Just wondering if anyone who has played this on the Cube noticed that it has horribly compressed sound. Like almost DS bad. I picked up the whole trilogy today...hope they didn't do that for all 3 games!

I imagine this is because of the cube's disc space, so did other 3rd party games have worse sound as well?

It seemed that most reviewers focused on the Xbox version and only gave a cursory glance to the PS2 and GC versions. A couple of reviews did mention the sound quality being poor on the GC though (incidentally, I noticed the same problem with the PS2 version).

Apparently Splinter Cell has lousy sound as well. Might be a Ubi thing, but I'll bet there are other games similarly compromised.

I have the trilogy with a game on each system.

Sands of Time had junk sound on the PS2.

Warrior Within sounds fine on Xbox.

Two Towers sounds fine on Cube.

Skies of Arcadia sounded better on the Dreamcast than on the Gamecube, but I guess you trade sound quailty and get more content.

I didn't know about the alternate ending until after my first playthrough. It took all my willpower and an excessive amount of cursing to play it again.

I'm about halfway through SoT, if the completion percentage is to be trusted. Is it really only like 8 hours long? not that I mind, it's a great game.

doesn't sound like I'll be happy with the direction they took with WW. ;) hopefully the gameplay matches up. I hear they improved combat, which is nice...since that's the worst part abotu SoT.

I played 5 minutes of WW, said "fuck this," and moved on to Two Thrones.

I think all the games in this trilogy were good. WW has the awesome chase sequences that provide a decent timed challenge and the combat is very good.

The thing with WW is it tried way too hard to be badass and in doing so it lost the whimsical quality of the first game. That and it was a fair bit glitchy, enough to bug me and I can usually ignore little things like clipping and frame rate drops.

Combat is a bit better, but TT tops all 3 games through and through.

Its the perfect end to the trilogy and my favourite one.
