Blu-Ray box sets are often much cheaper in Europe than the US. Warner Blu-Rays are region-free, as people who bought the Harry Potter collection for cheap will know. The Complete Superman Collection is coming out on June 13. It'll probably cost at least $80 at Amazon.

Save money by getting it at Amazon UK instead! At the final checkout screen, VAT will be removed for US orders, making the total:
33.91 GBP = $54.63 USD. On the downside, the Green Lantern movie cash probably won't be included or won't work over here, but who knows.

The Superman Collection 8-disc set includes:

What makes this set special? In short, it's got the Superman 1 Extended Cut, Superman 2 Theatrical Cut, Superman 3 and 4 (barf), a new edition of Superman Returns that includes the alternate opening, the Max Fleischer Superman cartoons, the Superpup pilot, and tons of special features for each movie, most of which aren't on the older Blu-Rays.

I'm sure the number of discs on Amazon UK's description is a mistake. They probably entered 5 because that's how many films come in the collection. Warner wouldn't leave out the alternate versions of the films and special features discs.

Shrike, you never really know until the product comes out, but Warner Blu-Rays are region-free 99% of the time.

a lot of people jumped on a similar deal for the Alien set.

But the UK version seemed to be inferior in terms of packaging. Also it took forever to ship. My copy took over 2-months,

The UK Alien Anthology has the best packaging, dude. UK box sets often do.

As for the huge wait, that was due to the holiday season and weather. Hopefully Superman ships a lot faster! The Superman box set, I mean.

I have purchased both the Alien collection and Leathel Weapon collection from Amazon UK. Paid about $30 for each. It took about a week to get them. I have been very happy with Amazon UK and have had no problem with them.

I received my copy today. so less than 5 days from the UK to New Mexico. aside from the uk rating on the disc and small WB text to see what disc is which. it was a great deal. Thanks to the OP for finding the deals.
concerning other titles, like HP, the description has to include [Region-Free] to work on the US BR players?
No, but I lot of stuff is region B locked and won't work in the US. There are a few websites that list region free Blu-Rays, if you're not sure.

I have a couple of other region-free UK Blu-Rays: Borat and Highlander.

Supergirl, UncleBob? Oh man, I can watch it, but only for the actress who plays Supergirl, and to a lesser extent, Jimmy Olson's cameo. Otherwise, not such a good movie. It might hit Blu-Ray at a value price some day.
Waiting it drop down $39.99 or less ;)
Maybe
it'll go that low on Black Friday? I would be all over it at that price.
