The two US Donkey Konga games

I bought the first one at a GS yesterday for $13, used but complete. They had a lot of good used games, but I didn't have the money. Too bad there was no sale. The price of RE4 went up two dollars, which was odd, I figured it would drop, it was complete too. Only one left, probably should have bought it.

But anyways....

The first DKa is a loud of fun, however I hate the setup, it's too weird. I heard the second one was terrible, they had 5 complete copies, is the music really that bad in the sequel?

No, everyone is lying. It's a conspiracy by the Lizard People who control this planet. If they didn't keep Donkey Konga 2 numbers down, the people would have united and revolted against them.

OF COURSE IT'S BAD, YOU TWIT! Couldn't you just look up the song selection and a few reviews to figure that out?

I have yet to open up my copy of donkey konga 2, however if its anything like the JP one (besides the diff songs) its plays similiarly to the first one.

But just to make sure I'm giving you accurate info, what setup do you mean?

Damnit SC! They wern't ready to know about the Lizard People yet! You have set them back years. Way to go.

I grabbed both Donkey Konga games from a B2G1 GS had a couple years ago. So take it from someone that owned the game, unless it's for collection purposes, avoid the 2nd game.

Unlike the first one, which had songs that most people know. The 2nd game had nothing but songs that were either unknown or from crappy artists. Not to mention I noticed that the timing for beat in the 2nd game seemed to be a little off compared to the first game.

I've been wondering the same thing, actually. I'm guessing that it may not be as bad as everyone has said, or at least that because they have set us up for it to be so bad that it can't possible prove to be as bad as we are expecting. I have a sealed copy that I have yet to dare to open. One of these days I'm going to do it... and probably be proven wrong. :)

Tangy - what about the mini games? Are they any good in DK2? I ask because my kids liked the mini games in DK1 and the main game is too hard for them. If they mini games are fun in DK2, it might be worth opening my copy just for the mini games. Doesn't it have more minigames then DK1?

IIRC, the mini-games are the same as the first game.

Now that is the info I was looking for! Thanks!

I don't mind dumb stupid songs i don't know, but I SUCK at the first game, really bad, the clapping screws me up, and some of the songs seem a little off in parts. That would really drive me crazy.

The second one has 2-3 new minigames, I don't know what they are.

The setup menu, the menus where you pick what you want, and what songs you want to play, ect. It's blah and boring, and going through the 35 songs is a little annoying. It's too simple, it's not like there is a lot to this game to begin with, could have used nicer menus. :)

Hmmm what did I do with my copy... oh yeah, traded it into EB without ever playing it. I did jack the case for another GC game though (it was sealed). No regrets, though I do wish I'd played Baten Kaitos Origins and Wario Ware before selling them.

Really? That's disappointing. Thanks for that info. Now I really don't know if I'll open it, but then again, I'm not sure why I shouldn't. It's not like it has significant resale value, even sealed. I might as well try it I suppose... some day....

DKa 2 has two new games, and then the three form the first one. Very lame if you ask me, should have added a few more.
