How were the deals last year? I didn't do any Boxing Day shopping really. Just wondering if there's any stores I should really keep an eye out for in particular (online or otherwise). IIRC, EB had some lame ones, and FS didn't have much in the way of games.
 
Deals last year were pretty crap, I remember only getting Phoenix Wright at FS for 10$. The two previous years on Amazon.ca were SUPERB however, I spent at least 150$ each time.

Let's hope for some good amazon.ca deals this BD, and not just garbage games they're trying to get rid of.
 
Gaming deals usually suck except Rogers really and that's totally YMMV due to selection. I'm working Boxing Day 11 - 7 so I'll have to wake up early even for non-door crashers. Or do my shopping online which I can do this year! Last year I didn't have a credit card.
 
Here's hoping I work a later shift at Sport Chek on Boxing Day...to make matters worse, I'll be coming from Toronto to Waterloo, so even if I work at noon I'd still have to get up wayy too early to get in on the deals. I'm kinda hoping the deals are crap so I can save some money.
 
Last year I only picked up a few deals at EB; Crackdown for $10 and God of War II for $30.

RFD usual get's the flyers before Christmas. The retailers give a street date to RFD as to when to post them and RFD agrees to erase all leaked ones posted before the date.
But every year BB and FS website melts down at Mindnight and I wait till early Christmas morning after people give up to buy a few deals online before breakfast. I'm looking forward to Amazon's sale I really want Wario Ware Shake.

Hmmm and do you know what would be the street date that the flyer should be available? I wonder if I should buy some game stuff before XMas day or wait on Boxing day, like currently I want to get RB2 SE for the PS3. I saw plenty of stock at EBGames for $189 but not sure if they will have better deals during boxing days. From what I remember last year RB SE was nowhere to be found during XMas time and dont recall any deals for boxing day.
 
RFD normally posts the first few flyers December 20th with the better ones coming December 21st/22nd.

The year has went by so fast, when I look at what I bought last Boxing Day and what is still sealed it makes me cry :(.
 
Arrgsh still a week to wait then for RFD to post the stuff 8-(. Decision decision, should I go get RB2 SE this week or should I wait for the flyer and see if I am lucky. I know the longer I wait the more hard it will be to find those bundle, though since its the PS3 version I might be ok.
 
Hopefully I'll be able to update you on any Staples boxing day sales as I work there!

Also, is there a general rule where employees have to wait until the store closes to take advantage of sales?

FS manager told us that we have to wait until after our shift is done (or before) to get in on the deals. and no stashing away items either.

luckily I have a cool supervisor and he'll let us stash away a few games.

Assuming you use staff purchase, then sure they can track it. Just sell it to yourself as a regular customer and nobody is any the wiser.
 
My wife and I are going up to Vancouver for the weekend of the 26th-28th, I'm hoping to score some good stuff during the Boxing Day sales.
 
If anyone is interested in a PS2, I know that one of the retailers will be offering it for less than $90. There are a couple other deals video game related, but I can't say it.
 
The only deal i've heard of for TRU is a PS2 Slim + 8MB Memory Card + Greatest Hits Game (Might be selected titles only) for $79.99.

I've been told not much deals happen at TRU for Boxing Days.

The PS3 + GHWT + Guitar is not too bad of a bundle. I'd rather have a price drop, but could use a second guitar to complete the set. (And then just sell off the extra copy of the game).

In a "how early should I get up" sense, how likely is it that this deal would be snatched up 7am?

the eb flyer will be available at store level on dec 24 in the last few hours of the night. we are closing at 5pm so if your near, jump in after 3pmish and we can pass em out.

also wasnt the ps3+guitar hero bundle at 399 the guitar hero 3 bundle not the world tour? I know there is a little boxing day bag stuffer that shows this deal but i was pretty sure it was gh3 bundle not world tour.

it is gh3 not world Tour and the flyer is 4 pages. Price drop on the other stuff (not in flyer) does not happen until that morning so don't expect to see it on here.
