Used Power Saver Sale Items

Unlike previous sales, GS is marking down the used version of certain games that are on sale but not all. This is the list of which ones are.

Also, if this works like other promotions then you get the better deal of the two. So you cannot stack the sale price of the used game and get the B2G1 free on used game to work also. Can't confirm for sure till the sale starts.

The God of War 2 price in the trade-in values section was updated "1 day ago" so it looks like they do.

Don't expect to get much from them though.

Ive been wanting to pick up some older ps2 games.

thx op....maybe now i can get some more value out of this stupid card....the idea was cool in theory but to be totally honest, it's hard for me to spend money at gamestop even with the b2g1 because between gamefly, amazon, best buy and even kmart.....the pricing deals and coupons are just better....i'm getting more games for a lot less....but i'll definitely be at my local gstop because they are still the best for older games.....

You can get 50% extra with 6 games and the card anyways. I just did that last night. This deal is nice if you have a couple single game lying around though.

Fable 3 trade in with 50% came out to $38 and Fallout New Vegas (360) was $36 with 50% extra.

Picked up the Black Friday God of War PS3 bundle with all the credit I got cause the manager taunted me with it. Hes like, "you know we still have 2 God of War PS3 bundles right?" after I traded in a bunch of games. damn him.

This is 50%, not 40% of the tier. It should be 60% trade in bonus with the card.
 
this is awesome, I was about to trade in Halo Reach with 5 filler titles to get the 50 percent bonus (was gonna get rid of Gears of War 1 and Resident Evil 5 and some other old titles), but now I can keep all the old ones and get a 60 percent bump on Halo Reach :) thnx for the info OP.

also interested to see what titles will be on sale, just got my Bioshock 2 Special Edition in the mail and was very pleased with that $30 sale by them, maybe they can surprise me again.
 
As soon as the 10th hits, trade in all your newer games! GS usually drops the values of the trade ins on Mondays. 50% is to get more games traded in, but then you find out you would have gotten more at 40%.
 
They are just going to raise the price of all the used titles so that you don't get a very good deal with B2G1. It's always a bummer... and their used games from their on-line store is never in good condition... like someone said earlier the only thing good about gamestop (the store) is looking for older games sometimes. Right now the good deals are coming from Gamefly, which are used but almost in perfect condition all the time, and amazon, which is also sort of hit or miss since their really good deals always go out of stock in a short while.

But I'm still going down to check it out, cause really you never know when you will find a couple gems.

Sweet, I will probably trade in Black Ops(didnt really like it), Assassins Creed Brotherhood(Awesome game but done playing it), & NFS:HS(Awesome game but also done with it) to take advantage of the 60% trade in bonus with edge/power rewards card.
 
I have a question maybe im reading it wrong due to lack of sleep but im looking to get EA MMA and it says save $20 now does that mean it will make the game $20 from its $40 retail price?

That is correct. So once the the sale kicks off it will be $19.99 before sales tax unless the MSRP goes up before the sale kicks off.
 
Excellent. I fell onto tough times for a while and havn't bought many games in 2010. I've got almost my entire 2010 list. I should be able to knock off a pretty good size of it witht he B2G1. :)

That's not my experience with gamefly. I quit buying from them a long time ago because most of the stuff was in worse condition than the best copies I could find at gamestop (maybe depends more on the specific system and relative age of the game). Amazon is my main source now.
 
I notice that Battlefield Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition is already $20 off from MSRP on GS.com, so does that mean once the sale starts, it'll be an additional $20 off?

Ya never really had a problem with GS, and the 1 or two disc I have bought that were unplayable they allowed me to return/exchange no problem. Maybe I just have good stores and employees idk, cause I have also never had a problem with the ones in Tucson that I go to.

At the same time never bought used anywhere else, and as late has moved away from used sales. They used to be a great bargain, but I am tired of GS peddling their used copies for 5 dollars, if that, less than a new one. Its just not worth it to me now.

10 years ago, a used copy was an automatic 10-15 dollar price drop regardless of how new the game. Now waiting for specials and deals at other stores you can usually find it cheaper new.
 
I thought $30 off seemed like an awful lot for White Knight Chronicles till I checked the website. Can't believe they're still charging $50 for it. I figured it would have dropped to $30 by now.
 
just so i am understanding correctly, when you say save $10 on the new games like backbreaker football for 360 for example....this would mean $10 off what it is marked now $19.99 making it $9.99 right?
 
Guys, PLEASE keep this in mind:

I worked at GameStop for 3 years, and I can guarantee: ALL GAME TRADE IN VALUES DROP DURING TRADE IN EVENTS!!

What was worse is when they did "employee appreciation" trade-in weekends, where we'd get 10% more, but games would drop $5-$10 THE DAY of the promo UNTIL it was over. What's worse, think about how many regular customers traded in games during those promos that wouldn't ever get the bonus for not working there. >.<

The TIV dropping during a promo is kinda expected, the question is if that extra 50% will outweigh the markdown. If Black Ops manages to stay in the $25 range, a 60% bonus will still make the trade pretty worthwhile. (40 in credit without having to use it on any specific game)
 
I doubt anyone knows this since the program is so new, but I'll ask anyways. Are the reward points still available for redemption after your membership period ends. My membership expires at the end of the month and I don't plan to renew. I'm trying to figure out if I need to redeem my points before the end of the month. Thanks
