Why does an old guy have a bunch of kids with him while he hits on college girls? Hmm...seems suspicious...the whole thing seems suspicious.

It's a true story...I can't make this stuff up xD

Okay so I work at the goodwill in Donations. And I swear people think we are the free dump. People donate the most disgusting things I have ever seen. And probably the worst and most disgusting donations was a pair little kids underwear with a full load in them that they just stuck in a garbage bag, which I happened to stick my hand in on accident while sorting it. Needless to say I was not happy about it but the rest of my co-workers were dying of laughter.

That's horrible.

If it makes you feel better when I donate clothes to goodwill. I wash and dry them. A few times I folded them and put them in Rubbermaid bins. When I went to drop them off the person, just grabbed the bin and dumped them into a large blue bin like it was a recycling bin for the trash man. I took the time to make them awesome and he did that. Well it only hurt my feelings. Now I just wash them and put them in bags. But now I can totally see the person who opens them with a full on hazmat suit.

I work at Verizon in email support. I respond to customer emails all day long. Some are just basic questions but we get a lot of 'escalated' issues, people who have gone to the store, called multiple times, and they haven't gotten the answer they want so they email us thinking we're a higher level when really we're just another means of contact. Everyone seems to think they are emailing the CEO.

The biggest one for me that stands out recently is this guy who sends us an email about his new replacement hotspot. It is a long ranting email where he is mad that the new hotspot isn't working well. He can connect it to his computer but gets no internet connection. He makes a point of saying how he gets a better connection when he isn't connected to it than when he is. How the one this is replacing had issues but it was so much better than this... he never activated it. The old one is still active... and he has had the replacement almost two weeks. So then I have to find a way to send an email reply (as he didn't answer a call) saying you need to activate without also saying you're a moron.

We also get a lot of people asking for an upgrade... 6 months after they just did. And if we don't let them they'll cancel. A month or two early? Possible depending on the phone, though not a guarantee. A year early? Not happening.

The other ones that really bug me is when they are having a problem with their phone or device and they need troubleshooting. Yet they say we can't call them. And they gave us almost no info about the problem. So the best I can really recommend is restart it and if that doesn't work call us.

There are also the ones where they clearly admit they don't understand a charge. Please explain and credit... if I can explain it, I won't be crediting it because it's right. Or the ones where they just don't believe what 8 people have told them. Yes ma'am, to use your corporate email you do need a corporate data feature. No, we don't make an exception for iPhones. I don't care if the people at your work who have iPhones insist they don't pay for this, they are either wrong or they don't have their corporate email on their phones. Or the one guy who insists he has all kinds of friends with Verizon who have no data plan on their smart phone and he wants to remove his... our system won't even allow it.

For the most part I do like my job but it definitely doesn't improve my feelings towards people in general.

I had a job where I had to go door to door asking for monthly donations for different charities (quit after three days). I honestly never knew there were so many weird people in my city… There was one time where I was out with my trainer and he knocked on a door with a tiny “no soliciting” sign (I wouldn’t have personally knocked on those doors but he argues that it could be from a previous owner), there was no response so we moved onto the next door. We got to about two houses down and when that first door opened, and out walks a middle aged man who was half naked. He looked around and when he saw us talking to one of his neighbors, he started yelling at the top of his lungs. I won’t repeat his use of language here but the gist of it was that we couldn’t read and were basically the stupidest people alive. It got to the point where other people in the neighborhood came out just to see what was going on. The guy we were talking to started defending us and telling him that we were just there for charities, and that man went into the house and slammed the door. I was basically just standing there stunned until the entire thing blew over…

Another time, a short lady came out dressed in an extremely dirty looking dress that looked like it came from the 1800’s like the ones worn by pilgrims, and (I kid you not) had a moustache down to her chest area. I was really shocked but couldn’t really just leave so I started to say my speech. I got to the point where I was telling her where I’m from and asked her if she knew the charity, and realized that she was not responding at all just staring blankly at me. I asked her a couple more questions to which she had no response. At that point, I got really freaked out and kinda just said goodbye and left. But if I’m not imagining things I think her pupils were enlarged.

OMG That reminds of of yet ANOTHER time when I went to a house with the door slightly open, which is normally a good sign. I knocked on it anyways and a guy got off the couch to come to the door. He had a dress shirt on but I couldn't help noticing that he wasn't wearing any pants... That made for one of the most awkward conversations ever! He was super embarrassed and actually pretty good looking but it's beyond me why he had the door open.

I used to work for a cable company and went to people house/apartments to install a cable modem.

One apartment, the gentleman was nice, but his entire apartment on every wall was decorated with posters of women. Some were the clothed bikini girls on cars. Others were posters of porn stars, some were custom pictures of women, I can only assume were strippers. He had hats with strip club logos on at racks. It was creepy. Think of a 12 year old male wit raging hormones and how they would decorate their ultimate place. Yep, that might have been it.

I had to ask if he owned a business, and he said he worked as a mechanic. I'm not sure why I thought he had to be in the adult industry.

That is actually not true we don't have the facilities to wash them. They just re-hang them on a hanger, price them and put them on the racks. It's too expensive to wash them. But we do appreciate it when they are washed and don't smell like mold or moth balls. Also folding them isn't necessary and I am not looking forward to the 6 days after Christmas. They are the busiest 6 days in the entire year!

Most of my experiences as of late involve "where is item x" questions when the person is standing next to the item or staring at it. That changed today.

A woman was yelling at me because the store didn't have a gift card with Hannukah designs on it. I offered to look for it in the other gift card sections and she was complaining at how far she walked from the registers to the Hannukah aisle (takes less than a minute) and demanded that I find "Kay" because "she knows where everything is". She probably thought I wouldn't bother because she had a surprised look on her face when I contacted "Kay" on my walkie and asked her if she saw the cards.

Her response: "I've never seen them in the store".

She then started to ask for someone at guest service. Fortunately, we were about to have a "team huddle" so a group of team members arrived to further illustrate we didn't have the cards. I think she was intimidated by the group because she suddenly became thankful and proceeded to walk away.

I also noticed that this woman had a $20 bill hanging out of her shirt.

All the bigwigs were in today (and I do mean ALL). My manager is paranoid normally so this was even moreso. We had to clean out every nook, cranny, and corner and the supervisors didn't leave until early morning (and had to be back at 5am). Most of them didn't leave until after 4pm today. Because of the bigwigs, we had to take out our manned register at self check out, which means we have to go to another register to look in store inventory, call a lot associate, or do a price check. They then turned the SCO monitor around, so we can either watch the monitor and have our backs to the customers or face the customers and not look at the monitor.

Then, I come in and there are two rows of managers down the entrance doors (think those arch of people things at sporting events) which creeped me out. Then, because I had such high customer service scores (because I had 2 survey responses! Huzzah!) they paraded me to the managers and had a mini-ceremony. I despise being "on stage" as it were.

And then a guy wanted to place a phone sale to a store in Cincinatti. I live in Baltimore, Maryland.

Missed out on the Great Walmart glitch of 11/6 due to FLAT TIRE

So I have been working at Kmart for the past 6 months in electronics. It's been nearly 10 years since I have worked in retail.
Oh my god things are just as bad as I remembered it.

-Not to sound racists (since I am hispanic) but here goes.
Based on my encounters here is what my typical every day experience with spanish customers.
(TV's)
Them: Whad the price? (looks at tv)
Me: (Points towards current price) $299.99
Them: OOOOOOoooooooh......
Me: walks away because I know they aren't going to buy it.
Them: Just stands there and stares at the tv then goes off and never comes back. It's like their entire day is ruined when I tell them the price.

(TV's part 2)
Them: Whad the price? (looks at tv)
Me: (Points towards current price) $299.99
Them: OOOOOOoooooooh......
Me: Getting ready to walk away.
Them: Can I put it LAY-OHHH-Wey? (yes that's how they say it).
Me: Yes you can.
Them: How Much?
Me: I don't know, depending on tax, and if you add the service plan. I machine (register) will tell me.
Them: ok.... yes (meaning lets do it).
Me: Process the layaway, Ring them up, offer service plan (some times they take it, other times they don't)
Me: Ok your minium deposit is $XX.XX today.
Them: Ooooohhhh ok.....thank you no want (then they walk away).
Me: Since I can't do shit on my account, I have to get someone from layaway to void it.
Big waste of time for me.

Yesterday when I was looking up our layaway tickets to see if there are anyone late on their payments, one lady was just standing at my register without saying a word. When I finally said "Can I help you?", I got the usual "Speaka spanish?". My usual reply is in spanish "What do you want?/Tell me"
She goes off and shoves her camera in my face asking if I had the battery and memory card for her camera. One good look at it and I knew we didn't have that battery but we had the memory card (SD). It erked me that she did that so I really didn't care to help her that much. When I told her we didn't have that battery, she repeated to me that I didn't have it and then said "ooooooohhh".. She turns around and tells her husband that we don't have it and he repeated "They don't have it?" and she said no...and he said "Ooooooohhhh". :wall:

Brown Thursday shift (7:45 to 3:45am) was a nightmare. One terminal and they put me on that terminal while the other two clowns (other employees) were on the floor helping customers. 3 hrs of people wanting tv's/dsi's and so on.

A lot of people tried to pull fast ones on me including a couple who tried TWICE during my shift. First time they tried to get that phone that was 100 dollars for 38 I think. Looked at the add as they shoved it in my face. Gave it a two second look and noticed it was folded at the bottom half, so I flipped it and noticed the top part said "5am to xx FRIDAY". Told them that's tomorrow's sale and I can't give it to them now because the system wouldn't let me over ride that price. They tried to argue with me to honor friday's price on a thursday night and it couldn't be done.

Three hours later they come back to my line and got a Wii with the 30 dollar coupon promo. Because it was getting nuts, I forgot to ask them for their member card and the system didn't give them the 30 dollar coupon. They got pissed and wanted me to give them a refund on the spot and I told them I can't refund as my terminal doesn't let me do it. Other customers were getting pissed at them for holding up the line. They eventually went up to customer service and left.

For some strange reason the system was not honoring the DSI price promo for members and I had to try several times and had a manager look into it because it was causing a long line delay. Eventually our rewards and layaway system crashed. Not good.

My co-workers can sometimes be cool and other's just out ride rude. Just because I work in electronics doesn't mean I can fix your TV or dropped broken screen phone. Nor will I "hold" stuff for you in the back unless you put it on layaway.

When I was doing the weekly audit a few months ago, I found a PS3 that looked like it was opened. I checked it out and found the controller missing. Reported it to my department manager, who was some 20 year old kid and he said he will look into it. Reported it to security and they said they will monitor the situation. Weeks later I find out our department manager was stealing shit from the gaming systems (controllers mostly). I was like what the Fuck dude? He continued to steal shit after he knew they were on to him.

Management hired this one kid because when I told them I would be gone for two weeks for my wedding and honeymoon, they actually though I was quitting when I wasn't. So this kid was the biggest Fuck up in the department and when I did another audit a few weeks back I found out that someone took out a Vita and replaced it with battery packs. Management did NOTHING about it.
Just before Black Friday weekend, we were told not to sell a certain stock of tv's and I even labeled it DO NOT SELL (as per management approval and directive). That fuckhead takes one of the tv's, put it aside for a customer saying that she could put it on layaway NOW and get it for the cheaper price on the weekend sale. Guess what? the plan blew up in his face.
The lady came back the day of the sale and not only found out her tv was sold to another customer but told management that he told her she could get it at the cheaper price that day. Management told her that he would be fired the next day and ended up giving them an LG model worth 200 dollars more. Dumbass ended up quitting instead.

Pretty much all my managers are paranoid and go into full mental break down when our manager is expected to come in the next day for inspection.. Some people need to calm down and take things lightly.

One manager ended up in the hospital because of stress and being overworked. She was ordered two weeks rest from work from her doctor because of her health... Instead of complying, she comes back to work with the fear if she didn't. She lose her job. I polietly reminded her that it's actually against the law for an employer to terminate an employee who is under doctor's spefic instructions when it comes to work and would be instantly protected and represented by the government. Of course she ignored me and now is still in a lot of pain.

I also have co-workers who cheat on their time clock punches by "hanging out" talking to other employees and not working for two hours before finally punching out. If you are gonna stay, then work, if not get a life and get the Fuck out of here lol.

Two customers want the same washer..we don't have any of them in stock...another store has one. I tell the first hillbilly that the store has one left, go NOW if you want it, then I go to the second customer (another Oooh spanish guy) and tell him he better get going to the other store because they have one left. The hillbilly is already ahead by 1 minute while it takes the second guy to process the concept GO NOW if you want the item because the other guy is on his way to get it. After he finally gets it, he just walks off taking his time. I guess if you need to take that long to process that concept of GO NOW if you want it, then you deserve to loose it.

Selling Xmas trees like crazy. Service desk sales I have a call for electronics.....90% of the calls is either for xmas stuff for out side of my department. No we don't sell Music cd's (anymore).

That "Free Layaway" promo was sure misleading a few weeks back. Use to get a shit load of items for people to put on layaway only for them to still have to put down a minimum deposit. Got accused of "Bait and switching", threats to sue me personally for false advertising all because Management and Corp. couldn't properly advertise this as "No layaway fee!!" (which is only 5 bucks).

I never did understand the "Ooooooohhhh" thing either. We have a lot of Hispanic contractors (about 1/3 of whom speak broken English at best) who do the same thing.

A lot of people tried to pull fast ones on me including a couple who tried TWICE during my shift. First time they tried to get that phone that was 100 dollars for 38 I think. We had this promo a few weeks ago where you trade in your old Christmas lights for a coupon off certain new lights, mainly the LED lights. They just looked at the brand name and got the cheapest one, which wasn't LED, and got pissed that we apparently had false advertising, even though the coupon very clearly said LED and the lights he got were 3 bays away from the sale items.

My co-workers can sometimes be cool and other's just out ride rude. Just because I work in electronics doesn't mean I can fix your TV or dropped broken screen phone. Nor will I "hold" stuff for you in the back unless you put it on layaway.

I get that a lot at the Garden registers, as well as the hardware register back when we had that, but mostly from customers.

Pretty much all my managers are paranoid and go into full mental break down when our manager is expected to come in the next day for inspection.. Some people need to calm down and take things lightly.

As I said above, it happens a lot. Manager was even more freaked out as the store CEO Frank Blake was apparently coming the day after that big walk I mentioned earlier. Never showed up. Also had one manager who had to quit due to the stress the higher ups were dumping on her.

Forgot to mentioned that I get bitched at by the bitch at the customer service desk if my rewards cards sign ups are "low"...yet she and her "crew" allows returns of electronic gaming systems with missing stuff without calling us to do an inspection. Management does nothing, so we are basically a rental place. :( I also have other co-workers who REFUSE to learn English (mostly stocking people on the floor) dump customers on me. At first I am thinking the need electronics help but it's mostly the other departments they need help in. This gets on my nerves all the time.

As a matter of fact that same co-worker dumps this couple on me because she thought I am middle eastern when she and I have talked in spanish before. So I am stuck with this couple who only speak arabic for 20 mins trying to figure out what the Fuck they are saying. No one in the store speaks arabic. Of course the couple walks off annoyed...ok Fuck that. I go back to that same co-worker and tell her do not dump your customers on me and no I do not speak arabic. Only send them to me IF they need help in electronics.

Heck I have started getting a number of customers using credit cards not belonging to them and claiming it's their wife or disabled sister's card and that I can "call them" for verification. Fuck that..don't waste my time pulling this shit because I will inspect the card, signature and photo id every time. If your name is not on it, I am not taking it.

Another time some guy wanted to buy a Vita for his 3 year old daughter.....umm yeah ok...whatever. He starts writing me a check and I noticed it's a non bank check(made at home?) with no name and some weird company on it. I asked him if this is his check and he said "yes I gave it to you so it's mine...". I asked for ID and he said it was in his car. Ran it thru anyways knowing the system would reject and capture the info and of course it rejected it so I gave the check back to him. He told me to hold it while he goes and gets cash. Never came back but I put it away anyways.

Customers will also get lazy with me on the phone if we don't have something in stock. They tell me I need to call other stores and call them back when I find it........they give me their number (which they start saying even though I have no pen or paper on me). I tell them I'll call back in a few hours and hang up...then go over to the trash can and throw away the number...Fuck them for making demands. My fellow electronics co-worker gets suckered into it and I tell them no, it's not your job to call them back using your phone/minutes. They found our number on the internet, they can certainly find the other stores on there as well.

Security is also a joke. We have maybe one or two people in the store and that's it. They barely respond to calls.

Those motorized carts can be a bitch in my department as well. Management OCD's every other day on the layout then when a person (usually some lazy fat Fuck) using them comes thru my department, I get bitched at because my department is not "handicap accessible". WTF?!?!?
Speaking of which one time I got really busy in electronics and some like 14 year old heavy set black kid comes rolling into my department in the cart while talking on his iphone. Apparently not paying attention he swings the cart and round and crashes into the video game display case. I turn around and give him this "I'm going to kill you in a second" look. He turns the cart around while still on the phone and starts asking me the prices of random shit in my department. He then has the nerve to ask me for a discount coupon and I give them this "fuck off" look then he bitches that everything is to expensive and drives off before the battery dies on him.

I have had funny things happen to my coworkers as well. Like one of my coworkers left her drink on the counter and some random kid picked it up, took a big gulp, put it down and rejoined his mom in the line all infront of another one of my co-workers. Another coworker who spent like over an hour reorganizing and straightening the cosmetics department got pissed off because some un escorted kid comes in and thrashes an entire section she was working on in a matter of seconds.

Kids running around my department or in sporting goods playing with the basketballs or playing soccer also piss me off. I'm at the point where if they trip and fall and cry, I am just going to walk away laughing. We aren't your baby sitters, nor will I open a case for some kid without their parent so they can "look" at a game that they have no money to buy.

One time apparently the sister of one of the managers (this loud mouth bitch, who is all talk and no action) comes in and starts bitching at me because the other associate in electronics didn't relabel the tags as I asked him to. So Mario Kart DS was in the slot for Lego Lord of the Rings DS for 19.99. She then proceeded to tell me that I HAVE to give it to her at that price because it's in the wrong location. Ok so the rule I was taught is if the item is tagged with a lower price or someone forgets to take down the sale tag after the date has come and gone, then yes we will honor it IF it is the exact same item...in other words if Mario Kart was tagged for 19.99 and the sale was over, then yes she gets it...but it wasn't Mario Kart for 19.99, it was Lego LOTR DS.
She said it's ok and she will let it slide (excuse me?) and bought Mario Kart DS for the regular price. I immediately go and take out MK DS from that slot and replace it with LOTR DS. Mins later my manager comes on down and tells me to remove MK DS because that bitch went and complained to my manager about this. WTF?

I really don't understand why the higher ups try to make people quit. It takes too much time and money to replace and retrain people.

Security is also a joke. We have maybe one or two people in the store and that's it. They barely respond to calls.

That is more than us. We only have one guy. And if anyone other than him or a manager lays a hand on a theif, the associate gets fired. Gotta love that. Also, they introduced a bunch of magnetic locks on some of the tools, but the unlockers are attached to the checkouts. Which means people cut them off and don't return them. We used to have the removers at every register, including Tool Rental, Service Desk, and Pro Desk. Now we have 5 at all the registers combined.

Those motorized carts can be a bitch in my department as well.

We have 2 carts, one is super slow, the other only runs for about 10 minutes. Manager refuses to pay for a new battery.

I really don't understand why the higher ups try to make people quit. It takes too much time and money to replace and retrain people.

Because they look at everything by appearence and numbers and haven't actually worked retail since the mid-90's.

I hate spider wraps...they only come off for me like 40% of the time :(

Oh and I just hate it when customers FOLLOW ME to the backroom when I tell them let me check the back real quick. I don't like to be followed and know when I am being followed. Had this one customer actually enter the backroom while I was looking for her stuff and that pissed me off to the point where I stopped looking for her item and said "Maam customers are not authorized to be in the backroom and you have to leave now..." all the while she was trying to tell me she wanted to see what the item looked like.

Speaking of items...don't ever buy a large glass table and expect it to fit properly in the back of your convertible with the top down.

I always ask the customer if they have a large enough vehicle for the box and 60% of the time it's always no and they expect us to take it out of the box and put it into their car. Good luck when the cops pull you over for having shit sticking out of your car. Also what's up with people buying large stuff and having barely enough room to fit it in with all the shit in their cars?

And no we don't deliver for you........it's been asked several times.

What's up with food items people try to put on layaway. This has happened several times as well. Milk/Cheese will not be put in the employee fridge or even the store fridge so you can make the final payment later...seriously?

Customers will also get lazy with me on the phone if we don't have something in stock. They tell me I need to call other stores and call them back when I find it........they give me their number (which they start saying even though I have no pen or paper on me). I tell them I'll call back in a few hours and hang up...then go over to the trash can and throw away the number...Fuck them for making demands. My fellow electronics co-worker gets suckered into it and I tell them no, it's not your job to call them back using your phone/minutes. They found our number on the internet, they can certainly find the other stores on there as well.

I remember some guy actually came up to me once in store and asked if we had a specific ipod nano color in stock.
I told him, "no, sorry weve been out for a few days".
"Can you check if any of the other stores have it in stock"
"I'm sorry we dont have a retail specific inventory system, you can log on to any of our computers and go to the retail site, and it has the number for all the local stores if you want to call"
"You know what, I think youre lying. Youre just a lazy shit, that would rather lie than do his job"
Just smiled and said,"You know what, that guy right there is my manager, you can go and ask him if im a liar".

and of course, if you worked retail you know what happened next. My manager walks with him to a computer, finds out what store he would like to try and calls for him. And of course now he's tied up for the next 10 minutes just standing next to the guy on hold, accomplishing nothing the guy couldnt do for himself, which is exactly why were told not to call for a customer.

