The Leisure Suit Larry Kickstarter project is over 50% funded. :) I urge you to overcome Kickstarter fatigue and instead care about an awesome adventure game getting remade.

If he's making a remake of LSL1, that's probably the best way for me to enjoy the game for the first time.

Is LSL1 enjoyable, that is? Never played it.

Really, I'll put money in for Al Lowe, and the main reason I'll do that is, one, he has assets, and two, I still fondly remember getting the secret message from Al Lowe at the end of Torin's Passage (Didn't you?). I like the guy.

The Sherlock Holmes kickstarter is barely over 20% funded, so Leisure Suit Larry can, uh... I'm trying to think of something that wouldn't be in any way sexual...

High five!

Okay, I find the Sherlock Holmes project not quite as compelling as Larry, and the rewards are not very enticing, but I do like the idea of seeing the video in HD for the first time. Pledged.

As for Larry, the games are really funny, and a lot of the humor stems from failure scenarios. Actually reaching the end is more of a challenge than in more recent adventure games, but that's why ya save often. And like you said, Al Lowe is just great.

Not my first Sierra adventure, but I remember getting burnt out on them fast for reasons like that. Although, QFG4 remains one of my all time favorites.

Maybe he'll take the hint from SQ7 and the like and throw in an undo button.

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, I was too young to enjoy that when it came out, but it'd be nice to see if there is value there on a version of the game rehosted for modern PCs

That's pretty much exactly where I am on it. Never played them, but I'm really interested in seeing how they turn out. Plus, I've become a major Sherlock Holmes fan in general over the last month.

You might be disappointed in the comic. IMO it sucked. The music however, is pretty decent.

I actually liked the comic. All 12 pages of it. In which nothing happened but grimdark but what can you do? my curiosity is sated and that's worth the price of the bundle alone.

Thanks for posting the Al Lowe video, EastX. I can't help but be a bit excited to see Mr. Lowe taking charge of Larry again. I truly enjoyed the first three games as a child (As strange as that may sound.), and it was a shame to see how terrible the sequels got.

Personally, I'd rather see the old-timely text parser format make a comeback, but I know society's a bit too diluted for that kind of experience. (Plus, it wouldn't transition well to any other platform.) Nevertheless, it's nice to see so much love for the old series. I hope the remake turns out nicely.

It does look like the Sherlock Holmes Kickstarter might not get funded. I remember playing the first episode I think, it was good, not really a point and click adventure game, more of an interactive movie. And this is a bargain, for 9 dollars you get all 9 episodes. The developer also made the classics Shadowgate and Deja Vu, which hopefully might have remakes or sequels in the future.

I never played the original Leisure Suit Larry (only played Love for Sail), so it was an easy pledge.

Talking about Kickstarters, there's the Jane Jensen one, for funding one or two upcoming adventure games. There'll be a vote this weekend among backers to determine which one will be made first (sadly, no Gabriel Knight):

Eh. I really couldn't get into Deathspank. Loved the demo, but the game just got annoying once you're trying to rescue those stupid orphans.

Actually, the one Kickstarter project I'm looking forward to is the one that isn't from the nostalgia factory or by a big name.

The Banner Saga definitely hits all the right spots for me.

On Neogaf someone just posted that a new listing for a Steam indie bundle was added to the registry. It could very well be a sale.

Possibly worth the $1 I'm charging for a Steam key, but definitely not good enough to merit a $2.50 purchase. This game would be pretty mediocre even if better zombie games didn't exist. For a McChicken? Buy it. A McChicken and a medium fry? Pass. :(

Just noticed the BeMine2 bundle is up so I am giving away Beat Hazard to one lucky CAG. Here are the rules you have to have a post in this thread before this one and a CAG Veteran or better. First one to PM and meet the requirements get it.

How does that bundle work? It's hard to tell what you are getting when you "pay what you want" and what you get if you pay "what they want" (aka more than minimum).

Sounds like you have to pay $10+ to get Killing Floor? Or is that given to everyone once some "goal" is met?
