Seems like this is either more commonplace, or the teachers just get busted more easily now, because it sure seems like there's one of these stories every few months.

I really think the idea that this is any more prevalent than it once was is probably incorrect. I think it's simply so much harder to keep incidents like these secret now though. Between the way stories spread through both the mass media and internet social media it just seems like occurs more because it's harder to keep it secret and easier to hear about it from one source or another.

Think about even in the early 2000s and late 1990s when most people my age where in middle school and high school you didn't have the social media explosion or have every single little news story from the local news posted online. I'm not excusing any of this by any means at all, especially cases like this where one party is under the age of consent, but I don't really believe the talk that it has become some kind of new epidemic....

Maybe she won't get a guy who earns over $100k, but over $50k definitely. That's she's a registered sex offender would not necessarily deter a man, not all men. I think this may be way more common than people think. During a late night alcohol induced conversation, two of my old roomates said they had hooked up with teachers in highschool. Both are good looking women(although I didn't know either in highschool) one said it was a one time thing but the other said it went on for months both seemed kind of proud of it.

I remember in Middle school we had a substitute teacher that took over for half of the year since our regular teacher had a mental breakdown (true story). I don't know what ethnicity she was I'm guessing like Portuguese or something, I recall all of the students hated her because she was pretty mean, but she was surprisingly nice to me. I will always remember when she called me up to the desk and she was talking to me while she was sitting telling me how deep and artistic my poem (assignment) was and I was standing there and her whole large rack was hanging out it was mission impossible to maintain eye contact.
 
It's funny how people always look to men as being pedophiles, and never really regard women as pedophiles. I used to think that if a guy slept with his (female) teacher it wasn't a big deal...but no.....if you want to screw a child up sleep with them. It may be a bit worse for a female victim thought because typically when they sleep with a male victim he's normally charismatic and it'll cause other students to blame the female victim for the female teachers arrest. The male victim typically won't be ostracized as much as a female victim.

What I don't understand is what the women get from sleeping with these younger guys. I mean a lot of them are fairly good looking (like this one) and have to be at least fairly educated. Probably some power trip ego thing. They probably would consider themselves inferior in a typical age-equal relationship, so they take solace in a relationship where they see themselves as the older, wiser, respected half. That may even be why they became a teacher in the first place.

I'm speaking about people in general, not just this woman. I don't see how putting on your "remorseful/guilty" face for the camera is going to help convince people that you're innocent.
 
If you've been arrested you're probably going to be depressed/upset about it and not in the mood to smile for a mug shot. It's a humiliating experience. Especially when related to something shameful like having sex with a minor.
