Wow more free games! I'm surprised they're adding even more free Vita games soon. Makes me question how they're turning a profit with so many free games and only getting $50 a year.

I thought you had a week to download Rochard, but then had it as long as you have PS+? No? I guess that means I don't need to set up the PS3, activate PS+ 1 month trial, in order to download Rochard for Xmas....

I like this idea. Even if it's just the splash screen image from your most recently played game, that would be pretty sweet.

Black Knight Sword - $9.99 - 762 MB

Finally, such a cool and unique game, and yet no one's talking about it...what's that about.

Plus I'd have to say Grasshopper and Digital Reality didn't do the best to get the word out for it too.

Still will be picking this up this weekend, and I hope other people here give it a shot too, not many cool games like that released these days.

On another note, Invincible Knight is on the HK store with a demo to play it, simply you are a knight on a horse that can accelerate and destroy enemies the faster he goes, it's a 2d side scroller and must be played to appreciated, you only get to play the 1st level, and its a simple game, but has some nice depth to it.

That's what I thought, there was one press event that was on the official site and youtube channel, and they did very little to no press with any of the game sites I visit.

I just hope word of mouth is enough to help it along it might be short (from initial reports) but it deserves to do well since it does something new and refreshing with a well worn genre.

Mine finished over two nights (where my PS3 turns on for a couple hours and auto-updates, etc.) but yeah, that size is ridiculous. It isn't like its on two discs on 360 or anything. Lazy coding?

Here's The Drop for this week:

Vita

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Sonic the Hedgehog and all the rest of SEGA’s great cast of characters hit the road again in this sequel to the hit racing game. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed offers convertible vehicles, brand new characters, and killer All-Stars moves! Following on from the huge success of Sonic & SEGA All-Star’s Racing, the characters now have their own unique transforming vehicles designed to take advantage of the varying terrain. The line-up on the Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed grid sees SEGA favorites — including Sonic the Hedgehog, Dr Eggman and AiAi — return to battle against newcomers that include Gilius Thunderhead of Golden Axe and Vyse of Skies of Arcadia.

PSN

Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath - (PS Vita) – Oddworld just got … Stranger. In Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath, players step into the role of the Stranger, a rough and tumble bounty hunter who tracks down outlaws for moolah. Using a special weapons system that gives a whole new meaning to “live” ammo, players encounter deviant species and hostile challenges along the way. Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath combines first and third-person gameplay with familiar Oddworld elements and an all-new engine to deliver a unique gameplay experience.

Originally released in 2005, Stranger’s Wrath has been faithful reproduced on PlayStation Vita with a raft of enhancements, including: stunning HD visuals (with improved character models as well as new detail-enhancing effects such as normal mapping and self-shadowing,) re-mastered dialogue and additional bonus material.

Batman: Arkham Asylum – In Batman: Arkham Asylum the player assumes the role of Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the imprisoned super-villains have set a trap and an immersive combat gaming experience unfolds. With an original script penned by Emmy Award-winning Batman writer Paul Dini, the game brings the universe of DC Comics’ detective to life!
Batman: Arkham Asylum exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum — Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City’s most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum. Using a wide range of Batman’s gadgets and abilities, players will become the invisible predator and attempt to foil The Joker’s demented scheme.

Zombie Driver HD – Fight your way through the streets of a zombie infested city to save the survivors of a disastrous chemical accident that changed most of the city’s population into mindless brain hungry monsters. Time is your enemy and your car is your weapon as you race through the streets smashing everything on your way including fences, phone booths, street lamps and hordes of zombies. When the gruesomely mutated zombies become too much to handle, buy a new car or get more guns and upgrades installed. You can earn more money for finishing side quests, making kill combos and searching for hidden prizes. Game play is unrestricted and the player can freely roam through the dark streets, alleys and backyards searching for the best shortcuts or hidden power ups.

Karateka – Created on an Apple II by Jordan Mechner in his Yale dorm room, Karateka became a #1 bestseller and influenced a generation of gamers with its groundbreaking rotoscoped animation and cinematic cutscenes. 28 years later, Mechner returns to his indie roots with a new take on Karateka for today’s digital game platforms, featuring art by Jeff Matsuda (The Batman) and music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Tin (Civilization IV).

Whether you are a nostalgic Karateka fan or new to the game, Karateka will charm you with its classic love story set in feudal Japan. Fight to save the lovely Mariko from the evil warlord Akuma and reunite her with her True Love!

Labyrinth Legends – Explore ancient tombs of lost civilizations in Labyrinth Legends. Evade concealed traps. Solve intuitive puzzles. Collect stars and gold, and discover hidden treasure, weapons, artifacts and more. But stay alert to battle foreboding mummies, zombies, ghouls and other monsters hidden in the shadows.

