You can very easily tell if it's backwards compatible by looking at the "Wii" logo on the front. If the logo is parallel to the long side (like in glassghost's picture) it isn't backwards compatible. The GC compatible ones have the logo parallel to the short side.
SS isn't a bad game by any means; it's just much shorter than the first two. If ~12-20 hours of gameplay for two playthroughs is worth $40 to you, go for it.

Don't bother. Unless you plan on cutting out the plastic around the inside of the lid, it's impossible to fit anything but a sandwich in there. But the look on someone's face when they see a sandwich come out of a GameCube is hilarious, lol.

I doubt this is a reprint because most of the stores in my area don't have any copies.
It has a dock so you can output video to a tv and charge itbat the same time, plus you can connect a DualShock 3 to it. Probably the best model for CFW.
