Games that activate on Origin

How do I deauthorize Securom Wrapped EA Games?

http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/

Per MysterD's suggestion:

Here's the Steam Key Activation Page List.

NOTE: This list is incomplete so if you're unsure you still want to ask in the thread.

I'll be posting this a few times in this thread. I also post this regularly whenever people ask about activation limits with Amazon Game Downloads:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...0205020&#times

How many times can I download my games or software?

You can download an unlimited number of times for personal use. To re-download, go to Your Games and Software Library through the "Your Digital Items" link at the top of the screen and click the download button.
Can I download and install to multiple computers?

For video games: Each game manufacturer has a different policy on how many installations are allowed with each product key. If you run out of installations for the product key you originally purchased from Amazon, please contact Customer Service and we will happily provide you with another key at no additional charge. You can install an unlimited number of times for personal use, however additional copies of the game for friends or family must be purchased separately.

Notes on price matching:

1. Amazon DVG doesn't match physical disc deals

2. AND doesn't match International digital download deals - i.e. Gamersgate, GreenManGaming, GOG & GetGamesGo.

Thanks for the suggestion MysterD!

Some of the titles were released DRM free while most were patched out of the game sometime after release.
Of course the nice thing here is that the versions Amazon provides is updated and patched up - IE less headache and work overall :)

Good to see a new thread

First post on these boards.

Just wanted to say thank you to Tony for all the great deals, and if you don't mind a quick question.

I understand that keys for the download games are a finite thing that Amazon buys in bulk, my question is. Will Amazon maintain the ability to download a game even if they are no longer selling it. Sorta like buying a game today, getting my key code, but not downloading it for a few years.

Amazon.com is going to be around a while, would love to be able to keep adding to a video game collection and in 10 years time, if the itch to play a game comes up, I would be able to go to my Amazon digital library and download it.

Thank you again for all the work you have put into this thread and Amazon development for pc gamers.

The original thread was closed while I was editing my post, this is the updated post. So sorry about double posting but....

Exactly what I was thinking. You could market to tablets, using titles like board games or similar titles for cheap that people are already familiar with to draw them to the main page with the other more obscure titles. I mean putting the Murder She Wrote title up front isn't gonna get a second look, but games like the Jewel Quest and Hotel Dash are very similar to the online casino games my parents play, and they'd be more than willing to drop a few dollars on other titles like Murder She Wrote, simply because that's from their generation. even the Nancy Drew stuff isn't really targetable toward my generation and I'm 30. Something to keep in mind. However, if you could bolster the catalog with more puzzle or adventure games or even something along those lines a little more "modern" like Soduko (another hot property with older gamers), Chess,Monopoly, etc. Also, calling them "Casual Games" might actually be working against you. The Wii didn't become a hit with older gamers because they used casual to sell it (at least they didn't make that a buzz word).

Here's an example: My sister is getting the newer Kindle Fire, giving the older model to my Mom. She'll use it to do whatever in the down time while waiting for my niece to get out of the dentist, or girl scouts, etc. She'll be much more likely to game on it if she had a source of what I call "time suck" titles (not expecting you to use that one!). Games that are really fun, easy to play, and make time fly by (which requires more than a passing interest in the game itself). If you want my advice, bolster the catalog slightly with the board game/adventure type games (but don't go the little kid route, no "Barbie's Fun House", stay on your target demographic), make those the ones you advertise, and when they click through to the main page, they will be introduced to the broader catalog and will be much more likely to purchase as a bundle some of the more obscure titles like Women's Murder Club.

