Don't wait too long to see TDKR or you're bound to get spoiled somewhere online.

CheapyD,

Gabe Newell's comments need some explantation because when I out of context, they seem kind of crazy.

So Windows 8 is essentially an Tablet OS, it's not like with OS X where they're gradually making the margins between OS X and iOS smaller (what I think is the right thing to do). It's going to make Windows look like your Windows phone that you don't own and your Xbox who's interface you detest. When he says manufactures will stop making them, he means desktop PC's because Windows 8 is going to be fucking awful on a laptop and a desktop. It's an OS designed for touch, and with a mouse and keyboard, that's not going to go down well. I work in IT Enterprise, and everyone refuses to switch, and it's not just a matter of price (we switched to Win7 at release) it's a matter of faith. I believe we'll see Windows 9 in less than two years simply because of the 'catastrophe' that will be Windows 8. This is the biggest shift in consumer PC's since Windows 95, and people will hate it. Just you wait.

Cheapy,

Perhaps you can't view the image links of the Thurman burger due to Japan having banned importing beef and all beef products including JPEG files of tasty american hamburgers so I've posted a few google image links:

PS: Columbus Ohio is known as "cowtown usa" and the big thing to do when you cheer the Columbus Clippers AAA baseball team is to ring cowbells that the fans bring to the games. This translates into Columbus having a ton of great burger joints.

First Position is $7 on Amazon...........WTF?

It isn't your normal 'in theaters, then leaves theaters, now on video' sort of situation. It's more of a 'limited release' sort of situation and they've gone ahead and made it available for rent. It's all a bit silly, but that's why the rental costs more than your typical rental.

Cheapy - thanks for the recommendation on First Position. My wife and daughter are dance enthusiasts (my daughter has done ballet for a long time and is on the high school dance team) and will probably love this. I'd never heard of it before. Too bad it is not available on Netflix though.

In addition to Amazon and iTunes, 'First Position' is also available for rent via the PlayStation Store in HD for $8 (which is how I watched it).

Cheapy: "If they had the codes early, and sent me the codes, I probably would have written a review to have it up for launch day."

Less than two minutes later:

"Dyad gave us a code a week before the game came out"

So...I'm looking around the site...where's the Dyad review? Clearly getting a code isn't going to force you into writing a review, which is the reason you should be getting the codes in the first place. Stop complaining about not receiving codes since you clearly aren't using them how the PR would want you to anyway.

EDIT: Also, the banter that came due to the "exceptional 3DS XL" was....exceptional....

They talked about it on the show though, giving the game advertising. That's all they really want I'm sure.

I have had this conversation with some PR before, the guys I speak to prefer a written review because it is easy to show the client. Yet, on the otherhand one episode of the CAGcast gets more ears than a CAG Blogs review gets eyeballs.

And on the third hand, you don't like writing reviews.

Yeah, but how hard is it to do both? Especially when the man making the claim is always at home whappin it to porn.

A written review should be more thought out, less interruptions by comments and questions, and could be even be in the form of a video review showing gameplay. The game, and your opinions to people, would matter more.

At least to me, it comes off as wanting free stuff but not wanting to respect the simple wishes of what PR wants you to do with them. Then God forbid they dont send a code, they may get trashed on longer on the cagcast than time spent talking about the game had they sent one.

To be clear, the Dyad codes were given to us in hopes that we would discuss it on the show. Also, I've shot some footage of it that may or may not make it all the way onto the site.

I've watched most of Spider-Man Unlimited before and it's not so great, but it's watchable. It's basically Spider-Man thrown into a mishmash of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles style side characters.

Spider-Man Unlimited is terrible. It is only watchable in the sense that you can see it on a TV. The show only lasted a couple episodes before being cancelled.

Also Windows 8 is terrible, imagine that terrible Xbox Dashboard title crap as your start menu.

Wombat sounds like he had a completely different Best Buy experience than anyone I know. Usually you get swarmed by a group of blue shirts bugging the hell out of you every time you walk into the store.

Not at any Best Buy I've been to. Which is fine by me because I'd rather have to go ask for help when I need it, than constantly be bugged the majority of the time when I'm just browsing.

That is how I would prefer it too. If I have something in mind then I'm fully capable of finding an employee to ask.

You gotta admit, it's pretty awkward hearing Cheapy say on the air that the Foosball guys are doing a terrible job and then saying that they follow him on Twitter.

Cheapy's argument about the 3DS not being an iPhone is still annoying. As I've said before in these forums, I've had my iPhone for a couple of years now, but I still don't like playing games on it.

There's a lot of legitimate fears about Windows 8 and one of them is that Microsoft is going to turn it into a marketplace-esque platform where you have to pay Microsoft to allow your program (app) to work on the OS.

A lot of people think Microsoft is trying to lock Windows down like Apple does with their iOS devices, and they are starting with Windows 8.

Yeah, OK, it's one of those. I don't like renting movies (digitally) for home viewing - never have and don't ever see myself doing it in the future.

Wombat sounds like he had a completely different Best Buy experience than anyone I know. Usually you get swarmed by a group of blue shirts bugging the hell out of you every time you walk into the store.

I usually get swarmed when in the game section where I don't need any help whatsoever, but on the rare times I need help somewhere else it is more like what Wombat related.

I went to the RZ event last year but they must not have had one near me this year (or at least I wasn't invited despite being RZ Silver). I stuck around for lots of drawings last year and didn't get squat - did buy a bunch of games I didn't need so I could get 3x RZ points, though. So I can relate to that part of Shipwreck's experience ;).

And whoo-hoo, Pax passes arrived in the mail today!

I'm shocked you people get swarmed by Best Buy employees. Normally it's someone from Clear or DirectTV or whatever trying to sell me their cable or internet...

Completely agree. As soon as Cheapy started to say, "You know what's an exceptional product..." I knew what was coming. I'd love to hear a list of iPhone games that Cheapy considers in the same league as any handheld games.

I would also love to see comparison pictures of all the burgers you discussed. They could be part of a new segment called "Eat This, Bitches!"

"The iPhone is a fucking phone that plays shitty games".

As someone who will be buying an iPhone in the near future, I still have to give this one to Wombat. The two devices just can't be compared, as one is a game console at core and the other is a phone at core. I also agree that you shouldn't compare the cameras - on the 3DS it is more of a novelty, while the iPhone is marketed as "the only device I need". I won't even mention the prices.

Great show, I love all of you deeply.

Holy crap Sentai (Japanese Power Rangers) talk on the CAGcast?!
There is actually a growing fanbase of American Sentai fans. These, "grown ass nerds" like me shell out crazy money to import the toys from these shows, and take it with a grain of salt, knowing that we fell for a 30min toy commercial, but there is something about those shows that resonate with us.

I didn't say an iPhone is a exceptional game machine, I said it was an exceptional device, and I feel similarly about any modern smartphone. It's amazing that we can carry a portable computer in our pockets. Those of you who thought I was comparing an iPhone (or any smartphone's) game playing ability to a dedicated gaming machine missed the point completely. There is continued discussion on my guest appearance on this week's 8-4 Play.

So...I'm looking around the site...where's the Dyad review? Clearly getting a code isn't going to force you into writing a review, which is the reason you should be getting the codes in the first place. Stop complaining about not .

I never asked for Dyad codes, they just appeared in my inbox. I'm not bitter or upset in any way and I'm happy to pay my $6, I think it was pretty odd their most vocal supporter couldn't even get his hands on the game early. Guess what? Still no codes. It has nothing to do with a sense of entitlement, just thought it was strange.
