Just curious, but what do you spend thousands on? Food, books, games?

I normally spend my money on games, computers or components, and electronics but there are lots of other things I buy too. They sell all sorts of electronics, TVs, computers, outdoor equipment, kitchen items, furniture, etc. I constantly watch slickdeals for cheap stuff. I get a lot of amazon credit for free. I would much rather give my money to Amazon than Best Buy or a similar store.

Plus, you can share your Prime account with other family members, thus increasing the value. A person may not get the full value by themself, but between two or three people, its awesome! Only the primary person can take advantage of the Amazon Prime Video Streaming, but the two day free shipping is still great. I know I've purchased a lot of low cost items from there because it saved me a trip to the store. Why pay $5 for a USB stick in a store when I can have Amazon two-day ship it to my house?

I hope anyone trying to scam Amazon gets what's coming to them. It would be hilarious if someone spent a ton of money, had their account closed, and then couldn't use the gift cards they got or get the money back they paid for them!

I don't get the decision to not have a GameCube disc reader on the system. Is it just to resell GCN games as eShop downloads later? Is it to keep the cost down? I can't imagine adding GameCube BC would cost a lot of money.

Oh please, all that empty talk, it's so dumb! You'll be lucky if you can get more than three offers... If you're gunning for more than 10 or 20 or 100 offers, prepare to have multiple credit cards with different billing address.

I'm hoping to get one or two of these. While there isn't any video games I want right now, I've been itching to get a new Criterion blu-ray.

I will be buying two. One for myself and one for my father. Such a shame people are so childish and greedy. Slickdeals and the lot is the reason why sites don't do good deals anymore.

As long as sites properly structure their deals, this wouldn't be an issue. Sites have a responsibility to make sure the integrity of their offers hold up, so while I don't agree with those that exploit, it's only possible because of the structure created.

Meanwhile no one here would ever even think of exploiting a deal.

I'm going to leisurely check on Tuesday and hopefully get $20 worth amazon credit to buy one or two used games. If not, it's all good.

^they're trying to stimulate business on Amazon. What can you get on Amazon for $10? Not a lot. So spending 5 and getting 10 makes people want to buy stuff.

Plus, more people will be aware of the Amazon Local site.

Yep, the catch is you have to put yourself on the amazon local mailing list. You can always unsubscribe after. What's not clear to me is if subscribing to a city that does not currently have Amazon Local deals will work. It says they don't have offers for my area, but I'm signed up to be notified when they do. Will I get the gift card deal?

Yeah never heard of it before this. It seems just like the Google deals thing, where it only lists deals for a select few major cities, so it's almost useless to a lot of people.

Daily deal PC downloads. That's all I'm probably going to use this for.

Heard of AmazonLocal before this, didn't care then and don't care now, and won't care after the gift card thing is over.

I love Amazon, but I hate the daily deal coupon sites.

I receive my daily Amazon Local email with a new deal between 6:15-6:30am EST.

Of course, I'm not sure if that is when it goes "live" or if that is when they run their email drop.

So close, so very very close.

Personally I'm just waiting for the massive carnage that ensues afterwards. :D