And as far as us here at CAG, there's more than just a few of us still playing the old LucasArts point and click adventures, old Commodore64 games, and emulating our old 16 bit and NES systems, and playing old copies of games like MIST. We love us some strategy board game/adventure game or detective game type scenarios and will certainly be buying our fair share. In fact I'm already looking at games like Midnight Mysteries, Spooky Manor (sounds kinda like Maniac Mansion or Day of the Tentacle), and Mystery at Mortlake Mansion. And those titles are intresting at $5, if you make good on your promise of possiblty bringing them down even further....especially since some of them are just 50MB each, then my friend it's a deal. Nostalgia for the good ol' days of gaming. I could fill up an entire weekend gaming session for $20, have maybe a couple hundred megs to download (also important to keep game sizes down, most people are looking for these types of games on a mobile platform..laptop,kindle,etc.) That would be awesome. But I would find something to call them other than "casual" I'm drawing a blank at the moment, but my other CAG's can possibly answer the call.

BTW, having direct communication with a Marketing Manager for such a huge retailer and being able to give input, being asked to give it no less, regarding how to approach advertising towards us is unprecedented and much appreciated. It works for everyone. You guys sell more games, create a larger user base (repeat customers), and increase market share as well as your reputation. We get fantastic deals on games we already want, get exposed to games that flew under the radar, and are much more willing to spend $5 or $10 on a game that we know little about but have now been exposed to, and now have an interest in and are willing to give a try at that price. Also getting much more value for the dollar which equals more games we get to try meaning more fun. Not to mention the fact that because you, (Amazon) are tapping into an already established community that give feedback to one another, which only serves to amplify the results. Well done Tony. :applause: and Thanks Again and good luck with the "casual" side of gaming.
so which of these on the list is the "newest" fps?
Call of Juarez Bound in Blood. It is a good game too. I liked it.

I'm having a strange issue with Vegas 2. Every character model's head and eyes jitter around nonstop like they're on crack. Can't find any fixes for this online, just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Also bought HAWX with the deal, but the download was corrupted at the final 0.03GB, 6 hours wasted :( Still redownloading today.
I have to say DRM free games from ubisoft is a good surprise to me. Good work convincing a company known for their hateful DRM, especially for paying customers
Yes now if only someone can talk some sense into them to yank it the hell out of their newer stuff.

I really wanted to get Anno 2070 but not with the 3 install limit DRM crap. And yes I know I can contact Amazon customer service but I shouldn't have to go through that hassle. Supposedly the 3 activations regenerate over time, or so some translation of some obscure German Ubisoft page says but again, I shouldn't have to. Don't treat your customers like thieves.

A lot of people have learned the hard way to steer well away from Ubisoft due to their extreme DRM implementations so hopefully these DRM free games sell well enough to buy them a clue.
Hey Tony,

Will there be a download avail of Diablo 3? Or is download only a blizzard only thing? Thanks!
I'm no official, but I don't think Blizzard has ever offered download copies on anything other than their own Battle.net service. They're pretty all-inclusive with themselves. Either way, any copy of Diablo 3 would have to go through Battle.net and be registered there.

Guess I have one more day to decide if I want to buy more - have such a backlog already but hard to refuse these deals.

Anyone else had trouble actually buying one of the Ubisoft games? I haven't had issues like this before with Amazon.

I started with Assassin's Creed, and the web page sat for several minutes with a spinning circle/icon thing saying to wait. Then it said something about not being able to charge my card.

I clicked try again/edit, and it didn't list my card, just had a spot to enter a new card...so I reentered my card (a Discover) and then it says:

"We're sorry. An error occurred when we tried to process your request. Rest assured, we're working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Please try again in a few minutes"

Any thoughts?

I would try Amazon Support; their online-chat support is very good and very fast, helped me within a matter of minutes.

Good luck and let us know if it's resolved or not.

Yeah, this is what's so crazy. If you're going to steal it, then the DRM doesn't effect you. If you want to buy it, then it does.

I've heard people actually say things like "just buy it and download a stolen copy", but I have problems with that on multiple levels. It's like I have money, I want to give it to you!

I don't know what's going on, but I got a receipt that I bought it, so...I guess the error message is bogus? Oh well, as long as I'm only billed once LOL
Probably a dumb question:

On this page, I see the BOGO promotion is going until Saturday 3/17; however on the Amazon Deal page, it says the BOGO credit is only good until Wednesday 3/14.
Just curious which one is the most current, correct info.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.ht...rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1350407322&pf_rd_i=979455011

Thanks!
I saw that too, but it actually says the credit is good until APRIL 14th, not 03/14, and the way I interpreted it is this:

$5 Ubisoft games will end on 03/17. If for whatever reason you bought a $5 game and did not get the second one free before the sale ended, you still have a $5 credit you can use on any one of those games (at regular price I would presume?) and you have until April 14th to use that credit.

OOHH!! Good catch! Thanks Fox :D
Now to figure out what games I want.....

I wanted to add another voice as a "hardcore" gamer who likes casual games - especially Luxor. Luxor Evolved looks awesome and I almost bit at Steam's lame 10% off price. Knowing that you guys at Amazon are considering casual game sales, I will wait and whittle away at my backlog for a while.

As for places to market casual games - I agree the mobile / tablet space is a good idea - maybe a site like pinterest? I have started hanging out on Reddit a lot too - there are a lot of gamers of all types posting there, and a lot of small game publishers are doing giveaways to "redditors". The publishers of Faerie Solitaire gave away 10,000 copies of their game a couple days ago, so it looks like they are liking the exposure.

Thanks for the promos, now I have to decide if I'm going to spring for another couple Ubisoft games before the sale ends.

Do you have your browser or router blocking any domains or sub-domains that Amazon might be depending on to complete the purchase?

One of Amazon's promises with our Game Downloads is that as long as Amazon exists you'll have access to your binaries in your games and software library.

So yes, you can re-download whenever you want :).

So far I've got 182 "casual" games in the Spring sale for $2.99 and I will let you know if more come down the pipe. We're also looking at different ways to brand and name this selection of games. Stay tuned for more changes.

As always, I'd appreciate any feedback as to where you repost any deals that I post and how the community response. I'm happy to support you guys as you help spread the word about what we're doing.

You guys rock...CAG is the best community on the internet...you heard it here.

NBA 2K12 - $9.99 (we had to do this again for March Madness!)

Cheers,
Tony
I would have enjoyed NBA 2k12 at $4.99. Wasn't it that low in December? I swear I missed a great deal on NBA 2k12 lol
Nah, it was $9.99. I stared at it all month long and I think I'm going to have to bite on it this time.

The Sonic Generations DLC isn't worth it unless it's cheap. It's just sort of a pinball diversion and not a full pinball level or anything.
I swear it was $4.99 maybe with a coupon? I might just be dead wrong :whistle2:(

That was NBA 2K11

The thing with the sports games is that the publisher pays out the league for licensing fees too so there is a pretty set "floor" as to how low we can go on these titles until the next iteration comes out. Just an FYI.

No Shogun 2 in a sega sale? ):

Anyone planning to buy NBA2k12. It is completely BROKEN on PC! They never patched it. The online flat out doesn't work. My Player mode crashes and you will need to restart your comp after you win the Finals. It's a shame because it's a very good game on consoles, the PC version is just flat out broken.

Anyone buy "Tom Clancy Splinter Cell - Double Agent" ? Many reviews complained about poor PC performance; any opinions?

Any opinions on "Chaos Theory" ? I see it was released for Xbox [non-360], is the game still graphically relevant? .

You don't buy a game from 7+ years ago for the graphics.

Double Agent was good, but the series peaked out with Chaos Theory imo. Amazing multiplayer. I bought it from Amazon this week but have yet to install.

Sonic 4 Ep 1 - $4.99
Sonic Generations -$7.49
Dreamcast colleciton - $7.49
48 Game Genesis Collection - $7.49

Does anyone have an entire game list for the 48 game collection? I only see 12 games listed on the link. I am wondering if it is the same thing as the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection that I already have on 360.

I am looking for a genesis collection that has Mutant League football or some of the other games I loved but aren't included in the Sonic's UGC.

You probably won't see nearly the number of performance issues as reviewers did back in 2007. PC specs have come far enough in the past five years to compensate for the lack of optimization in the PC port. IMO Chaos Theory still looks pretty good.
