The Secret World Region Blocked UK Steam - US Giftable?

Hey, I was wondering since The Secret World is region blocked on UK Steam... (yeah, wtf)

Would it be possible to buy this from a US account and have someone Gift it to me? Would it show up? I keep hearing Gifts are a way around some Region blocks.
