Wind Waker - Leave Ganon's Tower at some point after defeating the four bosses?

Hi guys. I'm playing Wind Waker and wondering if you can leave Ganon's Tower at some point after defeating the four bosses? I know I'm near the final battle, but I don't want the party to end because I haven't completed the majority of side quests. What can I do at this point? I do have save states from earlier in the game, so don't worry about breaking my heart.

IIRC you can always go back to the overworld so long as you don't make the final climb up the big rope to the top of the tower. Once you go all the way up and through some window or something, the final final boss battle starts. Before that you can go all the way back out the castle and ride the King of Red Lions back to the sea.
