Hmm, depends on condition. Kenwood's best era was the mid to late 70s. During the 80s, every Japanese company started cutting corners to compete with cheap Chinese junk. This unit is early 80s, so it's probably solid for the price if it's been serviced or cleaned recently. If not, I'd talk him down to $50 or so and get some DeOxit. Retail price was $700 then, so it's probably decent. I'd most likely take a chance on it personally. lol

And obviously listen to it before you buy it, if at all possible.
