Already posted, and why would there be an artbook? It's a pre-order for the game, which, based on the gameplay videos, isn't going to be very good. There's been a RTS game set in Westeros before, and it was awful. I can't imagine any decent Game of Thrones games made by developers nobody's ever heard of...

There was an artbook from pre-ordering it from Gamestop or Amazon. TRU wasn't one of the participating retailers.

My thoughts exactly...

Yeah this game is going to suck a lot. Way overpriced. Is anybody surprised? They only took about a year, if even that, to pump it out. I wouldn't pay over $15 or so for it tops.

Telltale's Walking Dead game is another licensed disappointment. I don't want a Walking Dead point and click game. Then again, I personally didn't care about a Walking Dead game anyhow. The zombie game void doesn't exactly exist right now.
Theon Greyjoy's junk will probably make an appearance at some point, wouldn't be GoT without it
lol. You can't watch a single episode of this show without seeing at least 2 sex scenes so it would be weird if the game had none.

I have no idea if this game will be good or not, I hope it will, but my gut says it will disappoint, but I must tell you that they have been working on this game before the TV series was even in production and they had major concern that the show would be terrible, essentially killing the IP. Instead, the show is a huge success and the developer now has huge expectations to meet.

This game looks like garbage. The developer has literally 0 merritt- they have made a single critically nor commercially successful game.

I'm as big a GoT fan as the next, just don't get fooled.

Vote with your wallets by saying that we want these beloved licenses treated right with a competent developer

because no developer has ever come out strong with their first big project...

I'm not sure if this game will be good or bad but to base your opinion on that is ridiculous.

If Amazon price matches the $45 AND the artbook, I'm in.

I take your point, but the fact this is a game heavily dependent on the license and is from a dev who only seems to have made bad games in the past is worrying. Strikes me that there may be a bit of "Well GoT is popular right now so it'll sell well regardless" going on here.

It's your money, but I hope you don't regret the $45 purchase if this drops like a stone in the matter of weeks.

Development was way over a year. As someone mentioned, it was in development before the HBO series started. Not saying its going to be a stellar game, but it looks way better than I expected it to. I'll keep an eye out for reviews but won't be buying this day one.

As for Walking Dead, they made precisely the type of game Walking Dead should be. The series is about the people and the decisions they make, its not about killing zombies.

Personally gonna rent Game of Thrones from Gamefly. Looks like it could be hit or miss.

As for Walking Dead, I really enjoy it. Different than just blasting zombies (course I grew up with all the Sierra Online quest games, so I really like the genre), it actually has a narrative and consequences for your decisions. Looking forward to the other 4 episodes.

How do you know this is their first big project? How do you know that this is a big project at all? Do you assume this is a big project merely based on the title? Thanks for proving my point lol.

If a batter is 0 for 40, do you expect him to get a hit only because the bases are loaded - a "big" at-bat?

The fact that the tens of smaller games theyve made are terrible would only convince a fool that tjeyd come thru on a big project.

I hope im wrong. I really do. But stats dont lie, and neither do the unimpressive gameplay videos

I'm going to have to hold off until I see some reviews. I'm a huge fan of the books, but I know the game is supposed to be closer related to the tv series. And as the tv series has begun to deviate from the books more and more, I've begun to like it less and less.

I see this complaint more and more, and I must say I'm very lucky to have never read the books, because I adore.the hbo series. Its an amazing story with equally amazing scripting, whether it follows the original or not.

Anyway, why would you want it to be the same? Where would be the surprise in that? Get a little variety in yo life, son!

No. Your analogy is more along the lines of saying "This guy isn't going to hit a home run in his first major league at bat because nobody ever does. They should've pinch hit for him with Jim Thome who has tons of homers."

I don't get the logic of saying you're lucky to have never read the books. I absolutely hate seeing something based on literature without having read the book first as it makes me wonder too much about what I've missed out on due to necessary cuts. The show is rich with detail and is engrossing, but not in the same way as the books, so I would not consider you lucky.

I think my logic is pretty simple to understand. Based off the many complaints:

Reading books = not liking got hbo
Not reading the books = more enjoyment.

I'm the latter. I'm lucky. And guess what? Only I can consider myself lucky. No no, let me allow one random internet douche to tell me my own personal feelings.

Nope

By your analogy that batter would have made it to the majors even though he didn't get a single hit in his AAA career and now he's batting fourth expected to get a game winning hit.

Now what do you think his chances are?

You seem a bit defensive there bud, all I was saying was I don't get your logic to not wanting to read the books. I've read them and still manage to enjoy the show. As you stated earlier, isn't it nice to have some differences and be surprised now and then? I think it is. IN MY OPINION, Not reading the books = less enjoyment, because I know the characters better and can appreciate some of the foreshadowing and knowing (for the most part) where their journeys are going. Now was there anything douchey about that?

SHUT THE fuck UP.

Somebody ban this guy. All his does is troll and doesn't contribute anything to any thread he posts in.

If I wasn't tempted to get the Collector's Edition of this game, this isn't a bad deal at all. Once again, TRU gives you an great reason to preorder with them.

Excuse me? Troll? This was a response to another person who had responded to me. I dont at all see how this constitutes as a troll post at all. Besides, this has nothing to do with you. If you hadactually read the entire convo, you wouldn't be making such ridiculous claims

I see...the thing is I never once said I don't have a desire to read the books. Very simply, I mean that I'm lucky to watch the show not having read the books, because those that have seem to enjoy the show much less. Pretty simple..

Who gives a shit? You like the show, buy the game. Why bother to post here if you never even heard of the damn show. If you read the books then read the books. If you like the show then watch it.

Why do you want the shitty book so much? I'm 100% shocked that books still exist in today's day and age. I thought they'd be out by now. They make up like 1% of today's entertainment and unless you're 60 or older, stray away from books and start emersing yourself with real entertainment.
Not sure if you know this but there's plenty of free porn on the Internet.
You haven't searched hard enough. I'm sure it's out there.

Most games based on movies and television shows are great games. E.T., CSI, NCIS. I will not allow anyone to have an opinion until they spent hours with something.

I pre-order the game a few weeks ago and sent an e-mail to Amazon about price matching either Toys R' Us or Buy.com. They provided me with 20 dollars gift certificate.

Rule 34

I am waiting for it to drop under $20 depending on reviews.

Oh wow a bunch of people who haven't played the game saying it sucks already and are going to let reviews formulate their opinion on the game like a lot of people did with Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Ninja Gaiden 3 recently. I have no doubt I'll enjoy the game.

Yup, that's the internet. *looks at sig*

I'm still intrigued though.

I just tried this. Placed a preorder, then sent a contact email about the order right after. Hopefully I'll be successful. If not, I told them I'd just cancel the order and get the better price from toys r us (or price match through best buy).

Quite possibly the most ridiculous thing i've read all year. Thought i'd also point out that it is "immerse" not "emerse"; furthermore, the word immerse is almost always followed by "in" or "into" not "with". :dunce:
