Best 360 Headset for the money? The money being $30 or less

Oktober

CAGiversary!
After suffering through Borderlands 2 with a barely-functioning mic, and with halo 4 coming out next week, the time has come for me to replace the latest in a long string of crappy microsoft headsets. I'd rather buy one for $20-30 that lasts a year or two than drop $10 every six months.

What I'm considering:

Turtle Beach XC1 - Reviews seem good, although longevity is questionable

Morotola X205 - I already ordered one of these from Amazon, and they sent me the PC version with a USB plug

MW3 "Limited Edition" Microsoft Wireless Headset - Note, the MW3 version is $5 cheaper than the "regular" one, and I can use this with my PS3 too

Any deals I'm missing here? Anything you guys have that you love?

I have the earforce x12s. They're $60 but I got them for $40 on sale from best buy. I would be they'll be that price sometime soon, maybe even around black friday. Love them. Good sound and good microphone! They are wired, so that might be a deal breaker, but that also means I never have to change the batteries.

I like them because they have larger speakers than most of the cheaper headsets (50 mm vs. 40 mm speakers) so I feel like they have more base. I tried Tritton AX720s before but returned them and prefer the X12s.

The thing for me is that the TV is ~12 feet from the couch, so even if the cable is technically long enough to reach, it'll be pretty awkward, which is why I'm looking at the ones that are just chat headsets and not game sound.

I thought you plug it into the controller and not the 360

With the Turtle Beach's they plug into your tv, xbox and controller. If I were you I'd just spend the extra money and get a good headset, maybe you'll have to wait it out a little bit but $80-$100 for a wireless one can't be that hard to come by, or find a pair on CL. I have the PX21's, they are wired, but it's the best $80 I ever spent. I love them, they are comfy, have a bass booster, and I can use the for a ps3 if I ever get one.

Right here: Plantronics Gamecom X10. I have 3 pairs of these so there's always one around for either gaming chat or cell phone long calls (one in my car and one that roams around). The sound is perfect, they're cheap, and the person on the other end can always hear me crystal clear.

Unfortunately they used to be REALLY cheap. $12-$15, but now they've been stuck at anywhere under $20. Be sure to buy it directly from Amazon if you bite, there seems to be some fake ones being shipped in plastic bags without retail packaging from other vendors. Color may be black/green or white/gray. All of mine have been black so far.

Only I've used that you mentioned was the Motorola. My friend managed to snag like half a dozen on clearance at Gamestop. None of us had any luck with them whatsoever. Another dude I play with picked up two at his gamestop and had no luck with them as well. The wires for all the different pieces just seemed to come loose enough to cause static.

If the newer bluetooth enabled headsets like the MW3 are like the old style wireless headset, I'd go with them. I love the one I got free from club.live. My friend got one from Mountain Dew as well and they always give us the least amount of problems with good to great sound from the mics.
