[IMG-R=94]3840[/IMG-R]I don't normally post PC hardware deals, but this one is so good I had to mention it - Dell have a deal on right now for their S2309W 23 inch 1080P monitor for an insane £140.23 (the price will show higher to begin with, but the discounts get applied once you go through the checkout). If you're a PC gamer looking for a monitor upgrade or someone looking for a desktop monitor for a 360 or PS3, this is definitely worth considering.

^ Looks like a good monitor for the price, it's not full HD though, and it doesn't have DVI input. On the good side however, it does have speakers! :)
Its not got HDMI so probably wont get it

great price though
HDCP support though, so that's easily resolved with a DVI > HDMI adapter.
Not bad, but this was brought to my attention: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128036
One inch smaller but forty quid less. Any good?
Personally I'd go for the Dell since it does full HD (1080p), has a three year warranty, and has DVI with HDCP (that CIBOX one doesn't),

I've been tempted by this for a while now, when it cost about £200, but this is really tempting now.

Why does it have to be so near Christmas when all these appear?!

I've ordered mine, estimated delivery date 23rd December. Apparently one of the discount codes expires tonight although I don't know which one.

No, I shall be strong and resist. I shall try and get a good 32" TV in the January sales, if any stores still exist by then. Hoping to get my hands on the Samsung LE32A656A, a nice looking 1080p model. £580 at the moment though.
Edit: Question, what the hell is this thing and is it any use to me?
It's a set of two speakers in a "soundbar" that draw power from the monitor and lock onto the bottom of the screen.

Would I be able to hook Freeview up to that with my 360?

There are two offers on it.

- The 10% off ends on the 16th
- The 20% off ends on the 29th

yeah, but not good for having a ps3, 360 and pc hooked up to at the same time. I prefer the E2200

Of course, it only has two inputs.

What's the E2200?

Hmm, what's the sound quality like? Or am I better off plugging in my Labtechs for now?

Yeah but how much is it?

Seems to be tough to find. I can't find it for sale on any UK site, or even eBay.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent order with Dell.

Unfortunately, the demand for the product you have ordered has exceeded our forecast and we need to revise the estimated delivery date given when you placed the order.

The revised estimated delivery date for your Dell order is: Jan 12 2009
Hmm, what's the sound quality like? Or am I better off plugging in my Labtechs for now?
I could have told you but the soundbar I ordered for my 2408WFP was delayed repeatedly for like a month and a half then dell sent me an email saying that an internal error had lost my order :wall:

Cannot be bothered to order another one after the way they handled that.

UPDATE - Complaining will get you everywhere.

Okay so when Monday came and went with no monitor or email I had a look on the Dell site and found that my order had sneakily been altered to on or before the 27th. (What about yours, John?)

Rather less than pleased I sent Dell a rather angry email, tinged with bullshit that made it sound like I'd bought it for someone else.

Contrary to the "return my order" selection, which for some reason can't change, I want my order to come in the other direction. Now.

Where the heck is my monitor? I was told, after ordering it on the 23rd of DECEMBER, that it would arrive on or before the 12th of January. Today.

Now, with no email alert whatsoever, I check my order status today to find that this has been changed to the 27th of Janurary. What the hell?

I don't care if it was cheaper, I won't be buying from you again if orders take this long! TIME is money too. It was bad enough trying to explain why Santa hadn't put the whole computer under the tree, now a birthday has to pass by too!

What the bloody hell are you playing at? I want this sorted out immediately.

>:c
And so I got a reply.

Dear Ben Turnbull,

Thank you for contacting Dell online customer service.

I apologize and truly regret any inconvenience or frustration this matter may have caused.

I have checked on the progress of your Dell order [order number 023413078, customer number GB8536556] – and it’s with our carrier company.

Regardless, since the standard LCD display just hangs below the £100 mark. That's a freaking awesome deal if it can be gotten to work again.

it's always the same
you have to be nasty and menacing and rude to get things done the RIGHT WAY

still pretty cool attitude dude. BTW, it's 14th now, have they shipped as promised?

Yeah, it showed today at about 11:50am. Hooked it up to my laptop to give it a whirl. God, it's ace.

kPod - Just before they stopped selling it shot all the way up to £195.

So yeah got a VGA cable on the way, official one for £7.99 from a nice man on eBay. My 360 was made before they were given HDMI ports else I'd have got that and a DVI adapter.

Any recommendations on speakers?

I placed my order on 22nd December, it had an estimated delivery of 14th Jan.

Checked my order on Sunday and it had changed to 5th of FEB!!!

BUT!!!!!

Checked my order this morning and it said it was delivered (i live in Edinburgh), at that very moment i got a ring on the doorbell and it was my new monitor.

It's gorgeous. Looks so awesome with sf2 hd remix with my 360!! man i put on Assassins Creed on PC and it looks amazing. Won't play it, but it looks amazing anyway :p haha.

So don't believe what it says on dell website. It's total bullshit. I'd go with original order estimate.

VGA cable coming, speaker problem solved for now (red and white leads to Y adapter to female/female adapter to old Labtechs).

So I discovered the joys of extending my desktop to another monitor today.
Oh great, turned it on today to find it flickers. If Dell thought I was angry BEFORE...
i sense something apocalyptic going the DELL's way...
run! NOW!
Oh great, turned it on today to find it flickers. If Dell thought I was angry BEFORE...
Did you try changing the refresh rate and using another input?
My ancient TFT used to have a slight flicker and whine like a bitch at 75hz :twoguns:

It's okay from my 360. Hmm.

Yeah my laptop was only doing it yesterday. 60Hz seems to be the optimum rate for this. My 360 looks lovely on it.
Bloody VGA cable turned out to be a counterfeit though. No wonder it was like a tenner cheaper. Still, it works.

Fun fact: The Dell S2409W (24 inch model) is £243.70.
