Since Amazon's price is not the cheapest, the bonus offer doesn't show up. You have to select to purchase it from Amazon in the list of sellers

Buy a 3-Month Gold Card, Get 800 Xbox LIVE Points Free
Purchase an Xbox 360 Live 3-Month Gold Card or downloadable code and receive 800 free Xbox LIVE points. The code for the points will be emailed to you once your order ships or you complete your download. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Limit one per household. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.
Amazon has a deal where if you buy 3 months of xbox live gold, you get 800 free microsoft points.

Should work on the physical card as well as the digital code.

Yea, I just figured it out. Since Amazon's price is not the cheapest, the bonus offer doesn't show up. You have to select to purchase it from Amazon in the list of sellers

thanks, added that to the op

You have to log in to see the bonus code.... I wasn't logged in at first (wasn't there!) but as soon as I logged in and reloaded the bonus appeared. :)

So basically ten bucks for 800 points and then 10 bucks for 3 months of live. 12 months is 40 regularly on Amazon. So, not much of a deal? Idk, its 5am.

It would be the same as paying $40 for a 12-month card and paying full price on the points. Thanks OP but the math doesn't work out.

Of course it does!

The end numbers are not just what you wanted them to be =)

I see the deal on the 3 month physical card page. I also see where it mentions that the DD code works but when I select the DD code the bonus offer is gone. I think I will wait and see if the page gets updated. EDITED PLEASE READ UPDATE

If you trust them..Amazon chat cs reports that the deal is NOT valid with the downloadable code despite what the promo says on the physical card page. (and note the promo is not present on the digital download page) If you buy take a screenshot but I am sure those that have bought it will be taken care of by Amazon's CS down the road.

Well I picked up a downloadable code, no points were emailed and I already redeemed the code for the 3 months.

Gonna contact CSR because it does say one or the other.

Your math assumes that everyone wants a 12 month card....not everyone one does (ie, parents buying it for the kids for the summer, people buying it for friends to try out xbox live with them, people who care about online for one game and who will probably had their fill after 3 months. If you are in the market for a 3 month card, it is a decent deal.

Well I didn't receive an email, I had to contact a CSR and she said that the Online downloadable content team or some bullshit would have to assist me with this and she sent them an email for me.

Your "should work" is turning into a confirmed, NOT working and may require people who purchase the online code to contact CS.

That sucks. Thanks for trying it out so we could see what happens.

Well this is turning into a bigger pain in the ass than I anticipated. The game download specialist got back to me with this:

Hello Colin,

I'm really sorry that you have not received your code for "Xbox 360 Live Subscription Gold Card." I have reviewed your account and have verified that your order is complete and your code is available for viewing in your Games and Software library. I have provided information below on how to access your code for your convenience.

The code will be stored in Your Games and Software Library at the following link:

www.amazon.com/YourGames

I got my fucking XBL code, I DIDNT get my 800 MSP that I was supposed to get with my XBL sub. WTF!!!!!!!!!! I never said anything about not getting my subscription code, I said my Microsoft points code, it even says it in the original email. WTF!!!!!!!

Contacted CSR via chat again and he told me to call in, I spoke with a Zach and I pointed out to him that the website only reflects the bonus offer when you select the card version and not the online code even though the bonus clearly states it's both formats.

He stated that it may be a problem and assured me I would get my code, he will bring the discrepancy to the promotions team to get it fixed, which may be causing me from getting an email with the MSP as their systems are automated.

He also credited my account for $5 for bringing it to their attention.

What seemed like a bad situation turned out to be pretty good!

I kind of want to do this. For some stupid reason Microsoft has froze spending on my account. I called Friday but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I want to buy the LA Noire pass before the sale ends.

this deal is basically

buy $10 worth of M$ pts and get 3 months XBL for $3.60 a month.

Not that good considering the 12 month on amazon is $3.75 a month without a deal.

I forget what the C in CAG stands for, but i'd imagine some people prefer to spend $3.60 a month and get a bonus compared to $3.75 a month w/ no bonus

Holy shit then don't fucking buy the subscription. fucking ingrates on this website, just because it doesn't suit you doesn't mean you have to partake in the thread. The "c" must stand for cunt because thats what you complainers are.

I'm not convinced I want to extend my XBL for a full year and my current sub ends in December, now I'm good till March AND I get 800 MSP, this is a great deal for me.

Well said. I ended up picking one up because I need some MS Points and my Live subscription ends in like a week and don't want to pay $45 for a years worth right now.

The C stands for check your math.

3.60 a month with a "bonus" implies that this package deal costs $10.80 (3x3.60 with "bonus"). It costs 19.99. There is no "bonus".

My math is fine. The bonus is the package savings. $3.60 x 3 + $10 < $3.75 x 3 + $10.

hes basically saying you get 10$ worth of points so if you were going to buy them anyway it takes 10$ off the cost, which makes 3 months of xbl 10.80$ which equals 3.60$ a month, where as 12 months for 45.00 = 3.75$ a month.

hence if you needed to get 10$ in xbl monies then its cheaper, if you dont, then its more expensive.

Im not sure how it could be any clearer than what I just stated.
Not much of a deal when you consider that you can usually get a full year card for $30 or $40 and point cards for less than MSRP.
agreed, IMO

In on this, thanks OP!

Maybe my maths is wonky, but I'm thinking that it's like buying $10 in ms points, and getting 3 months of XBL for $5, at a rate of $20/year (i.e. lower than the ~$35 lowest price I've seen).

I didn't get the points code immediately, but it does say 24 hours, so not worried.

A little concerning that you're asked to enter your credit card info, which is already on file. I kept checking the URL to make sure I was really on Amazon. It seems to be legit.

There's nothing in the review page, confirmation page or confirmation email about a pending 800 point bonus. I hope that won't be a problem, as it seems to have been for a previous poster.

I just got in in the $15 deal too.

Kinda wish I would have checked this thread though first...has anyone actually received their 800pt code yet? :whistle2:(

I am thinking the same thing. I mean, I'm not a mathematician or anything but that's how I mentally broke down the price.

Yeah it's basically less than a 1.70 per month if you are gonna spend the 800 MSP anyway. I picked one up, thanks!

This is to prevent fraud. If someone hacked your account and ordered digital goods, you would be SOL as they would get the codes instantly.

I got in on this knowing how well amazon handles themselves. This will be one of the best deals on live when it goes through.
