Anyone know if there is goalie fatigue in GM mode?

Hey flyers fan, I never seen you online last night.

Anywho, I played Calgary flames and Toronto maple leafs last night (both CPU). I easily dominated Calgary in every department but scoring. Ended up going into shoot out. Tied in the 3rd shoot out round then after that, it went scoreless until the 10 or 11th round. I believe it was Spacek who scored the final goal (out of all people). Boy that was an annoying game.

The Toronto game, I went on a scoring route. Ending up with 6-0. They were way more aggressive than Calgary was and had way more scoring chances.

Sorry, got caught up in something that needed to be done yesterday and it took a lot longer than I thought it would. I'll be on throughout the day today.

Half of Op sports said possibly. If your training a goalie though, he should play the majority.

Wow...wish I knew where AttackingMVP pre-ordered his game, so I could get the "lick your balls" pre-order bonus. Games like this make me sick. It's not difficult enough playing a skilled player, but when he's able to just throw limp dick wristers on from the blue line that somehow trickle past the goalie (1st and 3rd goal), I don't know what the Fuck I'm supposed to do. Meanwhile, I hit the post 2-3 times. Just puts a bad fucking taste in my mouth...but I guess ball licking will do that. I like MVP, so I'm trying to not be pissed off, but God damn...this game was made for his style.

Just wait for these fucking highlights. I want to snap my fucking disc in half right now.

It was a good game... After that first one I was just hoping I wasn't going to win it off of that goal. So getting the 2nd and 4th was a little bit more comforting knowing I wasn't getting a win on those.

I do have to ask... How was the game made for my style?

The first one I was just trying to avoid pushing the puck back and having to regroup, and the second one I had some guys on the left wing and was just hoping to put it around the net for a rebound and not give up a odd man rush the other way.

I don't follow...you're trying to imply my statement was a veiled attack? Because it wasn't...it was purely an observation based on multiple opinions made in this thread about the game. I think if I were to have gotten that upset over the game, I'd simply not play it anymore. So I'm not sure how this parallels to your comment...?

Ya know, it's not even willpower. It's more like being in an abusive relationship and not having the guts to leave (except in this case...there literally is no alternative). My biggest frustration just comes from KNOWING that EA can do better (and has done better). The fact that they have the audacity to boast about these new "features", when in reality, they're just mailing it in makes my blood boil.

Sure, they add new things to the game...but when problems that were patched in previous iterations of the software continuously reoccur in the following year's game, what are we supposed to believe? Then, when you add to that that I'm getting older and my free time is becoming more limited, the thought of wasting it on a game that doesn't even understand basic principles of science...let alone the sport it is trying to emulate is just maddening.

At this point, the biggest reason I continue to buy the game is because of the friends I've made while playing it. We have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs...but it's not because of goalie fights or realistic skating. We could be playing Uno or Tiddly Winks 2013 and have a good time (after all, we did get through Operation Raccoon City...). As for NHL, I guess at the end of the day, as long as people realize they're playing a shitty, horrendously programmed game, then I can sleep peacefully at night, lol.

It was a good game... After that first one I was just hoping I wasn't going to win it off of that goal. So getting the 2nd and 4th was a little bit more comforting knowing I wasn't getting a win on those.

I do have to ask... How was the game made for my style?

Just the way you play the game...is exactly what NHL 13 was made to highlight. You go all out on hits...many of which involve chasing a guy down from behind and just destroying him. Now, in our game, more of these were in open ice than along the boards, but still...you'd think a penalty would be called at some point. I also noticed you crashing the net pretty hard. There was one play where Rinne was pushed completely out of the crease, and I thought for sure your guy was going to grab the puck and score, but miraculously, he shot wide. Again, in what universe is that not a penalty?

The point here is just that in these instances, instead of having such a high intensity with all these scoring chances, people would have to ease up or spend much of the game playing shorthanded. This is not how NHL 13 plays (to be fair, I was warned beforehand about your propensity for hitting, and I did try to up mine as well, as not to get completely bullied).

And lastly, just your approach to scoring chances. There was a lot of rushing down the ice at top speed, throwing something on net, and hoping for a garbage bounce (or complete and utter goalie stupidity, as Rinne showed). Not as much setting up plays, cycling the puck, etc. Like I said though, I can't really hold it against you though because "it's what works". But would I call it intelligent hockey? No, I wouldn't. I'd call it NHL 13.

If EA actually had the balls (or the knowledge) to call a game properly, it would force people to adjust to a more realistic style, instead of just doing whatever the game lets them get away with. But I've been waiting on that for a long time...and I'll probably be waiting a good while longer.

I should be online I will try to keep an eye out for you. If anything just message me. Same goes for New York Rangers I will be around all morning and afternoon.

Also a heads up I will be gone on Vacation from the 5th until the 13th. I was hoping advancement days would continue to be Tuesdays so I could play out my games. I won't be able to set my games for CPU until the 6th unless I get a chance before I head to the airport, as I won't have access to an apple device until then(or is it even possible to set cpu via the app?). I will be able to check posts on here and my messages while I'm away though.

