Having turned 21 in January, I have taken an extreme interest in gambling. Though gambling in itself is really risky and this being a CHEAP community ;) I'm not sure how many of you enjoy it or have access to any casinos.

I live in an area where there are 3 casinos within a 5 mile radius of my home so they are usually a place I go to spend time and blow (win) some money. I am an avid Video Poker player and since January I have had some pretty good runs. The most memorable one being a Royal Flush on a $1 machine and cashing out on $800. Second highest being $500 on a $2.50 Deuces Wild Machine (4 Deuces) and multiple $250 hands.

Do you like going to the casino? What do you play and have you had any good runs?

I enjoy playing poker tournaments on the weekend. Sometimes I play every weekend and other times I won't play for a couple of months.

I also love to play blackjack, I'll go to the local casinos with a couple buddies randomly and play $50-$100 bucks and see where it takes me.

I've been wanting to enter a Poker tournament myself but I don't think I'm too good. How much is the buy in and what's the prize pool like?

I play poker and black jack but nothing else. I don't have the need to give away money. On blackjack I always assume the dealers down card is 10 since there are 16 cards in each deck that equal 10. That's 30% of the deck versus 7% for every other card. As far as poker is concerned you have to be able to read people if you can't you're going to lose everything.

Around here the cheapest you'll find is $35, and that's if you don't do an add-on or re-buy. But they get up $250 or so depending on the day of the week and casino.

Just put aside a set amount to lose or spend on the entertainment of playing. You will lose if you play for any significant amount of time. If you win any substantial amount of money just quit right then and leave (may be tough if you go with other people who want to play a while).

One of my friends says in Vegas some hotels will comp you drinks every 15 mins or so, so it depends on time spent playing not how much you've lost or played. Penny slots are eligible, so the cheapass strategy is to go play those, which will slowly erode your money but you can probably have a drink for about 20 cents each time.

I live in a smaller area, 30,000 population or so for the biggest city around and we get $20 buy-ins and rebuys depending on the night. Some get up to $100 or $200 buy-ins for holiday or even weekend tournaments.

As far as poker is concerned you have to be able to read people if you can't you're going to lose everything.

That's not always true, especially in smaller areas. There always seems to be a local group of regular players that think they are the next Doyle Brunson but most can't play for shit anyway. I'm not a great player by any means but if you get lucky you don't always have to read faces very well. Especially if your new to a group, just wait till you get a good hand or two then play them as if your bluffing, look at people a bit funny around the table, act a little too excited about betting, then lay out a good sized raise or two. You'll get a couple people to bite eventually and once you catch them thinking your bluffing once or twice and you take a good stack of their chips they won't be so inclined to assume your bluffing everytime.

Regulars usually feel as if new faces are easy money for the taking but if you don't play stupid it won't always be the case.

I've played some blackjack and poker. Definitely more blackjack though I would have to go way too far away for reasonable poker table limits. It's def a good idea to leave if you hit it big one hand or just play a smaller table really slow.

I went to a buddy's place in NC and we went to check out the casino before leaving the state and it was garbage. Virtual blackjack and poker tables... wtf. I don't know if any of you guys would like that but I want to see the actual cards.

Most of the time I just like playing a good home game.

If your local casino has it, sign up for their rewards program. I went to Vegas on by birthday in February, stayed at Planet Hollywood, gambled for three nights, and ended up breaking even. I've had several free offers for comp rooms, I could go back once a month for 3 nights if I wanted. I know they want me to gamble more and actually lose next time. I've gone back once, in July, and will be back in January for free again.

Never actually played any table games or slots, but I've played lottery tickets back when I worked at a gas station and I've bet on horses down in Charles Town once. Terrible at horses, but I sometimes had good luck on tickets. You'd hear all sorts of crazy theories. I tried them a few times and they actually worked for me halfway decently.

Reward cards are great. I get $25 Comp Money to play every Thursday and Sunday. I usually just gamble with that instead of my money. They also give me hotel rooms and money for food. It is pretty nice if you know what you're doing and have a bit of luck on your side. I'm not gonna lie though, I've fallen victim to greed plenty of times and instead of coming home with some profit I end up leaving empty handed. I really need to be careful :x

I gamble a good bit off and on. I've recently taken a likening to blackjack. There's some good strategy involved if you just pay attention. You'd be surprised at the number of people who make boneheaded moves.

I live near Atlantic City and go there on occasion and never really had a crazy run, but never really tried. Just remember that the house always wins and good runs also go with bad. My game is roulette and even just playin the side bets is great for the payout but money can go quickly. Poker seems the way to go if you want to play for a long time. I usually do drive bys and just drop a bet on the side, then take my winnings and wander around. As you can tell, I have little patience for sitting at a table for to long.

I played a lil blackjack back in the day when I first turned 18. My dad took me up to Turning Stone Casino up near Syracuse(NY). It's a "dry" casino on the gaming floor or at least it was when I was there.

I lost about $100-150 playing the minimum bet at the blackjack tables, but that was cuz I played stupid then.

Since then I've only actually gambled in a casino maybe 2-5 times total and usually only when the casino was giving away free money during a promo.

