C'mon Sony.
I need folders or something.

Treat each page like a folder. Is there still a cap on the number of pages you can do?

^ THIS!

Also, when browsing the things I've purchased on PSN, STOP SHOWING ME STUFF I CAN'T DOWNLOAD like my PS3 games, themes, etc. I also want to be able to sort by content type (Vita games, PSP games, PS1 games, Minis) so I can quickly find the game I'm looking for.

The current PSN UI for finding purchased content is beyond stupid and shows a massive laziness and disregard for the user experience. Obviously nobody at Sony working on this stuff actually uses any of it themselves.

Yes, 100 items (= 10 pages). Relatively easy to fill up with Mini's and shortcuts for card-based games, especially if you have a 32GB card. Swiping up and down several times is far less efficient than the 2 or 3 taps you'd need if you had folders.

And re-organizing the icons? Don't even get me started on how much that sucks.

What the hell happened to the Silent Hill co-op beat em up that was coming out? The fact that one one is saying anything at all about it, the delay, and the current track record for Silent Hill games makes it seem like a disaster waiting to happen. Which is a shame, because I thought this could have worked in its own way on Vita.

So I don't know if I'm losing my hearing but does anyone think the volume level on the Vita is low? I've tried some headphones and ear buds and it seems like I need to have the volume near max to get satisfactory volume. I noticed something similar with the 3DS XL.

umm
I have no problem with it.

I play on 75% ~ 80% volume normally

and i believe vita's speaker and sound system is at least 130% louder than psp's

Did you turn on AVLS in the settings? That limits the volume with headphones.

I agree with the speakers sounding low. My PSP 1000 is louder.

Well, I was extremely skeptical about this game initially as well. It sounded to me like they had taken a different game and slapped a Silent Hill coat of paint on it.

That might still be the case, but my interest jumped up quite a few notches when I heard who was developing it. WayForward is developing this game, and I freaking love WayForward. They've made so many great games over the past six-seven years that I pretty much give them a free pass at this point. It's also worth noting that WayForward has a stellar track record for taking other peoples' IP and working wonders with it. They've done it with A Boy and His Blob, Contra, Double Dragon, and Bloodrayne. I don't see any reason why they can't do the same with Silent Hill.

Now that I have a Vita, I'm seriously considering picking up Book of Memories.

Just played through the Silent Hill demo.

You know, it isn't half bad. In fact, It's kind of good. Seems like a kooky dungeon crawler that is good in small doses. Definitely try it out before you knock it. I think I'll be picking this up at release, burn up some GS credit.

Got emails about the release dates and prices of Dokuro and Orgarhythm:

GungHo Online Entertainment America , a multiplatform publisher for the international gaming community, today confirmed that the company’s first title, Dokuro, will be released as a digital PlayStation®Vita system download on the PlayStation®Network on October 16. A creative blend of quirky puzzle and platform gameplay, Dokuro is a unique action puzzle game that utilizes both front and back touch panels to allow players to transform back and forth between character forms to utilize various skills and abilities, as well as manipulate the environment around them.

Players will take control of Dokuro, a stoic and diminutive skeleton who serves as a minion in the Dark Lord’s army. After witnessing his master’s kidnapping of a helpless Princess for a forced marriage, Dokuro resolves to free the Princess from the Dark Lord’s treacherous, monster-infested castle. Though invisible to her in his normal form and somewhat limited in his abilities, Dokuro finds a mystical blue potion that contains the formula to transform him into a dashing hero with enhanced physical prowess.

Dokuro must be aware of the Princess’s every step as she will continue to walk forward on her escape from the castle, until she encounters an obstacle she cannot overcome on her own. In order to facilitate her escape, Dokuro must use his skeletal form to stalk about in the shadows and quickly double jump from platform to platform. When the battle gets hairy, Dokuro can drink his formula and battle the armies of darkness with his saber in hero form. Players will escort the princess through the various traps and dangers of the Dark Lord’s castle, confronting sinister forces as they jump, run and battle their way through approximately 150 levels of increasing complexity and difficulty.

Developed in Japan by GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc, Dokuro will be released by GungHo Online Entertainment America on October 16 for $19.99 in North America as a digital download on the PlayStation®Network exclusively for the PlayStation®Vita system. GungHo Online Entertainment America will also be releasing Dokuro in Europe this winter.

XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, today announced that the upcoming music and real-time strategy rhythm game, Orgarhythm, will be released on October 23rd in North America on the PlayStation®Network as a digital download for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, for a retail price of $29.99. Orgarhythm was developed in Japan by ACQUIRE in conjunction with Neilo, the new studio founded by Takashi Hirai who is best known for his past work on Space Channel 5 and Rez.

In Orgarhythm, rhythm and sound act as the user interface, allowing players to control their armies and protect their god through rhythmic interaction with on-screen prompts. The result is a truly hypnotic mobile gaming experience unlike any other. Playing as the God of Light, players will battle the forces of the God of Darkness by deploying elemental soldiers for rhythm-based attacks synced to a hypnotic mix of rock, club and tribal music.

In the game, rhythm is a weapon and different attacks occur on different beats, making the game’s catchy soundtrack dynamic to user input. Each unit type is based on one of the three elements of Earth, Water and Fire, and each elemental troop has a “rock, paper, scissors” relationship between the opposing elements. With these dynamics in mind, players must choose how to effectively deploy their forces while keeping beat with the music. Players use three taps to choose the unit and attack type, then a swipe of the finger across the screen to choose position and formation. Using the same interface mechanic, players can also unleash their divine powers to boost attack, defense and healing, or slow down enemy troops. The game also includes both versus and co-op two-player modes via ad-hoc network play.

Additionally, XSEED Games and ACQUIRE hosted a fan music submission contest in September, which is now closed. Submissions are still being evaluated, and announcements will be made shortly.

XSEED Games will publish Orgarhythm exclusively on the PlayStation®Store on the PS®Vita in North America on October 23 for $29.99 – look for more updates in the coming weeks. The game is rated E10+ by the ESRB, and additional information can be found on the product site at www.orgarhythm.com

It ended in August and they uploaded new versions for the PS3 and Vita that now support Cross Buy support. If you bought the PS3 version at launch when it was on sale for PS+, they're not giving you the vanilla Vita version, as well.

So, I keep thinking about getting a Vita. How does everyone enjoy theirs? What games are you looking forward to? I have a number of PS1 games I'd enjoy having on it alread through PSN, a few cheap PSP games I never got around to playing, along with a few Vita games that are already out.

Someone local on Craigslist has a Vita for $200 w/ a 16GB memory card, Uncharted, and Rayman. I know it's a good deal but it's still a decent amount of money for me right now. Convince me, CAG - should I pull the trigger?

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Persona 4: The Golden, NFS: Most Wanted, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, COD: Black Ops Declassified...

And Sony says they have a fair number more that haven't been announced yet. Rumor also has it that the God of War may be coming to the Vita next year.
