Full House Poker is developed by Krome Studios and Published by Microsoft. It's available on both XBLA (800 Points) and Windows Phone 7 ($2.99). Money and XP earned in one version carries over to the other, which is really cool. Both versions use avatars, but the WP7 version sadly lacks online multiplayer. The XBLA version features 30 player online tournaments (Texas Heats) that are scheduled for specific times.

Can't be a true successor if they charge for it. :/ 1v100 was fun because you could win prizes and didn't have to pay anything for it. I'd rather have ads on this game and not have to pay for it.

Unless they've made a TON of improvements in the last month, that beta was EXTREMELY crappy. I played at 5 or so of their scheduled times and I had another human in the room 1 time, and that was only for a few hands. The AI was also terrible in its betting patterns.

I'd stay far away until some reviews are out.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm a poker fanatic, so the chance to play this online over Live made this an almost automatic buy. I guess I'll now take a wait and see approach (or even wait until the eventual sale).

For $3, I'm sure I'll pick up the WP7 version. I don't like poker enough that I'd buy the $10 XBLA one.

The game is out now and I really like it. The XBLA version has a whopping 23 Achievements. I do find the AI annoying but I haven't really played that much yet.

Posted the Texas Heat (30 player tournaments) schedule in the OP. Let us know if you're playing too, fellow CAGs.

Main question at this point...why buy this if you already have the older TH'EM? Is it good enough to warrant 10 bucks if you already got the a similar game for free?

Well, it looks a lot nicer. There's a fully 3D casino populated with avatars, ambient audio, and you can rotate the camera around, so it's a lot more like being there. You can make your avatar act scared or bold and do all kinds of tricks with the chips.

There's also a great leveling system in which you earn XP for playing well (and some just for playing). When you level up, you unlock tons of rewards like new tables, cards, outfits, pros to play against, etc. It also discourages winning by going All In right off the bat because you don't get much XP for doing so.

There's a greater variety of 1-player things to do (Texas Hold 'Em XBLA sucked in single-player), and of course the online multiplayer has lots of new stuff. It's 10-player by default instead of 8, and the scheduled tournaments should be really cool.

In short, if you feel like a new poker game, you'll love it, but if you got all the poker playing you ever wanted done with Texas Hold Em, of course you should skip Full House Poker.

Probably will pick this up. Got a discount on MSP from the tigerdirect deal. Maybe if enough people do we can have a CAG night.

i played in the beta, did atleast 30 games, and we were always full, was fun as hell, only hit one bug where it froze when we were supposed to move to the next table but it fixed itself when we all signed back in

I will try this out, but I imagine online it will be like all other online poker where people max bet/go all in every hand, since there is no real world penalty for losing.

I picked up the WP7 version. Played it for about an hour today and had some fun with it. I don't know that I'll pick up the XBLA version. I just don't see sitting in front of the TV playing poker. Having it on a handheld is perfect though.

In FHP, going broke prevents you from earning XP for a while. Leveling up by earning XP is the main goal of the game, so hopefully people won't be stupid and All-In constantly.

Is anyone else loosing their buy-in when they leave a single player standard match?

I like it so far, I love poker, and for 800 points, it seems worth it for me. Add it to my huge log of XBLA games.

How quickly I change my mind. I watched Giant Bomb's quick look for the game last night. Thought it looked pretty cool and ended up buying the XBLA version.

it's fun and easy to play, plus the reactions of the avatars is funny. some easy achievements, avatar awards, avatar use in game, texas heat tournament's coming up (as scheduled) as dlc and more makes the game purchase of $10 worth it. 10 people online at once playing? it gets hectic lol

I haven't played a lot of Texas Hold 'em, so I want to play some single player before diving into online. Well, I'd do online stuff now with friends. I did pretty good last night with the XBLA version. I think you start with a $5,000 bankroll and I got it up over $6,000. Everyone else on my friend leaderboard lost at least $1,000. :)

I think there is an achievement for having a $100,000 (or more) bankroll. I don't know how the heck I'm ever going to do that.

Anyone have the Windows Phone 7 and Xbox 360 version?

If you have Windows Phone 7 you should get both, the integration is awesome and you can play on the road and all you winnings and achievements show up on your 360 when you get home and vis versa.