LEGO Lord of the Rings – Explore Middle-earth in an epic and thrilling LEGO video game adventure for the entire family! LEGO The Lord of the Rings brings to life the legendary fantasy saga by J.R.R. Tolkien. The game follows the original storylines of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Players can team up in pairs as adorable LEGO The Lord the Rings minifigures to experience countless dangers, solve riddles and battle formidable foes on their journey to Mount Doom.

Knytt Underground (PS Vita/PS3) – Knytt Underground, the sequel to the massively popular Knytt and Knytt Stories, is an exciting platform game offers gamers exploration in an infinitely breathtaking atmosphere.

Burn The Rope (PS Vita) – Burn the Rope is a unique game for the pyro in all of us. All you have to do is feed the fire! In this challenging game, you try to burn as much rope as you can in each level. There’s a catch! The fire only burns upwards, leaving you to tilt and turn your Vita to keep your flame alive!

As you progress through the levels, you’ll encounter bugs crawling along the rope. Different bugs have different reactions to the flame. For example, the ant changes the color of the flame so you can burn different colored ropes, and the spider shoots out a web bridge so you can access parts of the level that you could not before.

Heavy Fire: Afghanistan – Heavy Fire: Afghanistan – The Chosen Few offers blisteringly fast-paced action set in a modern day Afghanistan

Burn the Rope sounds a blatant copy of Cut the Rope to me.

The only thing that's similar is that they both feature rope.

https://lh6.ggpht.co...jCZw62xA-o4J7DQ

Burn the Rope is about trying to burn the entirety of a design made of rope by rotating the device around to keep it going.

https://lh3.ggpht.co...K-nh_j4H_gutrQg

Cut the Rope is about using physics, rope-cutting, and some other objects to get a piece of candy to a little monster so he can eat it.

oh I didn't actually look up the game. I thought Burn the Rope was literally touching the rope to burn it. When they meant rotating the device I was imagining the way you sometimes have to tilt the device in Cut the Rope but that picture pretty much show the difference. Thanks.

I'm feeling a special kind of dumb right now, but I can't figure out how to get the Beatshapers indie bundle. Did I miss it or am I just doing it wrong? I searched for it on my Vita in the store and don't see it. Looked through the last few pages and didn't see anyone else having trouble except folks who couldn't get it because they already had some game from the bundle. I don't have any of the games already, and would like them all.

Thanks.

This week's PS+ Update:

There’s a lot to love with PlayStation Plus in December. Perhaps you’ve already thought of what a great gift a PS Plus membership makes for your fellow PS3 gamer. Or maybe you’ve been diving into the games in the Instant Game Collection with new additions like BioShock 2, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and Rochard. Either way, you’ve got more great content on the way with this week’s addition: Anomaly Warzone Earth! You’ll also find some amazing holiday deals on games that you might have missed. December 18th PlayStation Plus Update

Anomaly Warzone Earth (PS3)

Anomaly Warzone Earth is an extraordinary mixture of action and strategy in a reversed tower defense formula. Call it tower offense, if that’s a bit easier. The game tasks you with saving a near-future Earth from an alien onslaught. The invaders have captured world’s major cities, building huge turrets that destroy everything in their path. It’s up to you to lead an armor squad through the streets of cities like Baghdad and Tokyo, planning the route and strategically choosing which units to deploy in order to crush the opposition. Download it today and experience this fantastic twist on strategy gaming.

Here at PlayStation, we’re gearing up for the holiday season. In the spirit of giving, we’re giving you some great discounts on more than 40 titles over the next three weeks. Each week will highlight some of the best PS3, PS Vita and PSN games available in the PlayStation Store. Featuring trippy music/racing hybrid Dyad, PS Vita side-scrolling puzzler Escape Plan, sure-to-become-classics like LittleBigPlanet 2 and Rayman Origins, plus plenty more, we’ve got you covered. Starting today, you can save 30% — or up to 50% for PlayStation Plus members — on a variety of hot games, listed below. If the lineup below isn’t enough, we’ll be refreshing this list with a whole new batch next week (12/24) and the following week (12/31), so stay tuned.

Let's hope they finally bring Deus Ex HR DLC on sale to the US PSN, it's been on sale 3 times on the UK PSN, which does me no good, I'd like to get it, but not at the price they want for it. **crosses fingers**

Oh and for those that care Metal Gear Rising Demo (over 3GB) on JPN PSN this week, and they had Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage 2 (760Mb) on last week, (not sure if still available) but it's worth checking out
The CAG motto: "Maybe you'll luck out and get the game during a sale before it sells out, maybe not, that's the life of a CAG. Luck of the draw. And timing is everything."

Wasn't that region locked?

A friend said it wouldn't play on his US PS3 on either his normal US account nor his JP account.

It is region locked. A Japanese PS3 is required to play it.
Guess Konami really wants us to buy the ZoE HD Collection. Ken's Rage 2 however it's not so I gotta download that.
