Ugh. As someone who is a big fan of the Persona games but not really a fan of fighting games, I've been seriously torn on whether I want this or not.

I just watched the gametrailers review and the story mode does take its status as direct sequel seriously it seems. Still, I can't bring myself to pay more than $30 for a fighting game and even that is pushing it. Fighting games drop in price so quickly, so I'd say definitely get it but wait for price drops.

Ironically, I already got it for $50 due to the $10 pre order deals from a month or two ago. Guess it's win win for me either way. Getting my copy today hopefully!

I wonder if it's landing on the Vita in the not-so-near future, hmmm . Blazblue was an incredible experience on the go.

I wouldn't see why not, the Vita is slowly picking up here in Japan & NA. I guess they want to see how well it sells on consoles first.

Just a heads-up for anyone thinking of getting P4A through Best Buy, I was able to price-match Fry's at 49.99 by calling the customer service line after I completed my in-store pick-up this morning. The total was still over $50, so I'm assuming the $10 credit is still coming my way. Figure it's the best option for anyone who missed out on random pre-order deals (e.g. Newegg) and has BB credit to burn.

Also can confirm that the soundtrack is included as well, which should mean that it's the typical Atlus first-run bonus. Glad to see that the talk of 11 exclusive retailers never really amounted to anything :)

Well, I actually heard people found copies without the soundtrack in a lesser known retailer (can't remember the name, but I read about it on GFAQS).

The game looks awesome, and well it has been getting great reviews across the board. As much as I want to buy it, it's an Arc System Works game. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but how many versions of BlazBlue are there now .

Well that kinda sucks. Read on some other sites that local game stores were receiving copies with the soundtrack, so I guess it might be random?

At least Best Buy has them. Was surprised to see they were missing from the official website while places like Overstock and Buy.com were mentioned instead.

I'm just going to wait for a price drop, like with what they did for Street Figther v Tekken and Mortal Kombat Komplete. My Bro and I need to save the money anyway (Agreed to split the costs)

I think first week sales were better in Japan than tekken 6 or street fighter 4. Should be pretty popular over there but I would expect a sharp drop off in sales

Not to mention Guilty Gear games and all their versions.

I hope sales are good. Got it today, only beat persona 3 and am playing through 2 on the vita now. I want to support Atlus for making so many good games, the good reviews should help. I would just say anyone buying final fantasy still please check out atlus games. All Square had to do this generation was a new real tactics and a 7 remake instead they have yet to produce a good game imo this generation outside of some eidos stuff like deus ex or the final fantasy fighting which was good admittedly. I would be less anti square if they showed any screenshots for the X remake, or a release date, or made a real tactics game in the last 15 years.

I'm a HUGE Persona fan. Got introduced with Persona 3 FES, love the series but i'm not much into fighters. I'm glad to hear they included a story mode. I'll definitely get it when it's $20.

As someone else mentioned, fighting games don't hold value and drop rapidly in price.

The game looks fun, but that $30 worth of launch day DLC stings and makes saving $10 on the actual game irrelevant.

The only DLC is the "hipster" glasses and different colors. The other DLC can be unlocked in game but it's for lazy people (replaces Rise's voice during battles I think). I was actually joking to my friend when I said "Oh, the DLC will probably be like 50 more colors even though we already have too many to begin with." And I laughed my ass off when I was actually right, wow.

I would prefer DLC characters over anything though. The current selection is something I can only see Japanese gamers buying to show off their "style" while murdering people online.

This is not a throw away game either guys! For those saying they are just waiting on Persona 5, this is probably Persona 4.5 due it to being two weeks after P4. The P3 characters in game also fit into the story as well. I was worried about spending $50 on it (Newegg) but I totally dug the game. I'm not very good at fighters and I still have a blast with it.

Also, it has this song.

This is an incredibly fun fighting game (I've only had it for a day but if it's consistently fun it might be one of the best fighters I've played, not that I'm an expert or have played tons of them though).

It's incredibly easy to get into, while at the same time having tons of little intricacies to learn (almost overwhelming, but that's only necessary to master the game, not exactly to start playing).

As well as the 13 player cast being great, usually in most fighting games I find one I like and stick to him/her, but in this one they all play really great.

For those waiting on a price drop, please note that if history says anything, it's that Arc Sys games get one price drop (to $39.99) about 2 - 3 months after release then stay at that price until the next game to come out. With the Blazblue series they released a game every... what? 6 months? It's highly doubtful that'll be the case with P4A, so you might need to wait a while.

Also, the story takes place 2 months after P4, not 2 weeks.

The CD is in it's own sleeve. I got the game from Gamestop (I know, I wasn't a CAG this one time) and they had it shrink wrapped with the game.

That's funny. I got blazblue CS at walmart for $20 well over a year ago. Ill wait for this to drop too. Because it will drop. Hopefully gamefly has a sale on it later this year.

