Man the giants had 26 mill in dead money this year, hopefully i will have enough to build the Giants into a contender

You should. Most of that dead money came from trades of guys like Tuck, Eli, etc. You should have a fair amount of room to work with next season, though I don't remember what I had figured it out to be.

ya i can understand the winning percentage but thats just more things to keep track of and at this point really isnt the easiest to do for next year since some of the veterans are already gone. plus by doing it random really leaves it open for everyone to get decent teams. either way i think it will turn out balanced i dont think theres anyone in here that doesnt really have a shot plus alot of people this year didnt go after the good teams right away anyways. either way is a good idea but one just sounds like more work and hard to do at this point

That reminds me- on NHL 12 and early on in 13, I used the name Childish Gambino for my player. Might still be my player's name in 12.

I'm glad you like the show, but i fear that it may be canceled after this season. They already pushed its premiere back to mid-season, and I don't think the ratings are too good.

What are your feelings on Cougar Town? I won't say anything specific now since I don't want to spoil it if you haven't been able to keep up.

Yeah, I haven't been able to watch a single episode of the new season of Cougar Town. That's a show my wife and I watch together, and we've had a hell of a time keeping up with our shows with everything we've got going on. We'll probably be catching up with a lot of stuff over the summer.

Well I currently have 15 mill with cap space, with 26 mill in dead space, and what ever the cap is raised too I should have like 50 mill to spend total. Im excited! Lol

Would we add another group for Veterans that have played for 2 years? I don't think that is unreasonable.

It would be difficult, but not entirely impossible...and definitely something we could figure out if we all pitched in. For instance, just using this thread as a reference, this was the final "playoff picture" from season 1.

AFC:
1) Miami Dolphins (z) (16-0) - Chetty (not eligible to rejoin)
2) Tennessee Titans (y) (12-3) - n8rockerasu
3) Cleveland Browns (y) (10-6) - fsecreast (welcome to rejoin)
4) Kansas City Chiefs (y) (10-6) - Cool_iAM
5) New England Patriots (x) (13-3) - Hemingway (not eligible to rejoin)
6) New York Jets (9-7) - dr0ppinl0adz

IN CONTENTION
Houston Texans (9-7) - docb9110
Denver Broncos (9-7) - Dark Rider
Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7) - Swift900 (welcome to rejoin)

NFC:
1) Carolina Panthers (y) (13-3) - DooMane (not eligible to rejoin)
2) San Francisco 49ers (y) (12-4) - Blade3D
3) Chicago Bears (y) (12-4) - pitfallharry219
4) Washington Redskins (y) (9-6) - joelypoley
5) Atlanta Falcons (9-7) - Aft3rsh0ck (wouldn't be against having him back...but he won't be considered a regular since he's bailed on us twice)
6) Minnesota Vikings (8-8) - KasterDB (joined mid-season...need to figure out record when he joined)

IN CONTENTION:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9) - GamerDude316
Seattle Seahawks (7-8-1) - Lexxon

And this was a rough idea of what the draft was going to look like

1) Cardinals
2) Giants
3) Raiders
4) Ravens
5) Bills/Colts
6) Colts/Bills
7) Jags/Packers
8) Packers/Jags
9) Eagles
10) Cowboys/Rams
11) Rams/Cowboys
12) Seahawks (7-8-1) - Lexxon
13) Saints/Lions/Chargers
14) Saints/Lions/Chargers
15) Saints/Lions/Chargers
16) Bucs (7-9) - GamerDude316
17) Bengals (8-8) - DVO21
18) Falcons (9-7) - Aft3rsh0ck
19) Steelers/Texans/Broncos
20) Steelers/Texans/Broncos
21) Steelers/Texans/Broncos

So, basically, we'd just need to fill in the blanks. DVO, you keep your record in your signature, so I know you were 8-8 in Season 1. If others remember their record, they just need to let us know. Like I said, it's possible.

I think lowest win percentage for those that played all 3 seasons should pick first since they've been loyal to the league and they deserve the better teams. I know that's pretty easy to check...i can see my total wins/losses as my user-created coach

This is why I would prefer to do it by winning percentage. If we're going to break down the number of seasons/years people have played, it starts to look like what the other league did. The only wildcard in all of this is the idea of allowing people to keep the same team (which is what our first actual group was). We'd have to decide if we even want to bother with that...or if we just want to go based on winning percentage. Honestly, it's early to be talking about all of this...but I do want to at least get user/team records compiled, in case we do want to incorporate winning percentage in the selection process.

