Hey Austin CAGs, in March I'm taking my second trip to Austin to visit my sister. Last time I visited, I stopped by Game Over, and a few of the chain stores (and Einstiens arcade R.I.P). I was wondering if there are any other stores I should visit this time around or which of the chain stores are better (last time I didn't have as much time as I do this year)? Thanks.

Game Over is still the only indie shop. The guy has opened a second store now, near the Home Depot on Brodie just off 290.

Theres half a dozen Gamecrazys in town, and then your Gamestops, but thats it.

Thanks for the reply. Just one more question, are there any GC/GS stores you would recommend over the others? I don't think I'll be able to hit every one while I'm there.

It depends what part of town you're in I suppose.

There is a Gamecrazy off North Lamar and Rundberg thats probably the best in town as far as selection

2nd to that would be Gamecrazy at 41st and 35? In a Sears/HEB shopping Center.

You can look them up on the website.

Gamestops are mostly the same. I cant think of one that tends toward a much better selection than the otehrs.

Gamefellas is another good store. It's just down the road from Game Over, in North Cross mall. Picked up a black label version of Silent Hill there recently for $39.

Decided to check back in this thread and was glad to see more suggestions, Thanks everyone. Also is there any pawn shops you guys recommend?
