50-80% Off Comics, Toys, and More. TFAW's Spring Cleaning Sale is On!

ANGURA

CAGiversary!
**Standard Disclosure: Howdy all. I like saving money. I love it when CAGs tip me off to deals. I work at TFAW. So when I hear of deals I share them here. But it would be unethical not to point out that I do work here. Carry on!**

Hey all,

Some of you may remember our Summer Steals sale last year where we took thousands of items and progressively discounted them over the course of the month. In essence, they started at 40% off and each week we took off another 10% until they were all at 80% off. Well...

It's back.

Spring cleaning is going to rock this May! We're offering huge progressive discounts on a ton of great pop culture collectibles. This time around we're starting at 50% off on everything in the sale, taking another 10% off every week, and randomly throwing new items into the sale over its entirety. With prices this low, you're guaranteed to clean up every time you order!

TFAW's Spring Cleaning Sale is all about saving you more money as spring rolls on into summer.

Here's the Deal:

We have very limited quantities of these items--we're talking about a handful of each in our inventory. So if you see something you like, be sure to claim your Spring Cleaning spoils as soon as possible before they go to someone else!

SEE ALL SPRING CLEANING DEALS

Enjoy fellow CAGs, and as always feel free to ask questions here and I'll try and stay on top of any new developments.

Cheers,

Andrew@TFAW

Any free s/h thresholds or coupons? I found one the other day, but it expired 4/30 (I was able to use it the first day of the sale for advance email customers), and I'd like to buy some more stuff as the discounts progress.

Well sure! Why not?!

How about this?

CAGCOUP . A coupon for all my fellow CAGs.

Free Domestic Shipping on any order over $40. Enjoy!

I made sure to place one more order last night before the nick and dent deal was over. I already see a few books I might want to pickup as part of the clearance deal, though. I'll probably chance it and wait until the 70 or 80% off deals kicks in.

Because of a lack of funds, mostly to do with the Nick & Dent sale, I'll have to wait till the last day(s) of the sale and see if anything I want is left. Unless a Sin City Library 1 has been discovered in the warehouse somewhere and you want to give it a loving home for 50% off :)

Too much good stuff right now. My watchlist is packed. Just the DC graphic novels made my list explode in size. I'll be picking up stuff at a higher percentage so some of the decisions will be made for with sell outs.

Thanks! Will be sure to place another order before the sale ends! (I also got in on the Nick & Dent sale - but can't resist cheap comics!).

Finally dropped my resistance and bought from TFAW. The 50% off and the free shipping made it too tempting to pass up. On one hand, I managed to get some goodies for the missus for Mother's day as well as a couple of Macfarlane Dragons for my eldest daughter; on the other hand, curse you for thwarting my plans to save, OP...

Ha! I actually went crawling through the warehouse just to see if I could find one. No luck. :whistle2:( But who knows? One may still turn up. It really is kind of like the warehouse from Raiders of the Lost Ark down there.

I use the same system. I picked up a few things myself early on, because I wanted to make sure I got them and 50% is nice as is. But not having infinite amounts of cash, that 70-80% range looks awful sweet. AND, by then my fellow comic and toy fans will have made it easier for me by narrowing down the selection.

In equal measure: 1. Glad you enjoyed your swag. Drrrrrraaaagoonnnns! 2. And curses accepted (it's not the sort of curse where I just keep getting thinner and thinner is it?) - we are plan-thwarters. Thanks for giving us a shot! :D

I keep hoping to find a damaged copy of the shadowrun core rulebook in a sale somewhere :D No luck yet, sadly. Had a good look, nothing of great interest but I could be swayed later...

[quote name='Slappybob']Boo! Who posted this! :bomb:

Ha, ha, I like your style. Had to expect Andrew would post it though. He does a good job getting it up and know on CAG.

I'm hoping that the odd stuff I collect nobody else wants it. I'll find out on the 24 :D

Yup that is our hope. I might check when it hits 60% for the stuff I really, really want. There is just too much to go through objectively right now anyway.

Ha!

Sorry to announce things too publicly! :D

Rest assured CAGs, we've got tons (I'm not being figurative, we're talking literal tons) of stuff we're adding to this sale in the coming weeks. So no worries on there not being more cool stuff in the wings.

Annnnnddddddd..... if you live in Portland. If you shop at our brick and mortar stores. You. Want. To Be. Waiting. For the Doors to Open. Saturday Morning (May 9th). Can't say anymore. But trust me. ;)

Cheers!

Is this for all Oregon stores? The Beaverton store often gets overlooked for special events...

Beaverton?

We have a store in Beaverton? ;)

Rest assured , we got you covered too.

just checked out...

sad to not see more Dragons though ;P

But the code saved $12 on my order... saving 50% Plus another 15% based on shipping is awesome!

Thanks!

(I'll keep an eye if you guys add more, will be making another order)

There is only one thing that I kind of want, but not really. I'm also low on money so if it's still available at 80% off, then I'll buy it.

Hey all,

Quick reminder. This Sunday at 12:01 a.m. PST, everything rolls over to 60% off.

