The point of buying the magazine isn't the content. The point is to utilize the coupons to get a good deal on the game(s). If the math works out, it's a good deal. If not, don't buy it. No need for nerd rage about the content.
The initial release slate of TG16 games were better than the initial release slate of Genesis games. The problem was that NEC completely botched the release of the TG16 through awful distribution and awful marketing. Sega didn't - the one time they really nailed things was with the first half...
What do you consider to be the essential gaming experiences of this generation of consoles? What small handful of games or moments will you remember forever, like the things you remember from the NES or SNES or PS1 eras? The things you would strongly encourage others to at least taste?
Rampage for the NES. I saved for two months for a new NES game at about age 11 or so. I went to the store and spent twenty minutes choosing between Rampage and Castlevania II. Went home. Found that you essentially always have infinite lives at Rampage for the NES, so there was zero challenge...
