Long story short the guy who runs GetWellGamers is fed up with all of the PC games they have (can't do anything with them) and is giving them away tommorrow.
If you do take advanage of this please do the guy a favor and bring him some old games he can actually use or donate a few dollars. It really is a great cause.
I've fucking had it.
eBay can suck my nuts.
Goodwill can bite me.
Tomorrow, starting at 10am, I'm going to be getting rid of all of our excess PC games that have been donated to us. I'm certainly happy that people would give us the stuff, and I know they had the best intentions, but we just can't use them, and stores won't trade them in for shit, and I've seriously just had it with them building up and taking up space we need for other stuff.
So, if you happen to live in the LA/OC area, or don't mind driving there for free PC games, it's your lucky day. Starting at 10:00 tomorrow morning, I'm going to be moving boxes of PC games out in front of my house. If you want them, they're yours. Since I'm posting on a public forum, don't be an asshole and take all of them just because, but otherwise, just help me get rid of these. Maybe a soft limit of ten per?
Everything comes as-is. If you pop open a box and the manual is missing, sorry. If the Diablo II Cd-Key won't work on battle.net because the previous owner was a cock, bummer. Hell, someone donated a game to us and there was a porn DVD in the jewel case. We don't know, and we don't care, we just want it out. We tried trading some of the games for stuff we could use, but even as successful as it was (You all got your games, right?) it's just too much hassle than it's worth.
And hey, if you want to drop a few bucks in the mailbox for finding something you really like, thanks. If you wanna ring the bell and say hi, I'll probably be here. If you wanna bring down a donation, that'd be awesome. But really, priority one is just getting these out of our hair, and to help us do that all you need to do is take them from us.
The address is:
The Get-Well Gamers Foundation
21612 Hanakai Lane
Huntington Beach, CA, 92646
There's nothing special or wierd about the address, so MapQuest or whatever should lead you right to us. And before you ask, no, we will not send you anything, even if you want to pay shipping. They're going out on the curb tomorrow, and will stay there until everything's gone or until the trash pickup comes next monday.
As for what we've got, I won't go into a list, but I've got a bunch of older games, (Dungeon Keeper comes to mind as a better example of these) a bunch of newer games, and somehow a plethora of still-in-the-wrap MMO's- Anarchy Online, Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, a big honking EQII collectors tin, all sorts of stuff.
So, anyways, there you have it. 10 am tomorrow 'till it's all gone. Any questions?
(Oh, a quick P.S.- Take all the games you want, but leave the boxes. Some of them are good "Console + stuff" size for our newer hospitals. Shows you how much we use PC stuff, when the boxes they're packed in are more valuable...)
