the TIV is high about $33 ...nearly free one week rental?
I've only done 1 trade with Amazon, don't really care for Amazon credit anymore since I rarely buy from there but seeing how I already platted the game and beat Vergil's Downfall I think I'll trade it with Amazon considering the TiV over at BB has plummeted big time ever since they had that Resident Evil 6 deal.
When it came out I wasn't going to get it because I figured it wouldn't live up to the standards of old games, plus I've hated everything Ninja Theory has put out (Heavenly Sword & Enslaved). I only bought it since it came out to $20 after using the $50 Visa promo.
But damn was I wrong, it's a fun game, and although not to the standard of the previous DMC titles. For me it's:
DMC3 > DMC >> DmC > DMC4 > DMC2
The recent game update tightened the score mechanics, (which was my only gripe since the game gave you SSS's left and right with hardly a challenge). I'm not big on loud metal/dubstep but it fit perfectly with the game and I thoroughly enjoyed the soundtrack.
Once it hits $20 I def recommend people who enjoyed the previous series to give it a shot though, well worth it at that price. (Unless you plan on just playing through SP once, then def rent it.)

Waiting for it to hit $15 so I can use the $20 I saved to buy some delicious pizza and strawberry sundaes to honor the late Dante.
I'm pretty sure you can use old Dante to play it

Ah, not getting it now might mean I will be able to pass on the next deal for it in favor of a better price.
Never been THAT big a DMC fan (not big enough that I would boycott Capcom for getting Ninja Theory to switch things up or anything) but I thought the demo was really good. I liked the first and fourth game well enough and haven't put much time into the third but liked it too. Maybe I'll just buy the HD trilogy right now instead.

You can't. It's DLC that you have to buy. Yay, Capcom!

For $35 I would recommend it. Given the viciously competitive nature of the games business, I'm sure in a couple months this will be down to $20. If you need something to play now and you're an action fan, I don't think you would regret it. There's also DLC now that I haven't tried yet, so I can't comment on that.

And the story? Not even as good as DMC3, which is surprising considering how many people swear by Ninja Theory's writing.

Perhaps the OP could change the thread to include this?

the old games but it's quite fun and unique in it's own way.
Beats DMC4.

LOLZ...me too!Whoa I just traded this game into Amazon for $33!
Honestly, if some of you insist on getting this pile, I do not recommend getting this game for the PS3. The best version by far is the PC version. The AI crashes, the game crashes during loading, bosses become invincible, enemies get stuck in the air, the lock-on sucks for difficulties above Nephilim, and I haven't even gotten into how how paper thin the story and narrative is. There's like zero character development except for a couple of the bosses...this is not an exaggeration. I expected more from Ninja Theory considering how they were hyping their ability to tell a story and having liked Heavenly Sword.
The combat system, itself, was ok, but is worthless because one weapon is so OP that you don't need anything else until you encounter a color-coded enemy that requires a weapon that is severely under-powered. Escort and platforming missions are a huge slog and really bring down replayability for certain levels.
And the lighting/shadow effects...jeebus, they're BAD.
Wait for the game to hit $20 or less people.