And again, if you live in Portland (not at our Citywalk location, sorry) - be at your local TFAW bright and early Saturday morning (well, regular opening hours anyway). ;)

Cheers!

Well I did my first order, had to bite on a few things at 60% off

We 3 TPB $5.19
Fables TPB Vol. 3: Storybook Love $5.99
Justice League International HC Vol. 02 $9.99
Justice League International HC Vol. 01 $9.99
JLA Deluxe Edition HC Vol. 01 $11.99
Manhunter #29 $1.19
Showcase Presents Haunted Tank TPB Vol. 2 $6.79

Lots of good Justice League stuff. And Hardcovers are nice, especially at prices lower than the paperbacks sell at online discount! I'll be waiting until 80% after this and see what is left. I seem to remember last year they added in the the nick and dent at some point, that would be a good refresh of titles for a higher percentage. There are still piles of things I want there, regardless. Almost bit on some figures, but its hard to reconcile one figure for the cost of a great graphic novel.

For anyone any bit hesitant about TFAW:

Don't be.

Bought many items from them for the first time when they had the last big sale, and I'm more than happy. Andrew was very friendly and answered a question I had about shipping via email. Wish more online companies were like this!

I would concur, have had no problems with them at all across a half dozen orders and Andrew is very helpful with questions here. I wish I live close to their brick and mortar stores.

If it helps at all, the selection and prices on graphic novels for the in-store TFAW clearance sale (that Andrew was giving us the heads-up about) on Saturday morning were bested by the sale on the website right now. The 90% off of Minimates and Vs cards was a wonder to beholded (beheld?). But they were gone within a half hour of the store opening. Glad he warned us to be there at open. They also had some Transformers and Action Figures 90% off as well. Don't get me wrong. It was awesome. But...

The point is that the website's sale will likely wind up being better for most people than what you were lamenting having missed. Enjoy your Michigan, and its...uh...stuff that Michigan has.

Does Michigan have anything?

Deer. Abandoned auto factories. Some big ass lakes.

Also, ordered from TFAW before and they rock! No Grendel deals with the current sale though. *sigh*

Nothing I have found. The only advantage ever was during the gamestop used dvds era when anime would set on the shelves forever, ripe for the plucking because no one knew what the hell it was.

I also have to agree. I ordered 2 books from thier " nick and dent " sale and let me tell you the books looked like they came off the shelf brand new. I cant find one nick or dent. The quality of thier products is great and the shipping is fast. Don't hesitate buy now!

Unless its something i want then hesitate all you want. :p

Exactly how I feel. With escalating percentage sales you don't want other people to buy "your" stuff before it gets to the % you want.

Heads up all.

Over 1,000 items were JUST added to the Spring Cleaning Sale. And just for fun, we're putting a ton of nick and dent stuff in to boot. Enjoy! :D

I might hold out til next week. I made out like a bandit last year with toys and such. Thanks for the updates ANGURA :D

Oh, and if I were to add things to my cart (assuming they would be in stock next week), would the discount automatically update in the items in the cart when the discount percentage next week? Or would I have to individually re-add them to have the new discounted price?

I do have to be the voice of (mild) discontent here. In my last nick & dent order, one of the Concrete volumes I ordered had significant water damage. The book was browned and wavy. But I was able to pry open the pages without doing much more damage to them. I decided not to dispute it because I knew there was a possibility of this happening (plus it was just a few dollars). I've taken my chances many a time and TFAW has done right by me in the past. I'm not happy about what happened with Concrete but I don't expect it'll happen again anytime soon. I just want to put this out there so people are clear about the reality of "nick & dent" items: be prepared for the worst.

EDIT: Issue clarified and resolved by TFAW.

I was gonna ask about Nick and Dent items. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Not sure if I want tot take the gamble. There are a number of books I want and I'd hate to be stuck with something in really poor condition just to save a few dollars.

My last nick and dent order came out perfect. Out of nine books, none were worse than I'd expect from books that had sat around a regular comic shop for a couple of years.

From the Nick & Dent page of the TFAW site: "These products have been handled and have minor dings, scratches, and damage to the box or outside cover. The graphic novels are still perfectly good reading copies, and statues and toys inside the boxes are complete"

As I said in a previous TFAW thread, I've ordered more than 20 Nick & Dent TPB's/graphic novels from them during various sales in the past, and the worst that I've had was a pinkie-fingernail sized scuff on the spine of one of the books. Almost all of the rest were in pristine condition (some of the Hardcovers still shrink-wrapped) or very close. Nothing close to water-damage, and I'll be ordering quite a few more if they're still in stock when the discount drops a little more.

Bottom line: If there are some books you want and you're good with the price, I'd order them before they sell out.

Wow pretty awesome really looking forward to picking up a blue dragon, some Godzilla figures, and anything with anime girls :p

What are the chances anything will be left when they go 80%?

With adding stuff as they go, there was quite a bit of good stuff at 80%. For stuff that you really want though, you might want to go sooner rather than later as they may have like 1 copy left. For my order at 60%, 1/2 of my 6 books were sold out after my purchases, so I certainly felt I got them in the nick of time.
