2 Day Sale with 30% Off Used Books, CDs and Movies when you buy 3 or more. Deets in the first post. Like usual it excludes most graphic novels and all video games.

Wish it was another 40% off. 30% offs basically just offsets to regular prices on Amazon nowadays. ~_~

Usually I agree, but I was able to find 5 things I wanted on my wishlist that were at or below amazon price before the discount, which is an improvement over the past 3 months.

Going into week 3 of 3/$21 used books. Otherwise not much else going on. They might have some music deals later in the week for Record Store Day.

I'm not buying as much. But, I'll admit it, I'm still buying. Maybe they found their sweet spot to move product without getting decimated.

That said, 20 years from now I'll be tellin' the kids about the amazing Hastings sales of 2011 and 2012. Right after I tell them about that Circuit City 5$ game sale.

From what I understand from some of my friends that live in the area, there are still some good deals in store. I just dont see them online. I havent bought anything much since january except for the last 30% off sale I got 8 items. I live in FL, so no local stores for me (yet I still get taxed....). Maybe they are moving more towards the HPB model of more in store sales to avoid having to ship things and have them get damaged...?

I've been ordering a bunch over the 5/$25 and 3/$21 deals and even a few lower price books from that 30% off 2 day sale they had. There's just not much to report on since for the exception of a mass market paperback novel I got yesterday, I haven't received any plastic bagged items. I've been getting a variety of plastic bubble mailers, manilla bubble mailers, stiff cardboard manilla mailers, and the thin profile boxes. So basically everything has arrived in good enough shape, so no need to post and complain. I guess I had one $5 book from a 5/$25 bundle arrive with the cover half dipped in water or oil so they asked me to return that, but that's sadly not even the worst condition item I've received from them overall.

There are actually multiple used video games I'm interested in buying, but without a sale I'm not going to touch them. It's strange that a bunch of things on my wishlist keep creeping up with those new high prices, but other things are super low - it's like their pricing algorithm isn't applied evenly or something. But that's mostly with movies. All of the used games I'm interested in are overpriced. Most books are overpriced too but with the 5/$25 and 7/$21 it doesn't really matter.

How often do sales for new games happen like the previous B1G1 40% off we had a few weeks ago?

Very rarely, and even more so nowadays.

During their usual sales games are generally excluded, so it's very rare, or at least rare to have a decent sale on games, and with the fun house mirror prices they have now it's even harder to find great deals on a regular basis during sales.

Used games sales of any kind seem exceedingly rare. Even if they had a used sale, prices are so high it might not be worth it anyway. They seem to be focusing more on mediocre new game sales that end up price matching Amazon or maybe end up a few bucks cheaper depending on your tax situation.

And I guess I spoke too soon about order issues - I got a book today with the spine damaged and dust jacket ripped. Waste of my time and money since that book was the reason I made that particular 3/$21 order.

30% off used CDs w/code: JUKEBOOK
3 for $12 CDs w/code: JAMSESSION
Free Shipping on Vinyl w/code: 33RPM

Nothing terribly exciting but someone might get something from it.

Just a heads up: Hastings will be having 40% off when you buy 4 or more used books, CDs or movies on Sunday and Monday. Of course, this excludes video games and (most) graphic novels. This doesn't preclude the possibility of other deals or promotions appearing tonight, but it's probably not going to be much worth waiting up for.

Thanks for the notice ... I stayed up until the sales switched the last few weeks and was disappointed that it stayed with the 3/21 books. I was planning on ignoring gohastings until tomorrow morning, but it looks like I'll be sitting around waiting for it to switch over.

Workin on it

Code:HAPPYHIPPY

When you buy 4 or more USED Books, CDs, or Movies. Excludes Games & Graphic Novels.

Beware, code may not be fully functioning yet even if it shows at page prior to submitting order, so just remember that for now.

I'd give it another 10 minutes just to be safe, otherwise you will have to have them adjust it after the fact as I will have to. ~_~

Not surprised that everything seemingly goes OOS for a 40% off. Also happens when a discount is combined with free shipping. ;) The Hastings deals of 2011 and 2012--when default prices for movies was 99 cents, almost all GNs were $2, books were default at $3.49 and console games were 99 cents and up--are things of the past.

I think GH finally wised up -- from THEIR perspective -- that were taking a bath on these sales. Other than a few scattered titles I think buying from GH in general is going to be a thing of the past for most of us.

What are you guys talking about! My wishlist only has 40 items and 2 of them are in stock at the moment LMAO :applause: Good job GH good job
It's good that I moved to greener pastures before they started their spiral down to deceiving tactics such as this.

.

I still have a backlog of Win 98 games sealed, at least I'm done w/ my floppies!
