On my way back from work I decided to check out the used 360 game selection as part of their buy 2 get 1 free deal. But before I did that I asked if I could return my copy of Portrait of Ruin which I bought at a different EB (it didn't come with the bonus, so I got it cheaper off cduniverse w/google checkout). When returning it the guy asked if I had preordered it, so I assumed he was accusing me of getting the bonus and then returning the game. I told him that I didn't (which was the truth) and much to my surprise, the guy just hands me an extra Castlevania bonus! He said they just happened to get plenty of them. (This was the Washington Square EB if anyone is curious). I had to admit that I was very surprised since I was getting the bonus for RETURNING the game, which is pretty much the opposite of that bonus' intended use.

Anyway, I then went to gamestop and bought FEAR and Splinter Cell:DA for the 360, and got Oblivion for free. It wasn't quite my ideal match (I would've preferred Rainbow Six or Viva Pinata to Oblivion if only because they go for more and would've rounded the deal out nicer) but whatever. They're still all great games, (Or so I hear; I haven't had the chance to try them out yet) and a heck of a deal. But then, when I was checking out, the girl working the register suggested that I buy the Edge card and pointed out that she would save me 20% off the two most expensive titles I bought, and that I'd not only get the card for free, but that they'd owe me money! So I got the card for free and saved $6 off my purchase. And to top it off, she gave me an extra issue of Game Informer because I guess they had plenty of leftovers form last month. I only skimmed the mag, and it kinda sucked, but whatever, it's got pictures.

So yeah, I managed to snag a free Castlevania bonus, a couple free gaming mags, and an Edge card also for free, and still walk out spending less on my games than I would have ordinarily. It was friggin' rad!

But don't be too jealous of me though; I worked a 10 hour day before hand and now I must eat, so I won't be able to enjoy my games 'til tomorrow night at the earliest. Still, it was the perfect pick-me up after a long-ass day at work.

EB and GameStop were nice? They always are to me. Maybe its because I treat them like people and not piece of shit like most people here. Good for you Durand! And hurray for magazines with pictures!

Getting used Xbox 360 games, even with b2g1, is hardly a deal at EB / GS... they charge so damn much for used 360 games compared to what they actually get on the second hand market its ridiculous.

$54.99 for Splinter Cell: Double Agent? Seriously?

I called my lady friend last night and said my buddy had to beat off on my chest, she is kinda pissed at me, but it was the best idea I had all night, and I stand by it.

Quote of the mother fucking year.

Besides getting the Portrait of Ruin Bonus for free, I don't call this a deal at all.

Yeah, it was saddening that I was spending $6 more for Splinter Cell used than new, and even worse that I was spending $12 more on a used copy of FEAR than a new one PMing the BB ad. But I did the math, and I spent a grant total of $104, so that's roughly $35 a game. Not an especially good deal on Oblivion, but a good enough deal on the other games to warrant a purchase. Plus they're all complete, which is the main thing I care about.

We have been spoiled by having Rhino Video games in our area... getting the same Splinter Cell game for about 20 or less through Rhino's 2 for one is priceless

Even thier used prices seem to be a less... Generally they drop the price of used games a minimum of 10 dollars on newer 60 dollar games like SC:DA

EB/GS actually did provide enough cheap PS2 and XB games that qualified for my 2 for 1's yesterday, now if I can get them to quit asking me if I brough trade ins

Not even with a Rhino though, Ebay blows the roof off EB / GS's prices, which is what I meant by second hand market ;) Splinter Cell DA is like $30 on Ebay, FEAR is like $40 (or if you're lucky, maybe a bit lower).

For some reason, 360 games drop like a stone on Ebay, and I haven't yet figured out why they don't hold their value.
