PS2 Games for kids

So, I snagged a new PS2 (as used at Gamestop) as a backup for my current system. I play new games on PC and I don't expect to buy one of the current gen systems until the next gen comes out, although by then my kids may have realized that they want the newest systems. Until then, I'm confident (because they're 3 and 4) that they will be satisfied with the PS2.

So my question is, what are good PS2 games for kids, especially younger kids? They've started to ask to play and I can't exactly start them out with the Persona games or the other RPG's I prefer (although I will get them into that eventually). I imagine that I'll probably get a PS4 and/or XBOX 720 eventually, but until then I'm looking for good games for 4-8 year olds on the PS2.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

My personal recommendation is for the Lego Star Wars games. Some parts might be tough for a 4YO, but it has drop-in drop-out coop play so you can help them out. The game is fun for adults too, so you could just play the whole thing with them. The other Lego games (Indy, Batman, Harry Potter) seem similar, but I haven't played them so I can't vouch.

Great, thanks! - the Lego games are a great idea because they love the blocks and the Clone Wars cartoon already, so I'll check that out. I'll also look for the thread you mentioned.

If your kids like Nicktoons games, Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron type games are SOOOOOOOOOO much FUNNNNN!!!!!!! You can get them pretty cheap on eBay by searching Nicktoons PS2, Spongebob PS2, etc. They should be $6 or less.

Actually, Best Buy sometimes has buy 2 get 1 free. $4.99 for a number of pre-owned PS 2 games. That's IF you don't mind used games. However, 1 of my games came complete and the other came disc-only in a generic game box. But, I called and mentioned that and was emailed a complete refund and was able to keep the 2 games! This was during a buy 1 get 1 sale. At minimum, they are supposed to come with box art.

Omg! Rambling... The Nicktoons games are VERY fun, but some can have some slight technical jumping sections and boss battles parts. Fun though!
