Did a quick scan of the forums and the usual places, either there is not enough enthusiasm or it hasn't been said.

Phantasy Star Portable 2
is $19.99 at Amazon !
Granted this is not as good a deal as the Cyber Monday/Sunday deals where it ran for 14.99 but it is still half msrp.

This game is notable for having decent online infrastructure play on the PSP and being a decent game overall. If you have a UMD capable PSP this game will be well worth your $19.99.:D

Yeah OP, this was posted a few days ago (link). However, I won't be "that guy" who sits here and bitches about how "there's already a thread for this!!&@*!&#" because we all know how obnoxious that can be.

Anyways, I picked this up about three days ago and just got it in the mail today! :) Another huge game to add to my now monstrous backlog..

No lobby system (the sequel coming out in Feb for Japan will have this, though), but yes it has online play similar to PSO. I bought this game day 1 for $39.99 and have absolutely no regrets. One of my all-time favorite portable games. :applause:

Is it too much to ask that amazon includes PSPGO in their sales.

It's why Sony want's to go digital Distribution only.... They control the prices... they control the market. Good luck being a CAG when there are never any sales for any games.

You can't resell your games, you can't test or loan other games ...

It's bound to fail. Hopefully Sony keeps some sort of physical media in their next Portable.

Right now I'll just keep kicking it with my decent library of UMDs.

How does the mp work on this? Like how do you find other players online? Someone mentioned there's no lobby so I'm curious as to how one connects to another.

Thanks in advance

There is a lobby... but it's only a list of available games. Once there you can view all the games that are open for you.

You can then join if there is a no password.

You need a code to go online, which is found in the manual of your game. It works pretty well.

Not entirely. Amazon was selling PSN content for a while, weren't they?

Right. Like how Steam is a huge failure?

Bad comparison. PSP Go would be a better comparison: it's a digital-only handheld, and it's a failure.

If SONY's going to push the PSP2 in the same direction as the PSP (aka. a console experience in the palms of your hands) then people aren't going to bite b/c $40+ is way more than the average consumer will pay for digital-only software.

Steam is the exception because of several things: 1) nearly every PC is connected to the Internet 24/7; 2) retail outlets barely stock PC games anymore; 3) Steam is FREE and offers a nearly identical experience to XBox LIVE.

Also, for the record: just because Steam is doing well, doesn't mean PC games are. Even triple-A games like Black Ops and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood sell extremely less numbers compared to their console counterparts, despite the fact that a lot more houses contain PC's versus next-gen consoles.

The average consumer just isn't ready for $40 digital-only game experiences, as evidenced by the PSP Go. If SONY does decide to go digital-only for PSP2, then they'd better take the money they're saving from bypassing retail and apply it to the price of the games to make them $30 or--preferably--less.
