Japanese Niche Games Deals & Discussion Thread 4.0

There isn’t one yet, but considering the series’ history and the fact that Sega made some kind of announcement of annual Persona releases recently, I would not be surprised to see one in the near future.

I thought that was just how non-bundle-site Steam bundles worked, tbh. Steam does it all the time.

I’d wait for the expanded version, myself.

We need a Silent Hill kart racing game. I dunno what MysterD was talking about, I just saw all those acronyms and it made me think “Silent Hill kart racer. Yeah!”

I’m really not a fan of Humble’s bundles being themed around a single genre (or subgenre) so often these days.

Since all we have in this thread are anecdotes, let’s look at some data. From a highly imperfect survey, certainly—we can probably expect a higher response rate from affected individuals than unaffected ones, and the survey creator notes some further problems with the survey, himself—, but with...

That still represents a monetary and time expense. Look, I’m not saying joycon drift is the only reason I don’t think a Switch is worth $300, I just brought it up as one of the reasons I’m personally unwilling to pay that much.

That service will not be indefinitely available, and I don’t think the non-monetary expense, as expressed in the time I wouldn’t have access to the controller at all, is actually equivalent to free. I would want to have access to something more dependable, which means investing in an alternate...

Me. I want one, but the price still hasn’t gone down to my buy price. Considering the extra expense of having to buy a new controller once drift settles in, since that seems to be an inevitability even with their “fixed” joycon design, I don’t think I’m being unreasonable about wanting some...

I suppose I have been wanting Steel Rising, and HiFi and a PC copy of Y7 wouldn’t be bad bonuses. Loddlenaut might be my cup of tea, depends on the variety of wildlife, how it’s implemented, and the gameplay loop. The rest seem kinda meh to me.

If you’re looking for something handheld, I know Elecom makes some trackballs in a form factor sort of like a Wii nunchuk, with a trackball where the analog stick would be. I could see that being pretty comfy for general TV computing and media center stuff, though I doubt I’d want to use it as a...

I have zero context, I don’t even know what other young adults (by which I mean young adults, not teenagers) look like in comparison to this character, but without that context, I could believe that design was meant to represent a physiologically 18-25 year old in that sort of artstyle. This...

I don’t know what sort of rectangular you’re looking for, but Kensington has some squarish/rectangular models like the Expert and the Slimblade. They’re definitely on the pricier side, though.

It’s not for ergonomics, it’s because I do a lot of my computing in front of a TV instead of at a desk these days, so I’m looking for something I can put on an armrest or side table. Besides, I’m way more used to trackpads than mice, anyway. I haven’t gamed with a mouse since the mid-00s.

Inb4 Sony pulls an EA and pulls their games from Steam entirely before making their own PC games client with blackjack and hookers*. *Only for their execs, of course. Customers are expected to bring their own blackjack and hookers.

So that’s what people were complaining about. Didn’t pay attention. Sounds like the complaints were justified.

Honestly surprised the Taimanin games hadn’t all been officially translated by now, they’ve been super popular since the mid-00s when they started coming out. Hell, Lilith Soft has basically abandoned doing anything else but their web-based Taimanin gacha, I think.
