This week's Free Stuff Friday is a little different. You still can take home a prize (a cool nerdcore CD and a nifty, collectible auction program), but also get the chance to make a difference by picking the hospital and even the items I'll donate this year:

Go ahead - what do you have to lose? Nothing. And lots to gain, particularly if there's a needy children's hospital nearby.

Wow, people really aren't into this - even with a prize attached. (Seriously, the CD is good - even has a live version of Still Alive on it.)

One post so far. Children Hospital of Michigan is favored to win, which would be fine by me. Is it fine by you? If not, put your hospital into play now. And maybe win a nifty geek rock CD to boot.

I left a comment as it's a good cause, not so much for the prize this time.

I actually plan to do something similar on one of my sites once I get some sponsors, good luck with your event.

Last chance to enter this unusually unpopular giveaway! Hey, the rare geek rock CD alone is worth 30 seconds of your time, right?

For reference, here are the hospitals in play:

Children hospital of Michigan in Detroit (3)
Cincinnati Children's Hospital
Schneider Children's Hospital at North Shore
Midwest's Children's Hospital in Nebraska
Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville
Children’s Hospital Oakland
Children s Medical Center in Dallas

Fixed it - thanks for PM ing me rather than double-posting on my site. For the record those are not the ONLY hospitals you can play for, just the ones that have been called so far.

Last call! Now you can add Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to the list. And if you enter by 8:01a Thursday (PST), you can add another into the running if you like.

Thanks to those who took the time to enter. Children's of Dallas is the winning hospital, but there was so much support for Michigan that we decided to donate an extra $50 in items there too.

If there had been more support for this giveaway, we might have raised our donation even more. Oh well, maybe we'll try this again next year. Or maybe not.
