We lost power to our neighborhood last night. THis morning, the Xbox won't work because the red GCFI button keeps popping. This happens even when the Xbox is not connected to the cord, and it is the cord alone that is plugged in. If I were to get another cord, would this solve the problem, or is the cord busted because of something within the Xbox that would probably just frag another cord if I got one?

Usually the reason it keeps popping is because the power unsafe to use. So it pops to avoid damaging the Xbox. It might be that or the power getting knocked out damaged it.

Have someone who works on electronics disasseble the Xbox and check out the power supply. It probably needs replacement or resoldering. Don't just replace the cord, you could have a fire.