When you say CS I take it you are talking about Continuum Shift, not Continuum Shift Extend, right? Because CS came out in 2010 then got the PSP port for CS2 (which was a free upgrade for the consoles) in 2011, that's when the game dropped prices since it was a "new version" of the game. I'm sure there have been a few stray deals, but for the most part, Arc Sys games have somehow defied traditional deal knowledge. I'm guessing it's because the publisher isn't expecting Capcom fighting game like sales.

Edit: Also, for those wondering, I've only really done 3 of the story modes (which in typical BB pattern, is incomplete) and I'm honestly not too impressed with the story so far. As for gameplay, it's obviously a lot like BB, so that may be a + or - depending on your preference. I'll be honest, Persona / BB fanboy goggles adds on to the game's enjoyment, but I honestly don't see this game outlasting the Capcom bigs (SFIV:AE, UMvC3)

Yeah I got it like three months before the CS2 updated. Well balance patch is a better word for it. Because you still had to pay $8 apiece for the 4 additional characters that were on the handheld version. Ill just wait for a nice drop on p4a even if I have to get it used.

Hopefully its a good follow to the predecessors and who knows, maybe we'll be saving the P3 Protagonist! :D I can only be hopeful and see some of dem cameos.

My bad, I thought I saw two weeks in the manual. Guess it would make sense that was two months anyway. My soundtrack was separate from the game and was attached to it with a rubber band (Newegg).
I really hope this one comes to the PS3. Haven't had a Persona Rpg all gen.
Lets hope 2014? Nah, they shouldn't rush it since they just started development and the PS4 is slated for 2014-2015 area
Hell no, not worth at this price. 12 characters for $50.
I'll wait for the price drop
Opinions. 13 unique characters with a 40 hour Story Mode, Arcade, Score Attack, Challenge Mode, Gallery unlocks, and full online capabilities makes this an excellent game at any price.
FYI the CD only has 6 tracks. I think that's less than the Catherine CD.
Yes, but unlike the Catherine disc the tracks on this CD are arranged versions of songs in the game. They're great mixes.

40 hour Story Mode? Are you serious? If thats the case, I'm in! For $30-$40 of course. I have a budget afterall. >

Naw, doesn't sound tempting at all. And half of those 40hr, i'm just sitting on my ass just listening at a story....naw

Went to a local tournament for this game last night and it seemed fun from what I got to play of it. I love Persona 4 but Story Mode looked really dull from the videos I've watched. Still torn over buying it now when I have 3 pre-orders arriving next week.
Yeah, it's a pretty lengthy story mode. Lots of reading with a couple of fights in between.

Helps if you've played through Persona 4 since it takes place directly after.

Mass Effect sucks.
Thanks. And nah. I'm a fellow Persona fan. :D

I just got the game from Newegg, and the manual "holders" inside the case were already broken off when I got the game. (Must be because the manual is pretty thick)

While that sucks, I've been waiting for this game for awhile and don't have the patience to get an exchange for it.

I guess I could always swap my Continuum Shift case with it, I don't think I'll ever go back to that game when I get Extend.

I had mine preordered and the case was completely destroyed with the game intact, getting an RMA but such a pain in the ass since I've been wanting to play this for a while. Canceled a lot of my preorders (from 10 off deals) and going back to just getting everything from amazon, RMA is understandable for expensive computer parts but for a 50 dollar game its just annoying.

Also my soundtrack was attached the case with a rubber-band, after hearing it should be sealed I'm even more pissed.

Anyone order this from newegg after it released? I placed mine Wednesday morning and it still hasn't shipped. I really hate them right now...

to those complaining about Newegg, I just want to chime in that they either have seriously dropped in quality since i used them years ago for computer parts, or they just suck for games. Ive gotten stuff pretty beat up from them in the past, but the kicker was when i ordered a copy of FEAR 2 from them and didn't notice it was a 3rd party seller. It was NOT a new game, a very obvious reseal, and ive been going back and forth for over a month trying to get a god damn refund. I try to just avoid them if at all possible these days

As for this game, im gonna wait for a price drop i think. Im excited to give it a shot, but as a few people mentioned i think the soundtrack has very few tracks. Id rather pay 20-30 bucks for it and maybe get the disc online later for 10 bucks or so if i really want it, than 60 right now. Hell you may still find it with the disk a few months down the line

^_^x KD

Isn't that more of the 3rd party's responsibility, not so much Newegg's?

Well this the only bad experience I've had with Newegg, just a week ago I got the Kingdom Hearts 3D LE from them in perfect shape.

What was odd about P4A is that it was delivered in such a big box with all this paper inside, I think that made it worse.

I'll give them another shot with Last Story, I really don't want to end up cancelling all those pre-orders that I got $10 off of.

Unfortunately, the same thing's happened to me multiple times with Newegg, and I've stopped ordering games from them unless it's an insane deal because of all the random damage they receive during shipping. Chose to get Last Story from Gamestop instead because the one thing I know they're definitely good for (at least in my experience) is getting irregular game packages in mint condition. Sucks because I'd rather save the tax with Amazon, but I was tired of getting LE boxes crushed. :whistle2:?
