Agreed, but I'd switch future press with piggyback.

I've been unimpressed with Future as well, but only because the walkthroughs they write are a mess. Dark Souls was a prime example how not to do a guide because it read like a choose your own adventure book, constantly flipping pages to get all the info on a single area. Less encyclopedia, more walkthrough Future. . .

Agreed, but I'd switch future press with piggyback. I think piggy back is the best, I love the artwork they include and the detailed vibrant pages. Like the uncharted 3 hardback, that was amazing to look at. I only have dark souls and Soul Calibur from future press and they are great books, but overall boring to look at haha.

I'm very much anticipating the MGR guide from piggyback.

Yeah, I went back and forth on Future Press and Piggyback. At the end of the day, they're both top notch because they do an excellent job with extra content (developer interviews, concept art, story discussions, etc). And they don't skimp on paper quality.

Speaking of Future Press, are they still in business? They haven't done anything since Kingdoms of Amalur. Seems like we would've heard about new titles by now.

I'll be the third person to say that Piggyback is better than Future Press. So the list should go like this

Piggyback
Future Press
Brady/Prima <----- 75% of the time, they're both equally bad

This is based on personal experience, but Piggyback's guides are prettier, better layouted, and their walkthroughs are pretty spot on.

Amazon listing says it has 320 pages. Is that correct?

Prima guides are usually poorly done...unless they're written by David S J Hodgson.
His books are head and shoulders above ANY other guides that I own.

Correct.
The Fallout guides, Skyrim, KOTOR, Twilight Princess, Halo Wars & ODST, The Orange Box, the first Assassin's Creed.
...and one of my favorites that he's done, the Alan Wake guide.

No, I think they bid for contracts on a game ahead of time.

The bioshock guide looks pretty slick, and the Dead Space 3 guide reminds me of the Skyrim guide for some reason, maybe because they both seem enormous

Think it went back up again, that was fast :( I was planning on getting it and for $20.xx it's a no brainer. I still put up a pre-order for it. Not big on guides, but the cover for that game looks great.

Have you actually seen the Dead Space 3 CE guide in person? It's much, much thinner than the Skyrim guide.

We'll only see less and less competition amongst guides over time. Capitalists absolutely hate competition and there is no motivation for them to lower prices for us. They're much better off conspiring against the consumer to keep prices as high as possible.

As of right now, the MGR:R and Bioshock Infinite CE guides are at their lowest prices yet--$20.58 and $22.63, respectively. I finally preordered both. :D

Bump to remind people that those prices for the MGR:R and Bioshock Infinite CE guides are still active, and that the Tomb Raider CE guide is also $22.63, the lowest I've seen it thus far.

That's pretty sweet. Here's to hoping TR and Bioshock end up around $20-ish. :) I was getting a bit worried that the price drops were not going to happen anymore, because both of them started to raise in price.

Now I wait for a Last of Us LE guide. :P

The Skryim guide is pretty big indeed, right up there with the Borderlands GOTY guide, Fallout 3 GOTY CE guide and a few of the other heavyweights in size of guide.

Just checked on the status of my MGR: Revengeance LE guide Amazon order. Appears to be a minor delay. Won't be showing up today, but sometime over the next week or so. Probably just late to show up to the Amazon warehouses. Anybody else seeing a minor blip in their order status?

FYI: It is still just $20.58 ... http://www.amazon.co...tmm_hrd_title_0