What's funniest is I've actually won $150-200 a couple of times on their money.;)

Otherwise I stick to $1-2 instant lottery tickets and only buy those very sporadically.

i added a link to more wang pics. yu wang i mean not wang wang as in penis.

I play mostly blackjack and generally do okay since I always stop once I'm up or down around $150-200. I also play some Pai Gow poker, usually when I hit my target and need to kill some time since there are usually no big swings.

I go to the casino a few times a month. I only play slots and occasionally video poker or blackjack.

I play for fun but hope to win some money too of course. Depending on the machine I play .10 to .30 a spin. One of my favorite slot machines, Wizard of Oz requires you to play at least .30 (all 30 lines) to get all the bonus games. My biggest win was also on that machine, $102.50 on 1 spin betting .30 a spin. Glinda showed up randomly on a spin and made 4 reels wild similar to this (not my video):

My 2nd favorite machine is Monopoly Planet Go which is a space themed Monopoly machine, I usually bet .20 a spin on that game. The bonus is a lot of fun since there are bonus games within the bonus game. If you get the space bonus, you can get the space station bonus and planet bonus that are normally separate within the space bonus (I know that is confusing if you never played it).

One casino about an hour away from me had 2 really cool Atari slot machines. 1 was Breakout and the other was Pong. There was actually a dial controller like on an Atari paddle on the machine and when you got the bonus you got to play a round of Pong against the computer or 1 level of Breakout and the amount of money you won depended on how well you played. Sadly they were removed earlier this year.

I hardly ever play slot machines but on very rare occasions I will mess around on them. I ended up winning $125 on a 50 cent spin before. It was on the Quick Hits. I went into bonus and got like 14 free spins then during the free spins I got another 14. It was awesome haha.

I basically stick to Video Poker 99.9% of the time. Whether I play 25 cents a hand or, 5 dollars. It gets to be pretty volatile at the $5 level though because you can either come up really fast, or lose really fast as well. :/

Ahh, just the thread I was searching for. When I use to live near the Indian casinos, I would go once every other month or so with some friends. Played some blackjack and craps. On my reno trip last year I won about $400 on my last night on the craps table. Played the slots just for fun a few times, nothing too big out of it except a few dollars.

In the area I'm in now, I recently begun to go to the local card room for some poker. I had a few good streaks but I just got killed today. 3/6 No limit, lost my first $100 on a King High flush vs. Ace high. I rebought for $40, but lost it when I flopped a queen flush with pocket 6/9 suited, but on the river a 4th heart came out, and the guy had the ace of hearts. Just walked away after that, figured I wasnt going to get any luckier today. -_-

Nothing to see here, move along!

p90x workout schedule offers a challenge and an experience that I think anyone who is interested in fitness would appreciate. Remember to keep track of your progress. The results are what will keep you going on the days when you think you might puke. Don’t feel bad if you can’t keep up the first or second week.

Optimal effects, in minimal time. What is considered most enjoyed from those that practice the insanity workout schedule Workout is you do not have to be at a gym, you're able to do the exercise routines at your house at just sixty minutes a day. It is said that this definitely will test ones limitations both psychologically and physically.

I used to play a lot back in the day when the casino rules around SoCal were 18 or older. I slowly moved to playing online poker and raked in some good cash. Now, I don't have the time or motivation. So many players think they can win it all with 7 3 off suit!

OK for casual fun, I wouldn't try to make a comeback or anything. I got greedy one time with roulette and lost about $120. My parents won about $900 the other week from playing 1cent and $1 machine. Once they got those earnings it was time to cash out!

What the heck? Loose players are the ones you make your money off of. The tight ones aren't gonna be throwing in money unless they have you beat...

The thing is, they're unpredictable. Yes, you can take advantage of the guy who plays any two cards, but I always seem to be on the losing end when my trip kings fall to the guy who made an inside straight on the river with his pocket 5-3 unsuited. That example has happened to me before.

I worked for a large casino for a few years and had access to player records. I knew every bet you made, every dollar you lost. My advice is to save your gambling for vegas, not anywhere near home. There were no winners, only levels of losers. Ive seen people lose millions at a time, and for every guy who bragged about winning 500, I would check their history and find 2k in losses to win 500.

Can't just look at one hand though. The beauty of poker is that it's designed so that even the retards win every once in a while. If they don't, the game degrades into consisting of tightwads who only play large pocket pairs...aka boring as hell. Just keep playing strong hands against the maniacs, as you're often a ~2:1 favorite on the hands you do choose to go in with against him. Poker is all about adjusting your play against different players.

I just keep running into that kind of luck I suppose. I can recall numerous times I have been beaten by a river with two cards that I personally would have folded after the flop or turn. Their bankrolls are often quite large too, I have a good feeling they're on the losing end after the night, but "that" guy's ability to rebuy in 4 or 5 times kills me when I'm risk adverse on only losing one buy, sometimes I buy in for half again but I quit after that if I fall to ruin. I know I need to leave earlier too, I find myself where I should have left half an hour ago, I walk away with a win but it would have been a lot more if I had.

Nothing to see here, move along!

I don't go that often, but when I do. I usually stick to blackjack and i do alright. Not too much of fan of slot machines since 90% of time I've played or been with people that play. It always ends in a lost, but my favorite one is the Wheel of Fortune one where if you land a "Free Spin", you get X amount of credits.
