From what I've seen, Gamestop charges MSRP for every single game 100% of the time, so this will likely be the MSRP for the game.
Gamestop is usually the first to reflect proper MSRP for games, while other retailers like Amazon follow suit later on once they get around to reading the memo.
This game doesn't look like a full-price 3DS game, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo knows that, so I'm positive it will be $34.99 everywhere come release.
And, as always, Gamestop will likely be the worst choice for your money, unless you're an avid pin collector.
In fact, Gamestop usually charges $5 MORE for Nintendo games, as well as $5 more for accessories like the Wii Zapper ($24.99), Wii Wheel $15.99), and Wii Motion Plus ($24.99). It's disgusting.
Even the new Kirby Mass Attack game, which is $29.99 everywhere else, has Gamestop proudly touting a $34.99 price tag for it. |
Royal High Knight is correct. They advertised HG/SS as $34.99 for months, and i paid for it in full. I even kept my preorder after Amazon matched.
Fast forward to release date, they informed me that i owed $5.40 on it...I tried to explain that i had paid the advertised price in full and they tried to tell me that Gamestop doesn't know how much Nintendo will charge until it releases.
I grabbed a guide book on the way out to make up the difference. those guys.
I'm sure it's just an arbitrary passcode like the ones that are posted in Nintendo Power that will be posted on GameFAQs for the world to find and use.
Oh wow, I didn't know amazon had a preorder bonus. But like Kitoro said, the code will probably be posted on GameFAQs for all to use since I know Nintendo does not utilize unique DLC codes. If amazon lowers it to $34.99 then I'll get it there since I have credit from them anyways.
