CAGiversary!
Any other fellow Sneaker collectors out there? I'd love to hear fellow CAGs tips, tricks and general points of view on buying/trading shoes.
Being a CAG for many years has helped me build a healthy gaming library cheaply. Hope to hear and share those same principles towards shoes. Thanks!!

I used to be waaaay into sneakers, but unfortunately not so much any more. Can't keep up with the costs or the scene. I think gaming is my go to hobby now.

Haha, I hear ya. Gamers have to wear shoes too. The Gamer community is so much more solid compared to Sneakerheads

Worst decision of my life was to sell my jordans for cheap $100 or lower (authentic ofcourse, no china crap) Pretty good condition also.

I also sold my Hawaii SB Dunks for $150 only :(

Wow. Someone got away with some steals. I sold off my collection a few years back and I'm slowly building back up to rekindle some nostalgia. Doing a lot of trading up, to really collect "grails"

Anyone have tips on sites or sellers they trust?

I think pickyourshoes.com was a legit site, people in niketalk would probably know better though.

I thought people stopped wearing Jordans and prices probably went down but they actually ALL went up  I remember when the AJ 4's were about $125 at Champs/Footlocker and when I bought some 4's recently, the total came out to be $175 :hot: I'm thinking about getting the White and red 4's coming out in Aug, they look like the Mars that came out a couple years ago.

I still kept my AJ Mar's 4's and only wore em less than 15 times :bouncy:

I wouldn't call myself a "sneakerhead", because I don't really care for all the limited edition runs etc, but I do like having a ton of choices for shoes.

Yeah, I've found the term "SneakerHead" to be very polarizing. Most people will ask to see your 50+ pairs of Jordans in order to warrant the title. Whereas "gamers" are more apt to say, cool, let's play.

I also agree with new pricing being a pain. Jordan brand will actually be upping their prices again this winter to $180 MSRP while using inferior materials on these replicas. LeBrons new shoes will retail for $180 and $300+ MSRP next year.

sneakerhead here :D this is a very hype summer for kicks especially for j's cant wait for olympic 6' and 7's to drop in a couple weeks. missed out on the 7's a couple years ago (broken foot) .

Back in 04-06 I wouldn't even pay $130 for the 6's....$180 for the Olympic 6's?! I could see why the 13's-14's and the other high tops were $150 but $180 is just too much. Well I'll admit I couldn't resist not getting my Cement 4's and maybe the white and red 4's this coming Aug.

I might pass on the Olympic 6s and 7s in favor of the 6/7 Gold Medal Pack...IF I can actually secure it. I'm guessing that with how slow the Obsidian 12s are selling right now, the Olympic 6s may not be too tough to buy at retail (navy colors, not as popular as black/red/white)

I do agree that the Red IVs in August will be a MUST.

I'm not a collector by any means, but I am very interested in shoes. I have about 11-12 pair. The current ones I wear are these:

I agree, Vans are a great, comfy, classic shoe with a TON of customization options.

I don't like Foams really, but I heard those Gym Greens look great in person. Not enough for me to pay that price tho.

The Red IVs are a must this August and I'm hoping the quality isn't poor (see this year's Military IVs). I'm sure there will be high demand, so I'm hoping I can get one for MSRP the day of release. I don't see resellers going below $250 after these sell out within hours.

I'm in the 60-ish pairs region with my collection right now, nothing too crazy and a lot of it isn't really rare limited edition heat or quickstrikes, just GR stuff that I happen to think is fly (picked up 3 colorways of the Air Flight '89 Retro's this summer, for example). I'm not the biggest Jordan guy, but I did grab Cement 4's this summer, still have my Aqua 8's in great condition, and a few others, but in some ways the Jordan craze has kinda killed them for me, as well as a handful of decent SB's (Bueller's, De La Hi's, Huxtables, Cassette Playa's, Jedi's, Doom's)

Lately I've just been going hard on Chuck's though. DC Comics, Gorillaz, Dr. Seuss collections etc. Probably the last 10 pairs I've bought 7 were Chuck's. A lot cheaper, and I don't feel so bad if something happens to them, but they've still got a ton of style and flair. The black-and-yellow DC Comics Batman Chuck's, and the Gorillaz camo prints have been my go-to's lately.

Although these upcoming Reebok retro's have me salivating. Hoping I can get the Kamikaze's at the very least.

I don't know if this counts as a sneaker head but I have a heels/sandals/vans problem. I think I have like 40 pairs of shoes total. They have certain clothes they need to match with #slightaddiction

Wow! Thats alot of shoes. Hardly have that much shoes. Hehe.

Well i asked coz i recently got into air jordan retros this past couple of months. And just got excited all over again. I used to buy j's during the jordan era but stopped after he left. Most of the shoes i had are either all worn out or donated by my parents. So now im trying to get the sneakers i had before. Little i know that jordans are now ridiculously priced (secondary market). Sheesh! Just wanted know if there are any good forums for out there that you guys woukd recommend. I only know niketalk.

Yeah I sold off most of my shoes and kept my favorites. Ilike the idea of them retroing shoes but I got rid of a lot of my shoes for that reason also. I don't want to walk in the mall with a pair Ive had since 05 and some kid has the same pair he bought the same day it kinda kills it for me. I've been buying up limited janoski's,SB, roshe tho I'll leave the Jordan's to the youngsters
