Yeah, I'm surprised at the lack of information about this game. You'd think we'd see a TV ad on American Idol or something. These games could sell huge.

I just wish the 360 version came without a microphone. Having owned every single Karaoke Revolution game, Rock Band, Boogie...etc. I have way too many microphones. I'm still using my first Karaoke Revolution mic for all these games.

Is this a Harmonix game? Didn't they do the earlier ones?

EDIT: nope according to gamefaqs, Developer: Blitz Games

Songlist looks uninspiring so far, to say the least.

EDIT2: final song list looks better

A multi-platform game in the 360 forum... Why does this have to always happen...? :S

I have been excited for this game since I heard about it. I will get it for the Wii though. I wonder if GCN mics are compatible with Wii mic games (i.e. KR, Boogie, High School Musical). I have two GCN mics (as well as two USB PS2/PS3 mics) and would rather buy a game only version.

Anyone have experience with Wii microphone games who can help on this?

Nope, only USB microphones work.

As for the developer, yes Harmonix did the earlier version. Blitz games did the first Karaoke Revolution American Idol and it used the exact same karaoke engine. I assume it'll be the same for this version.

No offense, but this thread is more informative by the way buterbals has all the info in the first post.

Thanks for the achievement list though.

Hopefully they will frequently add more tracks, and at a good price. I cant wait for the game as Ive enjoyed the previous titles.

Is this basically a singstar clone?

Tracklist looks fairly lame, and the coverart is perhaps the worst in the history of videogames, but if the price is right, everybody loves a bit of karaoke now and then.

songlist looks right up my wife's alley - stuff she listens to on the radio all the time. I'm pretty impressed with the variety of songs for what it is. Hell if I had my choice it'd probably be a bunch of Ween and Iron and Wine - go figure - but I got over my music snobbery years ago... She loves the karaoke games so may pick this one up for her. I can't sing worth a flip though...

Or you could just keep buying new Rock Band content every week.
But of course this has songs that will never be in RB.

Actually, IIRC, Karaoke Revolution was released well before Singstar. Singstar copied Karaoke Rev.

I am glad they finally released Karaoke for the Xbox 360. I was still play it for the Xbox. =D

There's no way it's a singstar clone. The karaoke engine in singstar is garbage compared to the one created by Harmonix (used in all Karaoke Revolution games and Rock Band). This game is more like Rock Band's vocal tour, but you get judged in the end.

The songlist is pretty disappointing. I'm guessing the 'What is Love' song must be Haddaway, made famous from the Night at the Roxbury SNL sketches.

Everyone needs to take the song list with a grain of salt until Konami releases the full list (or the game comes out at the rate they are going).

Karaoke revolution party is the only reason my XBOX is still plugged in.
But this list looks like it would never beat out party's list.

Or it could be the one by Howard Jones. I just couldn't imagine them placing that annoying song by Haddaway in the game.

EDIT: Finally found some new images which does confirm some of the tracks on the list.

XBOX.com has just put up a page for the game, it does have a few new images that look alot better than the ones already posted here.

Also, the XBOX Live Vision cam will be put to use, most likely in the same way as it was used in the past game. Which is a good thing as I havent used my Vision Cam at all.

Another good thing is that on the xbox.com page it states the following:

Expand your library of music with hundreds of downloadable songs

Also xbox.com confirms a new song "Bohemian Rhapsody" made famous by Queen.

New interview is up on the first post, basically discusses things about gameplay. Nothing about the song list was revealed though.

Jujee over at the xbox.com forums compiled a song list based off the various screenshots and it seems these are the remaining 10 songs:

1. "Holiday" Madonna
2. "How to Save a Life" The Fray
3. "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" Aerosmith
4. "It Ends Tonight" The All-American Rejects
5. "Satisfaction" Rolling Stones
6. "Sister Christian" Night Ranger
7. "Sweet Dreams" Eurythmics
8. "These Words" Natasha Bedingfield
9. "Time of the Season" Zombies
10. "Tiny Dancer" Elton John

Also TeamXbox gave it a 7.6:

I thought this was supposed to come out today, but the Gamestop page states it isn't shipping yet, and I can't find it anymore.

EDIT: Nevermind....just found it....should be in stores now.....

Big question is probably: Can we use our Rock Band mics for this?

Thanks for the Info. Updated the OP with it.
Hey all, just got the game, so if you have any questions, let me know.
I was wondering if you can use the Vision Cam to put your face on the character models? In the review of TeamXbox they said that they couldn't find a way to do it. Would be nice to know if its possible or not.

Doesn't say anywhere in the manual how to do that. I'm wondering if that was a PlayStation 2 only thing. In the PS2 versions, I could put my face on the character using the Eye Toy camera, but I don't see anything on the 360.

Ahh ok. Another quick question. Just read the review on IGN for the game and they say that you cant customize your own character with your own name and all. That the character creation is very limited. Is that true?

If so its a bit dissapointing since the PS2 version allows all sorts of customization and the use of the eye toy. Im now on the fence on going with the PS2 version of the 360 version. Each has its pros and cons. The good thing about the xbox version is being able to download songs in the future. That is if it even happens.

Yeah, the character customization is pretty limited. You can rename the characters, but you can't create new ones.
Yeah, the character customization is pretty limited. You can rename the characters, but you can't create new ones.
Ahh cool, this is what the reviewer from IGN stated about renaming:

"To begin with, your character customization options are extremely limited. You can't create a singer from scratch, can't change a character's name and can't change a model's body type. Not being able to adequately make yourself kind of knocks the wind out of trying to become the next Idol superstar and is even more depressing because these options are included on the PlayStation 2 version of this game."

But its good to hear that it actually allows you to rename a character.

it feels pretty barebones. should of been available mic-less, but it doesn't even work with the headset like the XBOX versions did. I like using the mic more because you can hear yourself better, while not interrupting people watching.

One of the loading screens does say that you can use your cam to see yourself singing on the video screen in background.

I must say that the online mode makes this pretty fun. Since I can't always have people over, it's cool to meet people online and play the game. Now I hope they announce some new songs soon.

The camera replaces the big monitor behind you which means you can see yourself singing the real deal behind your character. Also at some stages there are tvs so you are looking at yourself in 4 different tvs at the same time which is kinda cool.

This game's been fun to play with the wife, and she seems to be more into it than me. So it is good to have another game the wife enjoys.
Most definitely the Rock Band mic will work.
So the Rock Band WILL work or does work?

If it does, I'm picking up the 360 version. If not, I'll deal with having the PS2 version, since I just saw it without the bundle at Best Buy.

I'm far more familar with these songs than Rock Band (thanks years of working in a Supermarket). Might pick this up when it drops a bit.

unfortunately it comes only in a bundle for 360. So if you have a Rock Band mic, you now have two mics for Duets and Head to Head battles.

haven't heard a peep. Even the song list for this game didn't come out until people had the game in their hands. I wish Konami can communicate the downloadable songs in advance like Harmonix does with Rock Band.