On top of that I would like to confirm with the Commissioner that you have received the Suter trade for acceptance?

Wow... That's kind of funny. Where to begin...

Let's see, last time I checked when you have the puck in open ice it's legal to hit you. Which I would say at least 9 of the 11 were you skating dead on into a defender or getting ready to shoot and getting hit. So what you're saying is that I should let you just skate on your merry way or take your shot and cross my fingers it doesn't go in? If you thought that was hitting than you haven't seen anything. If you want me to hit like I am capable of, than I gladly will if we play again. Just don't come on here and cry when I take one of your players out. I have drastically toned down my hitting since the first week of play. I even did more so in our game because I know that you weren't to fond of some of the hits thus far. Believe me, the final hits wouldn't have been 11 to 11 if I was playing like I started out.

As for crashing the net... You say I crashed the net. Apparently you failed to notice that it was my AI guys. Which is something that happens at least 5 times a game. I agree with you that it should be called, but it's no big deal. Live with it, because it's better than getting called for multiple penalties for goalie interference for an AI guy that you have no control over. Yea it'd be awesome when it's the other guy that gets called, but something tells me there would be a lot of complaining by the person it got called on. Similar to the messed up roughing calls when the game first came out.

Now for my "rushing down the ice" and "throwing something on net"... When you are giving up constant odd man rushes why the hell would I slow down and wait for my team and your team to set up when I have a scoring opportunity. If you are going to give me the opportunity to get the odd man rushes, than I'm going to take them. I'm more than capable of setting up a play and rotating the puck and have done it multiple times through the first 18 games, but if you think for a minute that I'm going to say, "Hey, he's not playing defense I better stand here for a few seconds while his guys catch up," than you are sadly mistaken.

At the end of it all, yea I got 2 lucky goals when all I was trying to do was prevent an odd man rush going back the other way. You take those two away and I still win 2-1. 2 legitimate goals, a 2 on 1, and a possession that I rotated the puck and you left center ice wide open for a one-timer passed from behind the net.

You need to chill out... It's a game. Take the loss and move on to the next game.

And this from the guy who a couple of pages ago said "Weber had fired off a slapshot which kicked into the corner. Knowing how much time was left, I decided to just follow the shot and see how big of a hit I could get. As always...NO PENALTY." I understand you were just trying to see if you could get a penalty called, but with the amount of injuries in this game it was a dick move.

43.1 Checking from Behind – A check from behind is a check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend himself, and contact is made on the back part of the body. When a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty shall be assessed.

59.1 Cross-checking - The action of using the shaft of the stick between the two hands to forcefully check an opponent

42.1 Charging - A minor or major penalty shall be imposed on a player who skates or jumps into, or charges an opponent in any manner.

Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A “charge” may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice.

A minor, major or a major and a game misconduct shall be imposed on a player who charges a goalkeeper while the goalkeeper is within his goal crease.

A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease area. The appropriate penalty should be assessed in every case where an opposing player makes unnecessary contact with a goalkeeper. However, incidental contact, at the discretion of the Referee, will be permitted when the goalkeeper is in the act of playing the puck outside his goal crease provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact.

Let me know when anybody sees any of this in the game, then talk to me about "legit hits". As for the goalie interference thing, yeah, a lot of times it is AI guys...which is a setting you can control. And it wouldn't bother me, if I hadn't already had a team score because of it in one of my games. For that reason, it should be a penalty EVERY TIME. I don't care if it "slows the game down" or whatever other garbage you want to call it. It's a penalty. Blow the fucking whistle.

And your assertion that you scored two legit goals, so you "would have won anyway" just shows how far your head is up your ass. In the 3rd period, in a 3-1 game, I'm taking chances I wouldn't normally take. So, scoring a final dagger in that situation really isn't incredibly shocking. In a 1-1 game, those same risks wouldn't be taken. But coming from somebody who has "If you don't like the way I play, quit or get better" in his XBL profile, I'm not surprised that a concept like that eludes you.

Whatever, man. It's one game. Just wanted to let you know that I think your playstyle is shit, and you reap the benefits of an unrealistic understanding of the game. If saying that is drawing a line in the sand, then so be it. But you admitting that you'd rather play with an "anything to win" mentality than with an honorable one tells me all I need to know.

Actually, you're right about that. I wasn't thinking about the ridiculous amount of injuries when I went for that hit. I was just thinking about the penalty...and considering the amount of time left in the game (:03), I felt the risk was worth it. Matt and I are friends, and I knew he wouldn't think there was any malicious intent there.

But I would have felt like shit if it injured his player. I was just thinking of the context of the situation...which I felt warranted Weber aggressively following his shot. I still think the game should call penalties realistically. Hell...I'd even love to see suspensions. If they had suspensions in this game, I never would have gone for that hit in a million years. I'm all for anything that adds actual realism to the game, as opposed to superhuman goalies and magnetic sticks that EA thinks is "realism".