Very cool, played on Xbox 360 last night and played during my commute from hell this morning on the train (tons of traffic/rail problems this a.m.) and everything I did last night was right on my phone.

Hope they make more games this way

Hi all noob here, I have 360 & WP7 versions but when I play on my phone it's always in offline mode and a dummy avatar. How do I change to online mode?

TIA

I have the WP7 and XBLA versions. Just checked on my phone and it says I have 6004 chips and am level 10. I think when I shutdown the XBLA version last night, I was around level 6. So, I guess I've moved up a couple levels today on the WP7 version.

The playing I've done today is offline as I don't have the phone part of my WP7 activated. Hopefully when I get home and launch the WP7 version, it will sync things up with XBL.

I've got to say that I've tried playing Texas Hold 'em a couple times in the past and this is the first time I'm really getting into it. I'm trying to be a lot more patient, versus starting with a nothing hand and chasing a good one.

Go into your phone settings. At the top it should say "system". Swipe to the left to bring up "applications" setting. Tap "games" and check if you have connecting to Xbox Live turned on or off.

Also, I'm assuming you're connected to the internet, by either 3G or WiFi?

Thanks for the reply. It says On and I'm on wifi...I just got an xbl msg from a friend..I dunno what's going on

Question to people playing both versions. Do you find the AI in the WP7 version to be way more cautious? I was trying to beat the first guy in Pro Takedown on the phone last night. I could not get the guy to bet money to save his life. On the XBLA version, I've beat 6 of the players in Pro Takedown. Mainly because they will actually place bets and not fold on every hand.
Am I supposed to see my xbox live avatar on the wp7 version?
Yes, of course. BTW I've beaten 5 or so pros on the WP7 version. I just whittle them down till they make a bad move. The AI really is different across both versions though.

The best way I've found to beat a pro is to wait for the flop, have the highest hand (usually a pair) possible, and get lucky and the computer will have the second highest hand. They'll usually call you to an all in if you keep re-raising. It depends on luck for this scenario but there's no faster way with the blinds as low as they are.

Does anyone know when the buy-ins reach $100,000? I beat two 30-man tournaments (single player) on 5k and 10k, but 100k didn't open up.

This is how I beat a couple, if not all of, the pros. In fact, I beat one pro on the first hand. I had 2 pair or 3 of a kind and went all in. The pro went all in as well and I won!! :)

Just seems the WP7 AI will never do this though. If you raise more than the minimum, they seem to fold every time. Very frustrating after experiencing the stupid AI on the XBLA version.

Are a lot of people playing this? Was thinking about picking it up last night but held off. Really don't want to play with only the computer.

I haven't played an online game, but I would bet people are playing it. I wanted to get some single player practice in before going online.

Good game, but like any other no consequences online poker game, expect 2/3 of the table to go all in on the first hand.

Yeah, I can't stand the people who go all in right away. I also hate the people who bet 2 chips. If I'm playing a hand, I immediately put it at $10 to at least make the pot double digits. I'm up over $5k in chips now and have the first two pros beat. I played for 4 hours last night. This game is crazy addicting with the leveling system. Also, the xp rewards you for making the right calls, such as folding at opportunistic moments, winning on the river, winning streaks, etc etc.

My experience was very positive. Zynga poker has many more people that go all in. I did not find that many who went all in right away. I noticed more people would go all in multiple rounds in a row and I always assume those people are just trying to play their chips before they leave.

Anyway, I think the game works very well for a poker game with no real money on the line. It will probably get worse in the day time with little kids playing too though since most of them don't know what they're doing.

My only annoyance was playing in a game with a few sleepers with a really long time limit set. I ended up leaving after the 2nd hand took almost 5 minutes to play...

This game has been a lot of fun. You do have the occasional All-Ins, but they usually take care of themselves pretty quickly.

I'd be up for a CAG Poker Night if anyone else is interested.

I just picked it up and it's pretty fun. Tried several times to connect to a ranked game and couldnt get connected. I def want to play people instead of the puter.

Even though I'm not very good at poker, I'm having a lot of fun with the game. I played with MSUHitman and a friend tonight during the Texas Heat and would like to find more people to play with online.
