FFIII is not on the Vita store. :( I'm traveling at the moment and can't get it. Really sucks. I wanted to take advantage of the Tokyo Jungle discount too, but it'll be gone before I'm home to my PS3. Hopefully it's free addons will still be there.

Sony needs to sort out the PS Store and make it usable from a web browser. And whomever is dicking around with FFIII needs to fix it. It's compatible with Vita but its not on the store. Depressing. Portable system that is gimped during travel.

If Square is going to do that (PSN release), then what's the excuse for not releasing Type 0 then? Inquiring minds wanna know.

The assets for FFIII have already been translated - for the DS release as well as the iOS port. So it was super easy to have this release day-and-date with the Japanese release (which it did).

Type-0 is a new franchise, so that involves financing the labor involved in creating the English translation. Perhaps that's cost Square doesn't want to sink into the PSP in the US at this rate? I'm similarly disappointed, don't get me wrong - but there is a quick and easy explanation here.

Because Square Enix can't be bothered to deal with whatever they'd need to do to get it on PSN. They make enough money off of FF7/8/9 and their other stuff on PSN that they don't care at all about any other games that could make them more money with a little effort.

Agreed, but still its not like there isn't precedent for good sales as seen in this comment...

Why no Crisis Core in the PSN Store? It's a MF GH for crying out loud.
Regretting purchasing the GO over the PSP 3000 now.

Exactly right Crisis Core sold massive for a PSP title. And Type-0 is a Final Fantasy spin-off using the Crisis Core engine and battle system, other than being lazy and not giving fans what they want, I see no reason why it couldn't have happened.

I'd argue that Type-0 and Versus would help invigorate the FF brand after so many years of XIII and it's me too gameplay that turned a large majority of fans off, these would be breaths of fresh air for those people to give the series another chance instead of having yet again play another game with Lightning as the MC.

But then again this is Square 2012, so what am I saying.... I shouldn't expect any of their decisions to make any practical sense any more. =/

PS2 Classics
Ruff Trigger - $9.99

There's a game I'd never thought I'd see on PSN, the blatant Ratchet and Clank rip-off title. They should go with a sell line of "Just like Ratchet and Clank only not as exciting, or fun, it'll entertain you for hours....maybe"

Just look at the cover, I mean how shameless is that...

The game is action-packed from start to finish, including loads of new lessons, spells, and bonus content for hours of family friendly gaming.

http://blog.us.plays...-20-psn-credit/

The full post about the Spend $100, Get $20 Back promotion:

It’s officially October, and we have a great new promotion for you to get the most out of your PlayStation gaming experience this month. If you spend $100 or more on the PlayStation Store in October, we’ll give you a $20 credit to your wallet to spend in November! This is a store-wide promotion, so anything you purchase using your wallet will count towards the $100 total. One caveat: the credit back is limited to the first $100 you spend.

With great new programs like PSN Day 1 Digital, offering day-and-date digital PS3 games on the same day they hit retail, there are plenty of ways to participate in the “Buy $100, Get $20” promotion. As a reminder, PlayStation Plus members receive an additional 10% discount on a number of titles in the line-up when they pre-order. Additionally, if you’ve already pre-ordered one of the awesome titles in the PSN Day 1 Digital program, the money you’ve spent on those will count toward your $100 for October. Not bad, eh?

Since the promotion includes anything purchased with your wallet on the PlayStation Store, there are many ways to put purchases towards receiving a $20 credit. You can grab a PlayStation Plus 1-year subscription, or sign up for DIRECTV NFL Sunday Ticket. You can even hop into the video store and catch up on any new releases you may have missed!

With the month of October so packed with scorching-hot game releases, you’ll definitely want to look out for titles like Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, Assassin’s Creed III, The Walking Dead: Episode 4, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, Street Fighter x Tekken on PS Vita and plenty of others.

Here’s to the start of a great month of gaming on PlayStation Network. Let us know in the comments what you’ll be downloading on PSN in October to count towards a $20 credit. Game on!

Some more information from Morgan:

http://blog.us.plays...#comment-762604

Spending funds that are already in your wallet counts towards this. The key gate here is purchasing actual content.

http://blog.us.plays...#comment-762608

Yes this covers all of North America.

http://blog.us.plays...#comment-762607

yep. Also goes for any content preordered in September from the Day 1 Digital event.

http://blog.us.plays...#comment-762648

For voucher based content, it may not count. You’ll want to make sure the transaction happens over PSN. So if you buy a Plus voucher card at retail, it won’t count towards this promo. But buying Plus on PSN, will count.

Here's the full PS+ post for this week's update:

Last week you welcomed Starhawk’s single-player campaign into your gaming collection for free as a PlayStation Plus member. This week we continue to roll out even more content with NFL Blitz, coming free to Plus! Please note that Borderlands will be leaving Plus with this week’s PlayStation Store update, so make sure you grab it while you can.

October 2nd PlayStation Plus Update

NFL Blitz — Free for PlayStation Plus Members

With football (of the American variety) in full effect, we and our pals at EA thought it right to help you gather some friends and play one of the best arcade sports titles in recent memory, all for free with your Plus membership. NFL Blitz features a combination of the arcade-style gameplay that made the original a hit and the deep, immersive game modes of today; recharged with an energetic, football gaming experience. Pick it up today, free with a Plus membership.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World — 80% discount for PlayStation Plus Members (Regular Price: $4.99, PS Plus Price: $1.00)

You’ll also see an amazing deal on SEGA’s classic Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Remastered for PSN, this is your chance to meet one of gaming’s original heroes, and get a great deal and a dose of nostalgia in the process. Journey to Miracle World in a search for your long lost brother Prince Egle, and get some Trophies while you’re at it. You can also challenge yourself with all new trial modes.

Spelunker HD — 50% discount (Regular Price: $9.99, PS Plus Price: $5.00) All DLC 80% Off (Regular Price: $4.99, PS Plus Price: $1.00)

Spelunker HD is no stranger to Plus members, as earlier last month we had a similar deal for the game. Fans (and to-be-fans) of the game will be excited to note that the new DLC releasing with the October 2nd Store Update (Area EX9 and Area EX10) will be joining the rest of the DLC with an 80% off discount — about $1 per Add-On. The game itself is going back on the 50% off deal as well, so get on it!

Lastly, I wanted to leave you guys with a Plus tip to help manage your benefits as a Plus member. If you’re low on HDD space but don’t want to miss out on any of the content in Plus, you can still click download, but then cancel the download. As long as you’re a Plus member you’ll be entitled to download it in the future, even if it’s not in Plus at that time.

That’s it for this week. Make sure you check out tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update post to see all the details for this week’s Plus update, and come back next week when we’ll have more great Plus news to share.

Also, we’d love to know your thoughts as to what you enjoyed most about Plus in the month of September. Feel free to explain your vote in the comments, or in the Plus section in the PlayStation Community forums.

So just for clarification. You don't get the $20 if you fund your 'wallet' for $100. You have to actually have to purchase $100 worth of dlc?

Yes you need to purchase 100$ at least in content and it won't accumulate which means if you'd spent 200$ in content you won't get 40$ on your email that is tied to your psn account.
