I had forgotten how boring I found Alan Wake to be.

Run around some poorly lit woods looking for random pieces of paper and thermoses (going to just skip trying to find everything, not going for 100% at all), cue scary music that lets you know enemies have spawn, shine light on enemy, shoot twice. Repeat x 100000.

Maybe I'll just skip ahead to American Nightmare.

Damn, that's quite a lineup that even a non indie watching fan such as myself can recognize names and appreciate.

It ain't close close, but a half hour drive won't kill me. Might have to see what one of those PWG shows are like.

And to see this:

Saw that $6 Lego LOTR at Target. Didn't pick it up. I assume that was the correct decision.

Now back to the on-off topic discussions of spreading condiments onto Jennifer Lawrence's body.

Actually the TR remake was reasonably decent. Not cheesy fun like the original, obviously, but a decent enough movie.

Looking at the plot synopsis for the original story, no, there's no real relation. I hate it when they do that. Why name it after a book if you're not going to follow the plot? The Bourne movies were terrible about that, and I Am Legend just pissed me the hell off.

To be fair, the original story wasn't called Total Recall. Just the movie.

Same thing with Total Recall but that didn't stop them from making a terrible remake for it.

PS: I haven't seen the remake but apparently it has even less to do with the original PKD story?
