I've poked around CAG forums and decided this was probably the best place to ask this.

I bought a backwards compatible PS3 20gig a while ago, replaced the HD to 80gig. I recently heard these things go for inordinate amounts of money.

I have a small collection of ps2 games that I keep for nostalgia purposes now, and have little to no need of the backwards compatibility.
My question is this: Would it be intelligent to sell this ps3 and try to buy a newer ps3 for less and pocket the difference?

I DO update the firmware to play online, if that makes a difference.

20 GB = no wifi and a lot less features. As the above poster said, it isn't worth that much. Even my launch 60GB console isn't worth that much anymore. People have finally seemed to have gotten over the lack of backwards compatibility in their current consoles so our old ones aren't worth the premium anymore.

Oh. I was checking them on ebay, they seem to be going for 250 to 300. I could probably net 50 dollars or so. But that's why I checked here first.
