they do make a 1tb laptop drive my friend did it the other day. google 1tb ps3 internal and you'll find it

there are 1.5 and 2 tb 2.5" drives now, but they are very expensive. 1tb 2.5" is pretty widespread these days, easier to find.

I think the new bigger drives will not fit, you need to stay at or under 9.5mm height.

I don't know for certain, but I heard that the PS3 can only use up to 1TB hard drives.

Reason it's 15mm tall because it's essentially two 1TB drives stacked together vertically.

As others in this thread have said, the largest drive you can currently put into any PS3 model is a 1TB.

Anything with more capacity is also larger physically, and won't fit inside the PS3's hard drive slot. Even though it might say "2TB laptop hard drive", the case itself is a bit too big to fit into the console.

I had thought the max memory on a 2.5" 9.5cm hard drive was like 650g or something, not 1tb.
