Wombat's List of Favorite Licensed Console Games

It's a list of games based on things that were not games, which I like Posted by Wombat.
Please enjoy this "off the top of my head" top 10 (12) list of great licensed games for consoles. This list is purely opinion and completely up for debate.

The best game based on an existing character using the best character ever created. Yup.

This PS1 classic features narration by Bruce Campbell and has the amazing "what if” mode, all Spiderman games made after this pale in comparison.

Weekday afternoons as a tween meant Duck Tales and cold cereal. The game was great platformer on its own, but the addition of Scrooge McDuck made it shine like a lucky dime.

This is the best use of the Marvel Universe in a console game and better then its sequel. Chock full of nods to nerds in the know.
6. Popeye

There is a reason this game feels like a Donkey Kong game

Using an expansive universe in an RPG format was a brilliant idea.

The unofficial sequel to the movie was also a great early NES game.

This is still one of the best examples of co-op platforming to appear on a console.
10. Cool Spot

One of the best platformers on the Genesis was a big commercial for lemon lime soda.

Raven Software's third appearance on this list. This game was best at what it does, and what it does is have Wolverine slice dudes up.

A GTA spoof starring the Simpson's, so crazy it had to work.

Hell yea, Batman: AA is #1. Best list on CAG, 'nuff said.

Oh yea, I recommend Konami's The Adventures of Batman & Robin for the SNES. It's awesome.

Goonies II is the shit. I mean... it's good enough for you, then it's good enough....

Duck Tales is such an awesome game!

Batman AA was amazing. I was seriously disappointed in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 tho, way too short.

No GoldenEye 007?
oscargrouch 08-26-2010, 05:00 PM
Huh, I didn't think Wolverine was that great, but compared to other licensed games I guess it would fall in at 11. Batman is the only choice for #1. Ever play the Rescue Rangers games?
Wombat 08-26-2010, 05:07 PM
I thought about Goldeneye, does that count?
LiK 08-26-2010, 05:24 PM
Goldeneye counts but I never liked it. :3

X-Men Origins Wolverine was a nice surprise, I had a really good time with it.

Hafta agree with ya on all the Raven games, though X-Men Legends was a bit slow to get going (especially with the one-player start). DuckTales & Arkham Asylum were great game adaptations as well, but I gotta go with MUA 1 FTW!
