Just want to give a shout out to anyone from the area that has never been to Steven's Used Games and Collectibles.

They have a pretty decent selection of pretty much any gaming system you can think of, from Atari 2600 to Xbox 360 and PS3.

I gotta say the prices are pretty good, generally, he charges one price for a PS2 game, or one price for a SNES game, with exceptions for titles like Chrono Trigger that are individually priced. Sports games are always cheap.

His trade values are pretty good as well, in line with his retail prices, and I've found it's a good place to take some older PS2 games and get a few more to go home with me. I would still have The Sims on my bookshelf if I didn't take it there.

I saw racing wheels, Guitar Hero controllers, PC Games, a big DVD/Blu Ray selection, a bunch of music CDs, books, comics, you name it, he probably sells it. Haven't seen a guitar yet, but he'd probably swap it.

I don't get there as often as I'd like, but I do make it monthly, and a lot of the merchandise turns over fast, so you're not looking through the same old games for months on end. Every time I am there I find something I gotta have, for a good price.

The store is near the Nitro-St. Albans bridge on the Nitro side. Just past it heading away from Nitro toward Institute, Across from Twin City Used Cars (I think that's the car lot). There is a big yellow sign and it is hard to miss. They're open in the afternoon/evening time, every day except Monday.

You guys stop in and show them some love!

That sucks!

I love the local game shops and hope this one stays in business for a while.

My parents ran a gift shop in the old shops there a few years back, they moved it because of poor traffic that way. I hope Steven has more luck and since I'm just across the river I'll have to go check him out soon.

Found out about this place about a month ago, after moving to Charleston in September last year. Of course, when I made my trip there, he had just closed down a couple days before to move to South Carolina. Just my luck.

The same exact thing happened to me.

I generally stopped in about once every other week to trade and buy, but last month they were closed. I stopped by yesterday and saw the dreaded "CLOSED" sign in the door.

I hope they get another shop, they were pretty good people and gave very fair prices on everything. I unloaded 50 or 60 PS2 games there and got very good trades in return. There were always a few people there, and people were always buying stuff.

Holy shit, I just reread that and they moved! Luckily I am going there next month, so I will stop in and visit them.

That really sucks. I always stopped in about once every other month for the past couple of years probably... whenever I'd hit Charleston up. Location wasn't the greatest, but it was a good store, always found good stuff at fair prices there. Really nice people.

I'm sure he'll do good in Myrtle Beach. Probably do a lot more business there. But for sure, sad to see the store go. It was always a staple in my Charleston game hunting run. It will be missed.