That's a good point...and would definitely work for people still in the league. It just wouldn't factor in anyone who left early. Still a good resource to have though.

i think droppinloadz has a good point with guys that stayed around all 3 seasons i like the idea of the people thats stayed around should get some sort of respect. and it makes it easier to figure out the percentages.
groups could look like this
groups
a- veterans that stayed all seasons in madden 13 draft order in worst winning percentage
b-veterans that left order- random generation order
c- newbies
d-veterans in both league
e- newbies in both leagues

or not even worry about the both leagues part.
im 100% in favor of not allowing people to keep there teams. i think its fun to mix it up keep it fresh and if they want there team back and no one in front of them wants them then they can have them. keeps no team locked up with one owner just holding on to them until they arent good anymore. becuz if a good owner has a good team now and can hold on to them wuts the point of going by winning percentage if good players are going to have good teams anyways.

also for the next madden we could have eveyone do a signature like mine so keeping track the next time isnt so hard when this comes around next time there for possibly eliminating group B later on in the future if it was wanted to be eliminated of course

I think veterans of the whole league should get first pick, then veterans of 1-2 seasons next, followed by anybody with less than one full season and new people. Within those groups, break it down by winning percentage or number of playoff appearances (whichever is easier to compile the data for). At least for an idea haha.

sounds similar to my idea. Only difference is I think:

-Anybody whos played the whole league should be given first pick on teams. Going by the first few posts from team selection last year this would pretty much apply to Nate and Doc now?
-Any veterans who have left could be in group C or D (not sure which fits better), since they did leave for whatever various reasons. I dont necessarily think they should get the same preference for team picks over an owner who may have joined later but stayed the rest of the way.

gamer dude is this ur idea of the groups im trying to figure out wut u mean completely
groups
A- guys that have been in the league for every season since madden 12- draft order by current winning percentage in madden 13.

B- guyes that were around for all of madden 13- draft order by winning percentage

C- guyes who left in the middle of madden 13

D- newbies

the only problem i see with this is guys that are veterans from madden 12 like kaster for example but just didnt by the game as early as the rest of us in madden 13 and and joined at the end of season 1. becuz i consider kaster a important member of the league and a long time veteran in here.

im sure n8 will look over all the ideas and give his input when the time comes either sooner or later im sure this wont be the last of these talks. im sure he will consult with the committee on wut to do or possibly even the league as a whole since it could effect alot of us which im hoping the league gets a good return rate becuz i think we have a great group of guyes in this league this year with alot of new guyes showing some great commitment

Yeah, I think thats about right. Mostly, I think those who have been in the league the longest should get first crack at a team. I definitely get waiting to buy the game like Kaster did (as did I), but I dont think we should get first crack at teams either. We already got our reward by being cheapasses who held out for a lower price 8-)

You guys are starting to turn it basically into exactly what the other league did, lol. Two things.

1. DVO, please stop pushing your agenda before we get too heated about this. It is plain as day that the plan you're pushing for would put you in prime position to pick one of the favored teams you've already talked about (Broncos, Seahawks, etc).

Instead of just pushing the plan that benefits you the most, lets just assess the options that we have, and figure out which one would serve the league best. I would probably like to stick with the Titans next year, but I care much more about not having people with stacked teams going undefeated, making an entire season's worth of time pointless for everyone else participating. The well-being of this league and making sure it's fair to everyone involved is far more important to me than which team I get.

2. We would need to decide how to factor in Madden 12 participation. Like I said though, if you really start nitpicking number of seasons, it quickly turns into the system that the other league used...which isn't a bad thing. But for people who have said they don't want it to be that way, that needs to be taken into consideration.

Either way, I appreciate all the input. It's starting to get a little fuzzy and complicated right now, lol. Fortunately, there's PLENTY of time to think about it. And we've still got at least one more season with this game to get through. I'll probably come up with some variation of what's been suggested. Something that factors in the time people have invested in this league and also their skill level. I don't want to be too loose with the number of seasons played, because what ends up happening is a "veteran" of one season who had a bad record ends up with the Patriots...and then drops again after one Madden 14 season with a bad record. The flip side of that is that in general, the more time people put in, the better they get...but finding where those two meet will probably give us the most fair selection criteria.

The better teams have the most pieces to play with. Wasn't that the general logic when BV had the Patriots in Madden 12? In all honesty...I've had some people suggest reinstituting a trade cap for next year...which I definitely will consider. The salary cap in game does an ok job limiting trades...but it still doesn't account for teams just being blessed with more (and being able to stockpile draft picks, trade one big piece for several smaller pieces, etc). A trade cap might be the best solution short of just using fantasy rosters.
