[CUSTOMSPOILER="General Info"]
Q. What is MyPunchcard?
A. MyPunchcard is a part of the Xbox LIVE Rewards program open to all members. Through MyPunchcard, Xbox LIVE Rewards members can get rewarded for performing a specific set of actions outlined in the Punchcard for each offer. Once all punches are earned on a specific Punchcard, get rewarded!

Q. Who is eligible for MyPunchcard?
A. All Xbox LIVE Rewards members are eligible to participate in MyPunchcard. To start earning punches for completing specific actions, join Xbox LIVE Rewards now for free if you haven’t already: http://rewards.xbox.com.

Q. How does MyPunchcard work?
A. Each Punchcard has a set amount of punches required in order to complete it. Once a specific action is completed and a punch is earned, it can take up to 96 hours for it to appear on the MyPunchcard page. Xbox LIVE Rewards members are only eligible to receive a Reward once all punches have been earned and the entire Punchcard is complete. There is a limit of one Reward per one completed Punchcard, unless otherwise noted.

Q. Where can I find the available Punchcards?
A. To check out the available Punchcards, log into the Xbox LIVE Rewards site and visit the MyPunchcard page. The amount of available Punchcards each month will vary.

Q. Do Punchcards expire?
A. Yes. Once a Punchcard expires, no further punches will be provided for actions completed after that date. Expiration dates for each Punchcard vary and are listed on the MyPunchcard page found here.

Q. I completed a Punchcard! How do I claim my Reward?
A. If the Reward is Microsoft Points, they will appear under Pending on your MyRewards page by the 15th of the following month. If the Reward is anything other than Microsoft Points, an email will be sent to your contact email listed here with instructions to redeem your Reward. The Rewards for completion of a Punchcard will vary with each Punchcard offer. Rewards will not be provided during the Punchcard offer period.

April's PlaytoEarn Punchcard
Check your status - May take 3-5 days to update
XBLA DLC purchases do not count toward the April Punchcard - source

Cornelius's list of sources for last-minute XBLA purchase ideas:
  • The Wikipedia page for XBLA releases, sorted by MSP.
  • Xbox.com's sorted list of best-selling XBLA titles.
  • Major Nelson's most-recent list of top 20 XBLA games purchased.
  • The Twisted Pixel bundle ... seriously, it's 3600 MSP worth of games for 800 MSP!
  • The DOTW for April 30th, listed on our OP, as well as Major Nelson's blog, which will go live around 4/30 @ 2am PDT, and be valid for 14-15 hours up through the promo's deadline between 4pm-5pm'ish PDT (depending how they've configured the reporting servers to account for GMT).
Note I was going to also suggest the "Angry Birds Trilogy" sale starting 4/30, but since it's a GoD title, it doesn't count.
  • Games your friends have picked up. Use the "Compare Games" feature on their profile, which will list their games in order of most-recently played by default.
  • Atari-published games, which you should assume will get de-published as soon as its game licenses/IP are sold off in bankruptcy court.
  • Games NOT found on compilation discs, because you can often find them "cheap" on eBay or used-game retailers. See this XBLA thread post (under "XBLA Discs") for more info & lists.
  • And finally, TylerH1701's list of XBLA games yet to go on sale
Hope this helps anyone's last-minute purchase dilemma. ;)

FAQ:
_________________________________________________

Q: So what is this and how much does it cost?
A: Xbox Rewards is a free loyalty program run by ePrize for the Microsoft Corporation. They offer free and Gold Xbox Live members "rewards" for completing survey, making qualified purchases, or other actions during a specified period.

Q: Where do I start?
A: You should start by reviewing the official FAQ. Once you are done there, and you have decided to join, you are ready to start earning rewards.

Q: I never got my reward for my first purchase after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ. You will only earn that reward for your first purchase from the marketplace ever. If you made a purchase before joining the program, you are out of luck.

Q: I never got my reward for activating Netflix after joining the rewards program?
A: According to the official FAQ and some discussion with @XboxSupport You will only earn that reward for the first time you ever activate Netflix on your specific gamertag. If you did that before joining the program, you are out of luck. If you are still good, you have to have had Netflix activated for 1 month and have watched 2+ hours of streaming content during that time period.

Q: When will this end?
A: According to the official T&C, the program is scheduled to end at 3:59 p.m. GMT on June 30, 2012. It is possible that the program will be renewed or go after that, but there hasn't been more info on that yet.

Q: Will my Xbox LIVE Rewards Points expire?
A: Rewards Points do expire, so be sure to use them by June 30, 2012.

Q: How do I use my expiring Microsoft Points first?
A: Promotional points with expiration dates are automatically redeemed first before purchased points. [source]

Great idea reddjoey! Also, I would like to let everyone know: there have been problems with the March 5% rebate promotion - Microsoft knows about the situation and says everything should be resolved by April 20th. If you do not receive your points by the 20th, you should email Rewards @ [email protected] in order to receive your points.

I didn't know about this. This is great! I've been a member for a while and never really got anything from it, but now today I'm spending 1600 points and will easily stay gold for the whole month, so I'll get the rebate and the Halo avatar item.
Finally accumulated 100 points and got my email confirmation, but do these have expiration dates?
From the official FAQ page:

I'll stick that in the OP
From the official FAQ page:

I wonder how they differentiate between Rewards points and purchased points. I may have missed it, but I didn't see anything in the Rewards FAQ or Terms and Conditions that state which points are used first.

For example, say I have 1,000 MS points and I receive 200 Rewards points. Between now and 6/30/12, I only spend 1,000 points. Were the 1,000 spent points all purchased points, and the 200 points expire? What if I buy X points after receiving Rewards points, and spend X + 1,000 points, still leaving 200 on 6/30/12? Will those be considered purchased or Rewards points?

I don't expect anyone here to know the answer, I'll e-mail their support for clarification. Just putting it out there that there appears to be a loophole in the rules that may allow them to expire points unless you can show your points balance got zeroed out at some point after receiving Rewards points.

I haven't seen any "official" answer, but I'd assume they would use Free points fist.

If/when you get an official answer please add it to the FAQ with a link to the answer
I've read multiple times that Microsoft uses points expiring the closest first.
This.

Thanks, joey!
Although, I can see the inevitable comments with people complaining about how they never got their points/rebates in the future. Hopefully I wont be one of them.

Thee smaller increment rewards will be nice, I've had 130 points for a really long time and I usually don't buy themes or avatar items. I was thinking about selling them to someone in my fam plan, but now I don't have too!

Thanks to reddjoey for this awesome idea! One question, though: Can someone clarify where to find these surveys I can answer for 20 pts?

-B

  • Make your first marketplace purchase ever - 100 Microsoft Points
I still haven't received these points. I signed up for rewards in December. I've been getting 10 pts for the 1 months I used a while back every month. Also received my points from the surveys I remembered to do.

and yes I have made purchases since I signed up. I bought a several things in April and already had things from Feb/March

Ever means "EVAR! on that gamertag", as in you never made a purchase before joining the rewards program. If that is true, then you need to send an email to the CS team.

Are Xbox LIVE Rewards Points different than Microsoft Points? A. No, there is no difference between Rewards Points and Microsoft Points.

I know how you feel. I have 100 points pending.

Great thread, reddjoey! We needed a designated place to discuss Xbox Rewards. :)

On a related note, I finally got my 5% March rebate credited to my Rewards account.
BONUS - 5% of my total spending in March should have been 192 points, but they rounded up and deposited 200. :) I know it wouldn't have made sense to deposit an uneven number, but it's still nice to know they round UP instead of DOWN.

If anyone else is wondering: Game Room games DO count toward the 5% off rebate. Got my March rebate back and the total included my GR purchases, so can confirm for sure.

i know a lot of people have had their 5% back finally show up but are they still pending for everyone else or have they actually been deposited?
When I purchase Microsoft Points, do they expire?

The difference is that rewards points (and other "promotional" points like one you win in various Xbox Sweepstakes) can expire. That is it. So if you win points or earn rewards points, be sure to spend them before they expire.
The difference is that rewards points (and other "promotional" points like one you win in various Xbox Sweepstakes) can expire. That is it. So if you win points or earn rewards points, be sure to spend them before they expire.
Exactly. The point is (no pun intended) that the initial XBLR FAQ statement "there is no difference between Rewards Points and Microsoft Points" is false and potentially misleading. Thanks to this thread, in part, we know what we're getting.

I've had 120 points deposited, another 230 still pending. All of the points that have been deposited were from back in December and January.

So, I bought the Halo Map Pack on April 1st. Shouldn't the 400 be in my pending section? It's not. Maybe it takes a lottt more time.
My 5% showed up finally, just sucks I have to wait until next month on the 15th for them to be transfered into my account.
Yeah this happened to me, kinda silly that it takes so long to be deposited.
So, I bought the Halo Map Pack on April 1st. Shouldn't the 400 be in my pending section? It's not. Maybe it takes a lottt more time.
Mine hasn't shown either in pending... Not sure if I should worry yet.

MS is really slow with this

Halo reach mappack rebate points are a different kind of promo with xboxliverewards. MS is going to mail you a code instead, probably in a few weeks.

Didn't see it mentioned, apologies if it has been - Games on Demand count towards the 5% cashback as well - couldn't figure out for the life of me why I was getting 320 back for March until I calculated in the $40 I spent on Red Dead Redemption off the deck when I was drunk haha

Drunk + Credit Card = Regret

The best/worst thing I ever bought drunk was the "Monster Booty" compilation CD from a latenight commercial.

It came with a "I Brake For Monster Booty" bumper sticker.

How could I say no?

CML for the bumper sticker.

Haha. Just kidding. I already have eight.

Hmm... No % back on purchases this month. That's disappointing.

I knew I should've bought the Halo Reach Defiant Pack last month, and... oh wait, I couldn't, because I never received my Rewards Points for March.

Before anyone asks, I had over 100 points, they just never deposited them.
New Survey is up too.
Can you share with us your lack of interest in purchasing a Kinect for Xbox 360?

Hands free gaming doesn't appeal to me
Game variety doesn't appeal to me

Contact them if you haven't already. Tell them you never got them.

I did, and they showed up about a week later.

Good to know there won't be any 5% pointsback promotion since I'm almost entirely out of points.

By the way, to get points from the Halo Reach Defiant Pack, do you just have to download them or do you also have to play the maps?
Anyone get a code for the 200msp VIP offer on the rewards page?
I saw that too but don't have any email.

I got an e-mail. It's to join bing rewards.

I've never done bing rewards, but I'm considering it. 200 points from microsoft+250 point bing signup apparently. I've heard of people always mentioning it, but I've never taken the time to learn about it.

Can someone give me a brief summary of what bing rewards is, how I can earn points, and is it safe/worth it?

At first I was unimpressed by the breadth of the Xbox Live awards program, but then you get your first deposit (renewed XBL, got some points, spent some money in the market place, got some points) and you're 200 points richer and it feels like a mini-miracle. I've already earned 470, which is a whole lot of free content for doing nothing.

I noticed the VIP section on there today as well, and am curious to know whether anyone else has gotten the e-mail yet which contains the code for that page.

Just got the VIP e-mail. Little confused about the whole program though. Currently I have around 700+ points but whenever the 14th rolls around I don't get any deposited like the FAQ's say. Is it because I still have some points under "pending"?

Thanks!
