My best advice is just to go to the Playstation Store, download any demo that looks interesting, and try it out. There's quite a few games I found that way that I wouldn't have played otherwise.

My girl really enjoys LittleBigPlanet, Civilization Revolution, Fat Princess, Feeding Frenzy, Peggle, Lego games, and the 2008 Prince of Persia game. I tried to get my sister to play LBP, but she couldn't handle more than one plane :(