I've had customers who walk into the store, go to returns and tell them to page me to electronics when I am already in the department...all because they want me to drop whatever I am doing like helping ANOTHER customer and focus on these lazy bitches.

Yesterday was weird. I had one lady getting all pissed because she could not find the "Barrel" of 88 cents socks and that it was here an hour ago. (I came in less than 30 mins before this). I told her that either we sold out that quickly OR people put it on "lay-Oh-way". She makes me search softlines for this shit and I am like dude they are calling me to electronics. Finally we find this "barrel" with it being tagged 88 cents but everything scanning 2 to 4 dollars. Management hears this and said go ahead and give it to her for 88 cents. He pulls the tag from the barrel after she leaves. Now I know we have lazy fucks in softlines as well. I know my fellow co-workers are just dumping shit in random spots...I am sure it's the receiving people.

I had one creepy looking guy follow me then starts calling out, "HEY!!!"....."AMIGO!!!!"....*whistle*. I am not going to respond to that shit so go Fuck yourself. I think he got the idea when I started dodging in and out of isles. You want help? Come to me in my department! Everyone else outside of electronics can go f' themselves lol.

I swear if I get one more "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooohh" from another customer when I tell them the price or we don't have it am gonna do the same back to them.

Usually the people who buy Hannukah things are the worst customers during the holidays. This year, it was pretty good although there were complaints when we ran out of Hannukah wrapping paper DURING Hannukah. And here I was thinking you were suppose to wrap things BEFORE the holiday started.

Meanwhile in Christmas, our shelves are getting emptied and trashed with the amount of Christmas clearance selling and what is the most common question I hear:

"Do you have any more Christmas in the back"? with the most common request being Christmas lights (which we ran out of two weeks before Christmas). And they have the nerve to get angry at me as the store is packed with people buying stuff.

My most memorable retail experience was working at Starbucks 10 years ago. One night a customer had informed me that somebody took a dump that half landed on the side of the bowl and on the ground in the mens restroom. Somebody intentionally took a dump like that for whatever the hell reason. I didnt have any recent particular bad expierience with a customer so i wondered whether it was some dude taking it out on one of my coworkers. So the only 2 guys on shift (me and another guy) had to clean it up with mops and gloves. It is so horrific having to clean up after your own dump so having to handle some stranger's was almost traumatic.

Its hard to fully explain but imagine pieces of turd on the side of the bowl and most of them piled on the floor. I cant believe somebody tried to bend over and aim like that.

Ironically, i wasn't even scheduled to work that night. The night before the supervisor that was originally scheduled to work asked me to switch schedules with her.

hahahahaha funniest story i ever read! lol

I hate when customers ask if we have an item in the back room. Our back room is very small and unless a shipment of merchandise was delivered that day, the only merchandise back there is seasonal merchandise that is packed away for next year. When I say we don't have an item, at least half the time I am asked to go to the back and check. If I refuse they just ask another employee who also tells them we don't have it.

It always is worse before a holiday too. The day before a holiday they come in looking for something and get angry when it's sold out. We had Christmas merchandise out for 2 months, if they wait until the last day to buy something what do they expect? To relate to that, there are then the people that complain about holiday merchandise out too early. In mid October we would hear the comments like it's too early for Christmas items. The problem is, if we don't put out the items the people who want them that early will just go to another store.

I had someone ask me a few months ago if the store I work at does layaway. This is a store where nothing is more than $3, so obviously there would be no point to it. She acted surprised that it wasn't offered.

That happens all the time with the toy aisle. I always try to keep the store organized as well as most of the other employees but parents let their kids run around and mess everything up. Even the adults leave stuff wherever they want. At the register, instead of saying they don't want the item, they just leave it to the side of the counter most of the time.

I stopped saying anything to the kids. They ignore it and one time another employee nicely asked a kid to stop playing with some frying pans using them as cymbals saying he was worried she should get hurt and the mother started yelling at him saying "DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO MY CHILD LIKE THAT!"

In my case, the person would ask the other employee and the employee doesn't know. So that employee with the customer comes to me and asks the same question and the customer is embarrassed. Some people put this on themselves. I wish more people would stop acting like we are lying to them.

I'm so happy my store doesn't do layaway. In fact, I think layaway is a dumb idea. Either you can afford it or you cannot.

For the new year, I think I'm going to yell "BUSTED!" whenever I catch someone doing this. Maybe not so much towards kids since they haven't developed self control yet (something the parents should teach).

I once bought 52 nintendo wavebirds from best buy for $0.52. They were all in the back room. True story
